Diane great work! It sounds like you have alot on your plate. One bin at a time and that mountain will disappear or be properly stored. how exciting to have a new grandbaby on the way!

Thanks Unswamping . You're right, there's so much to do, but there's such a good reason. I haven't seen my two-year-old granddaughter in a year, and now I get her and the new baby for several months! And my son and daughter-in-law ... Hubby just reported that he is burned out, but he got all of the music CDs into their own boxes, all of the book CDs into another, and got them all on a cleared out shelf in the storage room. We'll get there, slow but sure.

Diane WTG - it sounds like you & your DH are just motoring through your stuff! I bet you can't wait - congrats! Unswamping Aww heck, who *doesn't* have 3-digits? I'd probably be into 4, if I counted all the bags withing boxes within bins! Am I the only one who unpacks a bin and finds empty boxes? But...we'll get there. The main thing is that your bathroom got a huge spacious overhaul when you got rid of the bins - we can celebrate that atm. The bedroom Bs never got done yesterday - if I concentrate on just getting that surface cleared off before work today, then I'll be happy.

cyn you can do it! Im trying not to get caught up in the total numbers of "B"s, the bathroom looks alot better. Im hoping today i can get it down to two-the one full of paper and the pending electronics. Then i can give the ole bathroom a good scrub. Which shouldnt be too bad since its only about a month since i did it. Been doing some thinking and i may have to shuffle some deck chairs on the titanic this weekend. So instead of sorting through bins, i may just be moving them. I did read last night (again) about some ones strategy of combining two bins into one. I may try a little of that but i dont want to get sidetracked from the bin move.

Unswamping Thanks for the cheers! I just logged on for some inspiration, and they're going to get me shaking my cleanin' booty. Maybe not my bins, but emptying the dishwasher & reloading it would transform my kitchen bigtime. I'll be with you inspirit, moving your bins! I've moved mine so many times, I'm starting to think it's good for me. I hope the physical effort involved can whisper into my hoardy brain that it's frustrating - I always move them to improve the space they're in - and then end up hating their new location, because it ruins that space. Eventually mine will be behind the mirrors, as I'd intended.

Lets get that cleaning booty moving im going to have breakfast and then get moving ( i know, its 2pm my time) i think you are right about moving the bins, maybe the frustration will encourage me to let stuff go. What kind of life does it have, living in bins? What kind of life do i have living with bins.

Everytime I shifted my bins around - DH would say they were going to their summer home.

I've been thinking about which B in my house I could work on because I don't have many bins or boxes and then it hit me! The basement! I have a basement floor full of dirty clothes. I've been doing at least a load a day for almost a week now and the floor is still covered. After all the laundry is washed I have to clean out all trash and clean the floor. This will take weeks. My bins are going to be my laundry baskets. I currently have 5 large heaping baskets in my living room right now to be sorted and either tossed, donated or put away. B number 3 will be black garbage bags. I haven't had trash service in 2 months so I have many to get rid of already and many more to fill.

phoenixcat i do rearrange my bins based on proximity to the baseboard heat. So i guess they are moving to their spring home. I wont say summer home because i am hoping this year alot of them will vacation somewhere nice, maybe tropical, permanently. nicole that is a huge B! Basement, baskets, its all good. I hope you have trash service now. That will definetely help in getting stuff out.

Getting ready to call it a night. I did do some work rearranging the dining room. So far ive moved 21 bins ftom the doom room into the dining room. Feels like i barely made a dent in the doom room. I will keep at it until i have enough space in there to exercise. I did manage to fling sone unbinned stuff into the trash/recycling.

Yes. I finally have trash service. My basement will be a slow process. I have to somehow manage to clean it while I'm also cleaning the main part of the house. I was reading your blog and I just want to say on getting rid of so many magazines. It made me smile.

nicole im glad you have trash service. This thread is going to go for a long time, i have alot of bins. Just do maybe one load of laundry a day and a bit upstairs and before you know it, you will be caught up. Hoysework is a marathon, not a sprint. Dont try to do it all this weekend.
