Good morning ohblondie and PS and lennon!
I'm SO relieved this week is over, the air seems to be working fine, the week was mostly okay except during the afternoon yesterday the 1st floor was getting really uncomfortable. But we survived and now we're done. The cowbird couple has already been to eat on the porch this morning, and I climbed up on a step stool to get a ladybug on the ceiling and let it outside. It would not climb onto the plastic edge of my bug taxi, but when I put my hand down it climbed right on!
I'm going to the library this morning and then can relax for the rest of the weekend. Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be cooler so I will think about walking to a store on one of those days.
TO DO:
Clean up from breakfast 10 minutes on plants Restock water in fridge Update lists

Good afternoon! Thanks for starting us ohblondie. hope your picnic is a success. Hot and sunny here. Puppy is roaming around looking for something to chew so I just gave her a sanctioned treat as she had selected a wooden shelf! But she is really such a sweetheart, a really good dog. So far I drove DD to practice, took out the trash, put the clean dishes away, cleaned the bathroom sink and toilet, and returned a library book. So happy to be in a reading mode again. Also I have been handling some emails for DD , I am truly her personal assistant. Actually I put an ad at her request on a social media site for some summer jobs, so I am the first point of contact. When we wrote up the ad she said wow I sound really great kind of in surprise and I said and it's all true! I did rally yesterday and I vacuumed the stairs, hallway, puppy crate area, dining room, living room, and upholstered furniture. I also mopped the entry way. The house looks much better. also kept up with the laundry chain. I need to go pick up DD and then I hope to do some paperwork. That will help the dining room table get in shape. I did try to clean out a junk drawer today and I made very little progress. Many things are memorabilia that i do want, and some are good to have around, like twine, batteries, picture hooks, birthday candles. I did find a letter to be opened in the event of my death or incapacitation so I looked at that, and it needs to be updated. It is just telling my family pertinent contact information that would help, but it is about ten years old so some stuff is out of date. It is a single mom thing I guess. I will put it in my paperwork to do file today. Have an enjoyable day!

Visited mom. Cleaned and refilled her little birdbath outside her window.
Pulled a bunch of weeds at brother's.
Watched "Taxi" marathon on TV on Decades channel. 😀
Walked in the park for 30 min with neighbor.
Kind of a l a z y day....
Diane, how's the AC? Did you use it much today?
I've never had AC. I would only use it 2 or 3 days a year if I did. My fans are keeping me comfortable.

Good morning!
The dog has been out, I'm eating breakfast, it's going to be hot again but thunderstorms much later today will cool things off for the next two days. I didn't water this morning because the ground is still a bit damp and there will be rain later--or so they say. I don't know at what point I can say I'm past the "replanting trauma" period and stop all the watering--all the plants have grown, some more than others, but all of them look healthy. If we would ever get even normal amounts of rainfall again I think I could stop watering every day.
I need to mentally regroup and figure out what my next priorities are, I spent so much energy worrying about the A/C project last week that I can't remember what else I have to do. The unit is working well, no problems. And yes of course, I have it on--that's what it's for! I could not live with just fans. In fact, don't they say that once the temperature goes above a certain number fans make it WORSE? I know I read that during the last really serious heat wave we had, when they talked about how low-income people who couldn't afford A/C were dying because they were using only fans and the heat was above that dangerous point.
This is another thing to remind myself about when I complain about little things. How would I like to live in poor areas of Asia and Africa where there is extremely high heat and humidity every day and only the richest people can afford air conditioning? It puts things in perspective, for sure.
