I just thought of a new "b" to work on--my brain! Last night we went to a wonderful Good Friday experience at our church. I say "experience" rather than a "service," because it was very quiet, contemplative and personal. I just soaked up the quietude there, and felt restored and strengthened. There is so much constant noise that goes on in my head, ongoingly. I need to find some way to meditate or other ways to just quiet my brain. I think I would be the better for it.

Yesterday I did a box from the family room, that box had a bin and 2 baggies inside of it. All three of those and the box itself got sorted through. It was primarily sewing stuff. I sorted by bobbins, sewing needles, thread, into other bins. Then I retrieved the shoe box of sewing stuff from my closet and sorted through that --- 114 things from those bins went into the trash. I was glad that the sewing stuff is a bit more organized and are going into the craft room at least with like with like and neatly arranged. My gram was an avid seamstress and I have her wonderful collection of thread and needles, and sewing machine. Plus the one she bought for me. So, I am not creating a total doom room, but a craft room. And the nice part is that I hope to be able to sew soon once I get the tables cleared off. Buying the patterns and fabric for skating skirts and practice wear is my goal.

I like this thread! peaceandfreedom - yes your brain (mind) is important to work on too. I fill mine with positive affirmations. It is a life line for me. I am learning to be kinder to myself. I thought of a B that I need to do too: Fill the bird feeder! So I will go do that! I broke down 4 empty boxes. I have a couple on stand by - just in case I need to fill them. I am hoping not to. I think I may be able to find another of these particular boxes to break down. Maybe even 2.

I did (finally) refill the bird feeder - glad they are not really depending on me for food. It's just fun to have them come. In my defense, this bird feeder is in a tree that I have to go outside in order to see the birds eat - or if it needs to be refilled. I am hoping to get a tree planted that I can easily look outside my window and see the birds.
I transferred some small things into a small bin from a cup that was sitting out. I got a set of 4 of these little bins at the dollar store and they have a great seal which I like. Nothing worse than having the bin fall to the ground and open, contents spilling out all over the floor.
I also started putting sweaters into a bin for summer. If I am really lucky, my doing that will bring a cold snap. Today was 87F.

5 Laundry baskets full of clothes put away. I didn't count but I believe I did about 5 loads of laundry today and got those clothes off the basement floor.

Unswamping...you've started a really great thread here! I've also thought of another B -- Bedding, which will be part of my work when I clean the main bathroom tomorrow. Hey, Bathroom is another B!
Spent a good part of all last week purging my Brain of Baggage. So that's done. (For now.)
Everyone is doing Beautifully!

ha ha mynicehome - brain baggage- good one to clear out! never ending, though, for us humans! WTG nicole on getting all that laundry done! great work 1rarebeautifuldove for sorting through the sewing stuff and getting rid of so many items, for setting up some sewing goals and making steps toward a sewing/craft room! i took out a grocery-sized bag of trash, half filled with clothes that i tossed. emptied a lot of boxes of fabric into clear bins so i could see it. did not get rid of much; maybe a box to donate. working on filling a box with clothing donations. consolidated two bigger boxes of mend/repair/repurpose clothing into smaller boxes, and moved the last 3 bins of fabric to living room so it's all in one room now. well, except for the felt and quilt batting! have one box of "i don't know" clothing to sort - at least half of those, i will probably throw out or rip up a few pairs of comfy worn out sweats for rags. have a very small box with about 6 books ready to take to used bookstore. hoping to have a full box of donations for thrift, and hoping to drop these all off on Tuesday. (clothing, thrift donations, books)

I got rid of a half a box of fabric yesterday when dd went through one of my last boxes of yardage. She is making dgd dresses, shorts and tops. Before I take the box back to storage, I intend to go through it to see what I can get rid of. Why is it when your sewing machine is gone for repairs that you suddenly think of 99 things you want to sew? When I get it back will I actually sew anything?
Anyway, today it will be bags in the bedroom that I will be working on. I will make up my bed, cover the bedspread with an old sheet and use that area to sort on.

imamess - My big goal for clearing off the family room tables is so that I can sew skating skirts for practice. I will not allow myself to order the patterns or fabric until they are clean. I am trying to focus on what I can do once I have this stuff out of the way. Not the empty scary feeling of "now what?" creativechaos - I usually use grocery bags as trash bags. then put them into the bigger bags. More of a sense of accomplishment that way. Plus, they are great for donations because they can always use them. I have to take the sense of accomplishment any way I can get it. Great job on all that you have gotten sorted, tossed, and ready to donate!

peaceandfreedom i love your new B. I need to do some of that too this week. Great job! 1rarebeautifuldove you are doing fantastic. Im glad the birdies are fed even if they dont "need" it. I hope your sweater trick works, its much too early for 87 degrees. nicole wtg on getting five loads of laundry done and put away. mynicehome thank you. I like this thread. Lots os creative Bs happening here. Great work on the Brain Baggage. I need to do some of that this week. Bedding, good luck with that. I dont even want to talk about the gigantic box that came out of my doom room. I was digging through it, hoping that there was something else besides bedding in it. No such luck. Ill deal with it at some point. creativechaos great job on getting out trash and collecting donations. That is awesome that you are attacking those fabric bins and getting them shelved so you can see them. Thats a huge step towards being able to use your stash. imamess great job on letting your daughter go through your fabric stash. I think once your sewing machine is back, you will get some sewing done. Make some notes now, while the ideas are fresh in your mind. I keep a running list of sewing projects for when i finally have cleared enough space to sew.

Unswamping I took a break last night. I went to my sons house for dinner and didn't do any cleaning. I'm ready to get some things done tonight. I had leftovers from my sons so I just had to warm up dinner. NO cooking. The living room is 3/4 clean and laundry is about half done. I am very eager to get to my kitchen. It's almost impossible to do anything in there right now. It is better since I got the garbage off the floor. The kitchen will probably take longer than the living room is taking. One thing I'm learning is to not overdo things. I've crashed and burned too many times.
