Feeling super low tonight and needing to gently help myself focus, so going to try one thing at a time for a bit...
I'll start with 5 minutes of sorting laundry

WTG seahorse! I often revert to "do one thing" and it works! Or sometimes, Do The Essentials. Or just that one important thing that I've been putting off. Whatever it takes to stop the Overwhelm.

Sorted laundry for five minutes Put my mask in the sink to soak NEXT: Replenish cat food and water Feeling overwhelmed and scared tonight, so giving myself a hug

Ok, kitty food and water replenished and I went downstairs to get one of two water bowls that I finally scrubbed out yesterday after they sat around for months on the porch. That means I can wash the normal bowl that I've been using and put that back in the cupboard.
Also scooped kitty pan while I was up.
NEXT: Take dirty dishes downstairs and put away 1 clean dish
Gentle challenge: Set timer for 10 minutes on focus on getting whatever I can get done in the kitchen - putting away clean dishes, washing some dirty ones, putting away any food, etc. I would rather hide under the bed, but I'll see if I can focus anyway.

Focused for 10 minutes in the kitchen - put away the clean dishes, washed some of the dirty ones, got some dirty dishes off of the porch.
Took a 5-minute break
NEXT: 2 minutes straighten porch 3 minutes wash dishes

Ok, porch is now tidy enough, even though it still needs a lot of work. Good enough for now!
Challenged myself to focus on dishes for 5 minutes and got through some more. Feel frustrated that even with all of this work, I will go to bed with a messy house. But, if I don't do this stuff, it would be even messier and get even messier still...
5 minutes break and then: 5 minutes kitchen

Ok, unpacked the groceries and realized that I hadn't had any substantial food today, so heated up some pea soup and ate it with sliced kiwi and blueberries on the side.
NEXT: Brush teeth

Great work!
I am tackling a curtain project today, I've had the new curtains probably a month (or very close to) already and yet haven't been able to make myself to iron them and put them up.Today I am doing it, one step at the time. Next: fill iron with water and iron 1 curtain.

Hi OnTheMend and mylittlescholar!! Whew - it's been a "one thing at a time" kind of week. Lovely to see your posts and steps - very motivating. And thanks for stopping by BetsyMarie and larataylor - nice to see you both and I appreciate the support! I was out all day and have so much to do tonight - both home and work stuff, so... NEXT: Fold 5 pieces of dry hanging laundry
