In order to get my sewing room/laundry room in order, I've decided that every time I put a load in the washer or dryer, spend 15 minutes working on the room.

Thanks, Goldenthreads. I washed & dried 3 loads yesterday and I can almost see the top of my sewing machine.

I won't be able to get thru all my 'Zillas by the New Year, but I will aim to work hard towards: 1) DSL--This poking on my phone is too pricy & hard to post/follow the forum! 2) Dryer Repair-- I've looked on YouTube & this should be an easy DIY repair provided I can still locate the part.
My outdoor projects have been pretty much at a standstill since next door is constantly packed & instantly refilled.
Continued good wishes to all!

I have 5 big projects but will select only one. I would like success and not be overwhelmed with too many projects at once.
I have an attached front porch that has an 8x10 sagging ply table covered with all mixed up old and often rusted inherited tools and hardware. Fishing gear, misc. posts, etc on the floor. Doors with windows in my living room look onto this ugly scene. Prior to all the junk I had lovely blooming plants out there.
I would love to once again see 2 or 3 lovely houseplants out there. My priority will be to totally empty this room. Only a few plants allowed. I figure I can find someone to whom I can give tools. So sort, organize, containerize and toss and give away. I think I can accomplish this big project since my WIT's habits manage basic daily chores and minor household maintenance.

That sounds like a fantastic plan, gaylem! How nice to have a great goal with the pleasing end product being pretty plants to nurture, gaze upon & enjoy as they beautify the area. Good luck!

All painting projects are done, now to finish sewing/laundry room. It's slow going in there, plus I have bought 2 more large boxes of leather pieces. I did purchase 4 stacking baskets with holes in the sides yesterday. I'm hoping that will help.
While I'm waiting on supper to finish, I'm going to put a load of laundry in the washer and piddle around with the organizing in there.

I rearranged some furniture last night in lr with the sewing room in mind. I was using an old whiskey barrel for a side table. Put that next to GF's chair and had him help me dig out a small table with a shelf to use as my side table.
The table had been hiding beside the sewing machine cabinet hidden under the outstretched arm of the cabinet. Moving that gave me room to stack my new bins out of the middle of the floor. I still have more to do, but I'm beginning to make progress. I can see more floor now.

I'm still struggling with the sewing/laundry room. I found a small leak on the floor last weekend. GF's clothes are so greasy & grimey and I have to put so much degreaser on them that if I don't put drain cleaner down all the drains each month, the washer overflows when draining. Got the drain cleaner in post haste!
The sewing chair seat is clear, 2 leather skirts hanging over the back. 4 more bins with holes in the sides purchased to hold leather scraps that I use to make earrings, small coin purses, etc. A large toolbox is sitting on the front porch that needs a bath before I take in in the room to put all the leather hardware in. I'm thinking that it will hold smaller plastic boxes to further organize what I have.
The best Christmas present I could give myself is to get this mess organized and labeled so I can start the new year crafting.

Purchased 3 sheets of foam core board at the $ store. Plans are to cut these down to fit a shelf in the sewing room and wrap fabric around them to I can stand the fabric up like books and see what I have.

It'll be like shopping at your personal store that contains only the fabric that you want!

Goldenthreads, I sure hope so. I took MOST of the stuff off the top of the dryer a while ago and it covered half the bed. That is going to take a while to go through and find homes for and I haven't even gotten to the fabric yet. Most of this is leather pieces, leather already cut for purses, one purse that I had trouble topstitching, patterns, pieces of coin purses, yada yada.
Back in there to switch laundry and do a little more.

Put some empty bins on the other side of the bed, picked up some more things from the floor of the sewing room. Preparing to sort fabric, leather and findings. I will either get this sorted and put away today or it will all go back into the floor tonight and I do not want that to happen.
