Hello everyone - ohblondie, Chris, Diane, MLS and Magda. phew, it is hard to come in when some of you are coming to the end of a busy day.
Oh well, I have done dishes, taken recycling out, emptied rubbish bins in the bedroom, bathroom & study, washed dishes and groomed the cat!
Now I need to * empty kitchen trash * water pots (another hot day - I am so looking forward to autumn!) * keep going with laundry * help DH prep lunch and ETE * email to a friend

Hi everyone
I have read back over this thread and am impressed with everyone's hard work.
Diane, I have a neighbour up the street who I have noticed putting some of my things out on her lawn a few days after I put them out on mine. So I think she just picks everything up, has a think about it, and then just puts what she's picked up from my lawn that she doesn't want on her lawn. Mostly kids toys and small pieces of furniture that I have got rid of by leaving them out the front because I don't think they're good enough to donate. It always amuses me when they disappear and then reappear again a few doors down the street. Maybe the doll will reappear in the alley quite quickly!
My week started yesterday and I was very productive. I have followed up with a good start this morning.
I got the kids to school. I sent some work emails that have been hanging over my head. I rang my niece and arranged for her to come and do some paid work around the house with me later this week. I started finding items around the house to throw away for the 2017 items challenge and threw out 6 random items.
I am very pleased with myself that I thought of my niece and that my plan seems like it will work. She is in her mid 20s and her job finished up before Christmas so she is not working and also needs some money. I thought that if I can get her to do a room for me that will speed things up and I will feel like I am making progress. Some things she couldn't do because of decisions that are involved but I will ask her to do my children's room and I will be here working in another room if she needs advice but there is less decision making with their stuff and I will feel so much better when they have a decent space to sleep in. After we see how that goes, I might ask her to do what I laughingly call the toy room but which is just a junk room at the moment. Again, there are decisions to make in there but not much that I am not happy to delegate to someone else.
I feel excited now because for the first time I feel like I have a real chance of getting the house back in order. It felt like too big a job for me to do by myself. I've thought of paying someone before but it's difficult to know who and how much to pay and etc whereas I feel comfortable with her doing it. I can only pay for three or four hours a week but it will be enough to make a difference in those rooms that I never usually get around to.
For the rest of today I plan to
tidy the last of the files that need to be returned to work and get them out of the house put away my Christmas decorations (it's the last day of February and I can't have them hanging around the place in March) Find some more stuff to throw out (I'm starting to enjoy it) Fold and put away some washing Do a load of washing Clear the kitchen bench and do the dishes.

Hello jendela! Ugh--your mentioning autumn coming reminds me that our spring is coming--and then summer. Some neighbors came and knocked on my door today (and I was able to OPEN IT right away!) to tell me they're going away for their delayed honeymoon for 2 weeks. I asked where they're going--Australia! They're very excited. Haywire, I'm so happy to hear you'll have some paid help--I think that'll make a huge difference! I hope your niece turns out to be a good worker. That's funny about the things you throw out showing up down the street--I think maybe I'll walk down the alley tomorrow and look for the doll! So during that last list I ended up writing everything I needed to write for the meeting tomorrow, I just need to make a few reminder notes and print copies of the minutes and I'll be all ready. At least I didn't leave it for tomorrow afternoon... I also ate dinner, so now I guess I need to start getting ready for bed. Clean up dinner stuff Scoop litter pans Give everyone fresh water Feed parakeets Diane

oh Diane - I am sorry to remind you that summer is on the way, but right now I am so over this heat and cant wait for cooler weather & better sleep. how good you were able to open the door to your neighbors! and how wonderful they will be travelling to Australia - I hope they have a wonderful trip and that the plane trip isn't too onerous. Do you know where they are visiting?
Haywire - that is great you have found someone to help you with the children's room
I have done everything on my list except for send an email to my friend, so I'd better do that now.

Sent an email to friend, made time to talk with my neighbor, washed and hung sheets to dry, fresh bed linen, spent a bit of time churning through excess stuff - yes, I know that you cant organize clutter but I keep trying.
more laundry to finish - I am lucky that everything dries so quickly at the moment.
hoping that the weather will cool down soon.

Chris, do you really find that you smell the oils all day long with the necklace? I put them on my clothing (yes, I know you're not supposed to, but I don't care) but I find that after a short time my nose gets used to the smell so I'm not even aware of them. It actually works better to put them on my lower sleeve, then it's not right under my nose and I don't become used to the smell. Diane Hi Diane -- only certain oils seem to stay strong and noticable in my diffuser necklace. I use small cut circles of real leather to drop the oil onto -- that may make a difference. (got a remnant leather piece at the hobby shop) The citrus oils don't seem to linger as long but they are so wonderful while they do last. The only ones I use in the diffuser necklace are the Peppermint, Wild Orange and separately I use "Serenity" a blended oil for especially difficult days. There are several others I'd like to try and may over the course of the year. My cats are really benefiting from Lavender diffused by the bed at night. My necklace isn't too short (not too close to my nose) so I pick it up sometimes to really breathe in the scent. Sometimes if I'm outside in a breeze people next to me even notice the scents. I was happy to find the diffuser for $10 with free shipping from ebay. I think I'd like to put the oils on my jackets -- I'd be afraid of putting them on shirts in case they stain -- do you find that they come out when washed? ~Chris~

good morning everyone!! This is to be a stay home day except for a quick run over to the depression support group after dinner. DONE: * shower * cat care * bullet journal start up for the day list Wow -- still I am having a slow start. Last night I worked really hard on a month in review -- going over the accomplishments, good and bad parts of February -- a 2 page spread in my writing journal -- it really showed me a lot of truths. I will take that with me to counseling Thursday. I have some more work to do also preparing for that appointment. Today, I am going to write some emails, map out the route to my friends house for tomorrow, write, video livestream, organize in the kitchen, finish my drawer organizing, just basically keep my projects going and unplug quite a bit from the running around we've been doing. I have to get a handle also on my books and notebooks and which books to read first. I also will check on the airplane ticket cost at this point to see where that is at right now. I'm within 8 weeks of flying home to Vermont so sometime soon may be the right time to purchase my tickets.

Good morning Chris!
I only wear scrub shirts and sweatshirts, so I haven't had a problem with the oil staining those. I'm sure there are materials that would stain, so the necklace is a good alternative.
I'm off to mid-day work now, just saw the weather and they're predicting a thunderstorm this afternoon, which should just be in time for my late afternoon walk. We'll see how today turns out.

Slowly working through cases. Going for a walk in a few minutes. Hopefully that will clear my head.
Chris - for the longest time I had a Reed diffuser with lavender oils on the night stand right next to my pillow. It was lovely. I sometimes spray my pillow with the bath and body Works spray. Lavender is so relaxing! !!
