That's a double win. Even though getting rid of excess is the main point, getting a bit of money on occasion is excellent.

Thanks goldenthreads. It makes it easier for me to part with my DD's baby childhood things by earning some cash. And I was glad to see the toy go, it should be played with not gather dust in my basement.

All of the above went to my daughter when I asked her if she needed any office supplies, and would she like the free packing cubes I'd received for renewing with AARP.

1 dried up ink pens. Now, I’m using my new ones. I cheer every time I get to throw away a pen. When we sold the house, I got all the remaining office supplies from my ex and my adult children. I just can't make myself throw them away, because...well, you know why. Anyway, I have been able to give some of the office supplies away, but no one ever takes a pen. I have a lifetime supply+, if they don't dry up first. Maybe I should write a couple of novels in longhand.

Dear Declutterers, I let go of some challenging things today: my best high heels. I only had a few pair left... and I think I'm mourning them because it marks an end of a personal era (youth) and a national era (going out) and they were bought for occasions and were, well, cute! They were for a Life I Don't Live and Don't Even WANT To Live. But still... *sob*
I'll go back and get my count later, its humid in the basement
consigned
4 pairs high heels--a fifth pair they said they'd take in the winter 14 items of clothing.
mostly tops and tunics. I went for the synthetic stuff. all nice, but barely worn because I live in the South and its never the right time of year to wear them.
a couple pairs of slacks in the wrong colors a couple sweaters--one fancy wool one given back to me for the winter round
then I went shopping, so the balance is actually in the plus category, but I have a bunch of items earmarked for donation. I'm upgrading (as my Stein Mark is closing) and Tuesday is senior discount day.

...I'm mourning them because it marks an end of a personal era (youth) ...Tuesday is senior discount day. There's nothing like senior discount day to make this go down easier! Good job making the decision.

I pulled four items for donation from my capsule at M's and bagged them up. she's got a giant pile of bags on the front porch for the next lucky caller asking if we have anything to pick up!
