Okay, I came up with a list that has lots of procrastinated items on it. I'll roll 2 of them for each of my work-along lists.
1-Do an item from my correspondence list 2-Do an item from my main to-do list 3-Check fridge and get all compost outside 4-Make some newspaper plant pots 5-Rearrange freezer, add a container to hold things 6-Do an item from my main to-do list 7-10 minutes cleaning upstairs bathroom 8-Do an item from my correspondence list 9-Write a long response to a book site email 10-10 minutes cleaning plant room 11-10 minutes cleaning plant room 12-10 minutes on book data project 13-Do an item from my main to-do list 14-Step 1 or 2-clean out porch planter
15-Step 1 or 2-clean out porch planter
Step 1 is pull out dead plants from pots, empty soil into one larger container, wipe out pots Step 2 is put away the other items in the planter, then bring planter and pots down to yard
My first two dice rolls are 9 and 2, so write an email response, and 10 minutes cleaning my plant room.

Hi Diane, I didn't see you on the new page at first.
I see that you are working on plants and planters. That is one of those jobs that can be hard to get started on, but once I get started, and my hands are dirty, I can keep going for a while.
I am going to walk then attend a phone meeting, so I might not be back for a while.

Ally, this is a planter that was out on my high back porch in summer, I never got around to emptying it in fall and it's been sitting there all this time, I'm going to finally put it down underneath the lower porch so I can clean everything out in spring when the hose is connected. I also have a planter to clean out on my enclosed back porch, but that will have to wait until another day.
Okay, next rolls are 8 and 8, so make some newspaper plant pots, and porch planter step 1.

desposito, I have never made paper pots. Maybe I'll try that someday. Copying my list from earlier. I completed #9 and realized that the recycling has to go out, which I have not done yet. I also called into a CLA meeting and read some of the BIT book. I've been feeling a little stuck lately, so my goal is to get 10 items out or 5 minutes of work in each area. I can do more as my motivation increases. I will use the game-board method... 1. Declutter bedroom 2. Declutter upstairs bathroom 3. Declutter car 4. Declutter living room sofa 5. Vitamins into pill box thingies Recycling: gather together and take it out.6. Overnight breakfast jars Empty the dishwasher7. Prep red beans and rice. (I started soaking beans a few days ago!) 8. Prep items to donate or return. Take out to car. 9. Go out for a walk Laundry/laundry room start load, declutter 10 items 10. 10 minute upper body/ab workout Jump to 11 11. Declutter kitchen I rolled a 1 which lands me on 10 When I land on a number that is crossed out, I will get the recyclables together and take them out. If I don't roll that in the next hour, I will do it in an hour. (Pick up isn't usually until late afternoon.) I found a series of 3-10 minute workouts on YouTube a couple of days ago. I did 3 different 3 minute videos. One for abs (my abs are killing me) one for chest and shoulders, and then an "easy" workout. I rolled a 6, which brings me to 5 I will gather the recycling together and take that out.

I use the newspaper pots to start seedlings inside, that way I don't have to spend money buying peat pots. When it comes time to transplant them I just cut down the edges of the pots so that I don't have to disturb the roots too much. Of course, the soil has to be at the right texture when I cut the paper away--too wet or too dry and the soil falls apart. But if it's the right texture the soil holds together and the roots are unscathed. I had to remind myself how to make them this year, I forgot from last year, but now I have it down again. I made 5, if I do that every once in a while I'll have enough for the beginning/middle of next month when I start planting seeds inside.
Next rolls: 8 & 10, which is an item from my correspondence list and 10 minutes cleaning the bathroom.

desposito, Do you have that tool designed to help you shape the paper pots, or is there an another method with no too required? (I'm trying not to buy unnecessary stuff these days.) Oh, I just googled it and found this: I just rolled a 1, that brings me to 6, which is already completed. I am going to add emptying the dishwasher here. I emptied the dishwasher and ate a quick lunch Net up: I rolled a 3 which brings me to Laundry room. Start a load, if there is enough stuff, then, Declutter...Remove at least 10 items to trash or donate.

Ally, when I first started doing this I looked at instructions online, and those square ones were ridiculously hard to make. Mine are round and simple, they don't look perfect but they do the job--you take a rectangle of a few layers of newspaper, roll them around the correct size bottle or can, fold the bottom edges up to form the bottom of the pot (I put a piece of tape on mine) and then remove the resulting tube from the bottle and fold about a half inch of the top part down to make it stay together. I also put a small piece of tape on the edge of mine where the paper comes together. I didn't look at the video you found yet but the round ones are probably similar directions. Once I get going on them they go fast, and you can make whatever size you want by using different size bottles or cans.
While I was in the yard with the dog I went up the back steps to bring the planter and pots downstairs, so the second part of the planter job is done. After lunch I will continue with my list.

I spent a few minutes attacking the laundry room. Some old t-shirts were added to the rag box, several items were put away, and 4 items were thrown out. This room will take a long time, but if I keep working at it, I should make progress. I rolled a 2 which brings me to the kitchen declutter. I may decide to go through a box I packed up a few months ago... stuff to be donated or tossed.

Next rolls: 4 and 7, which are one item from correspondence list and one from my main to-do list. I'm going to pick something from the main to-do list that isn't the most urgent category--those things always get done, other things linger on there for months.

I'm going to do two more rolls today, that will leave only 4 items undone on my list.
10 and 9, which is 10 minutes cleaning the plant room, and rearranging my freezer.
Ally, I hope you're getting some things out during your decluttering!

Thanks Ally, I can say with absolute certainty that I would not have taken care of that planter without the dice game. I also wrote out 2 letters that I have been procrastinating on for 6 weeks, so I would say I had a productive day!
