Are we discussing THAT chair in the bedroom? The one that grabs stuff and hangs on to it and refuses to let go of it? The clothes you put on that "didn't work"? The stack of clean folded undies? The bag of meds you picked up at the pharmacy? The doll that supposedly belongs on your bed? THAT CHAIR?!?!?!? I would attack it, but it scares me!!!!!

We have a 'CHAIR' in the sitting room Di , things get piled on it until the pile topples over. I don't believe the chair has ever been sat on! The stuff on the chair is exclusively G's stuff, except for the occasional thing that belongs to me that gets snatched by the chair hoard and held captive. This weekend I will gentle encourage G to do something with the CHAIR. I will also commit to tackling my old nemesis the Coffee table! Great thread!

Coffee table has been tided and polished. It is never as hard to do as I think it is going to be.
I have broached the subject of the CHAIR with G and told him my expectations so we'll see what happens.

Di - I have "that" Chair in my family room, and he has recruited the rocking Chair and the other Dining room chairs. I have a Bench like that by the front door that likes to hold things captive too. Also the wing-back Chair has decided that it wants to hold the sweater captive that I just need to work the ends in on. And the Couch likes to get in the act too. This morning I cleaned a bunch of things - 43 of them from underneath it - and there are still more - this was just the trash. Yes, this is a fun thread. The passenger "chair" in my car likes to hold things captive too. I can keep the back seat better now, but that front passenger side "chair" keeps promising that it will be "just for the ride home" "that's ok, wait till next time. One more car ride won't matter." (or 3 or 5) It never ceases to amaze me just how many things get on that "chair" when I start getting things off of it to bring inside.

"cash for clutter" sale went very well. 7 "carton" boxes of books went to the library after, 3 "containers" (of the plastic trash variety) of Clothing and Curtains went to the "collection" box. And the free pile is creating a cluster of people! I got rid of so much stuff, I saved all my empty plastic "containers" to fill up for the next sale! And I am now able to "catch up" on an important bill that has been "causing" me worry.

Oh! and the infamous "CHAIR" ... well 3 chairs... I got rid of them... so no place to put future clutter any more so I will have to put it away or get rid of it!

So, in the front of the house right now is a Giant wooden Crate. I remember when I had the goats, turkeys, geese, ducks, etc. etc. WANTING one of these Crates. At that time, I Collected a few Crates, which I thought I would be able to Creatively transform into Clever Cottages for the animals. They looked like framed houses to me, that all a Capable Carpenter (which I am not) would have to do, is add some wood and paint and Viola - Cute Cottage for Critter. This particular Crate has 5 sides. However, at this Current moment in time, I considered and contemplated very quickly what to do with it, because today, I did not see it as a Potential Cute Cottage for Critter. I saw it as CLUTTER. Packaging to be Cast Off when getting the Contents out is Completed. And so it will be burned. And the good part of this is that I am very very happy to have a new and different opinion about the large Crate. How wonderful to have a paradigm shift in my thinking about what is good and what I am Capable of doing. And what is Beyond my Capabilities. How freeing that is. My mom was able to fold down for easy Carrying to the Curb the very rust-Crusted Dog Crate. I also saw that there are 3 Carpets out by the outbuilding that I will be preparing for Garbage Collection this week.

I have an office chair in my sewing room that hoards things. It is stacked higher than the back with leather skirts, a couple of sweaters and other things to turn into purses. I can't stand it any longer, I'm going in to wrestle with the chair and find somewhere to put it's hoard. If it fights back too much, I may even get rid of the chair!

Chair pile gone! 90% is folded and stacked in milk crates. I had to refold what was in the milk crates and then magically, most of the rest fit. I have a small pile in the floor that will be taken to the trash and a couple of small piles that still need a home. That took less than an hour.
I'll rest a few minutes, then go back and tackle the small piles.

Checked my free Clutter at the Curb and brought in 3 empty containers and consolidated the rest into one. Already considering crummy clutter to create another container at the curb celebration!

THAT CHAIR has grabbed a small pile of leather. I think it can't stand to be empty.
