Good morning, Ally and ClimbingPyramids! Well, it's taken my whole life to learn that everyone is a bit weird in their own way, and now I've found two people who are a little weird the same way I am! My particular version of getting my posts right is that I review before posting, then I post, and then I look it over again. Usually when I do this final edit it's to correct spacing! Meanwhile, my living space needs a major rewriting. I appreciate that you have used "it's" correctly. What's up with that? Occasionally, I see that even people with graduate degrees use "it's" when it should be the possessive "its" (Great -- now I'm stymied to decide if the full stop should be within or outside the end quotation mark of "its". And, I, too, need to revise and resubmit my entire domestic sphere.

If anyone is interested, here is a new challenge for August: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/33297/august-challenge-everybody-welcomeI hope so. It's one of the household tasks I really enjoy. goldenthreads , I've never read that book, but have seen it mentioned over the years. Might have to check our library. I've gotten a lot done in the yard the past few days, and am very pleased by that. Tasks I'd been delaying. Done this morning: -dishes put near sink -looked in freezer for something but did not find... -windows and blinds opened Todo -water in front -yard work in front -order mulch delivery (probably Monday) -empty, defrost, and organize freezer

Good morning y'all! I really want to sit here and just read what's been going on, but that won't get my house sorted. So I'm going to intersperse catching up and doing something! 1. Get dressed (I showered and I'm wearing a towel. The neighbors would prefer clothes I think.) 2. Pick up Cricket the cats toys and put them away as she hasn't 3. Read one page of WIT since I last posted

OMGosh, I just had a revelation that only y'all will understand. So yesterday, I came up with this harebrained scheme to make make a hanging swing bed for my covered patio. Last night, in an imitation of an organized person, I went out and measured the patio and where the studs were. That meant getting out the tape measure, a ladder, and notebook and a pen. This morning, guess where those things were? All over the place of course! So then this morning, I swept the patio, found the tapemeasure, that was now in the bathroom, and then the chalkmarker that was in my office, and marked out the measurements. Then I needed pliers to pull out the old lights, which also needed the ladder. Then I had a shower, and where were all those things? All over the place of course! So, as I picked up cricket's toys, I had this revelation - what if I get a box, and put in it all the things I need for the project? The tapemeasure that was on the patio, the pliers that were now in the bathroom, the notepad that was in the living room, the pen that was on the living room floor, etc, and then I'd know where they were when I do the next step. It's like GENIUS!!! I feel so smart! goldenthreads, I enjoyed your shampoo experiment! My shower has three shelves. Shampoo goes on the top one, conditioner on the second and body wash on the third. As long as I always start from the top, I'm good (but if it didn't, I'd never be good!) 4. Pick up the office floor and set off Roomba 5. Clear of kitchen sides 6. Read one more page of WIT Done 1. Get dressed (I showered and I'm wearing a towel. The neighbors would prefer clothes I think.) 2. Pick up Cricket the cats toys and put them away as she hasn't 3. Read one page of WIT since I last posted

@climbingpyraminds - I enjoyed your search down the backwaters of the internet - that's just the kind of thing I would do.. yesterday, someone mentioned ear infections and I was sure the word couldn't possibly be "grommets" so I spent 30 minutes investigating to find out they call them "tubes" in the US, and nowadays, they use balloons!! The one thing I DON'T do here is check my spelling and grammar. I figure if I'm letting it all hang out, then I might was well go for it! :-)
10. Read 1 article from the paper pile 11. Sort through 1 folder on computer 12. Read one more page of WIT

I wonder if they're using phones, or have been taught by them! My phone autocorrects common words. It not only adds the apostrophe to its, but it also capitalizes it! Apparently no one in history before me has ever put it's in the middle of a sentence. The phone also turns the word were into we're. I am learning to roll with it all, and learning to give people grace. (I grew up with a grammar-policing parent who'd lose the message because of monitoring us for correctness.) Good morning, mouseanne . Not UK. I'm one time zone west of you, so an hour behind. Good luck on the kitchen cupboards. I have "new" dishes from my mom, and they're the last things from my trip I need to figure out. Hi, BetsyMarie . I'm glad you started the August Challenge thread. Because of your encouraging words, I'm going to have a stab at it again. erniethecat I have so many questions about your towel wardrobe and your neighbors! But I'm just diverting myself. Ate breakfast. Got dressed. Got the rented SUV so I can do tomorrow's storage change. I think it's too small, and I might have to make two trips many miles apart between the two storage places. The rental agent tried to "upgrade" me to an enormous pickup truck, but that would've been $$$$$. Maybe I can consolidate the boxes a bit before loading. Put some task items in the rented SUV. Wash dishes. Make bed, and have meds. Get good packing tape to redo the boxes. Deposit check. Add gas to car.

TA DA:
Finally put on my shoes, which is minuscule compared to what I've been doing since:
Prepping a bedroom for one of my best friends who is spending the night tonight. This involved:
-- moving various boxes, bed linens, pillows, pieces of art, clothes etc from that bedroom to either the open area upstairs or the two other bedrooms
-- trying to disassemble the queen bed frame (to no avail)
-- vacuuming the room
-- taking mattress protector off of full size bed that will go in the room (the queen mattress is now in New Haven, CT with DS2 for grad school starting this month)
-- moved said protector and other items to basement to do the ever-annoying white wash pre-treat effort
-- brought down a few items that I tossed down to the basement stair landing to the basement laundry land
-- started white wash
-- picked up several other laundry items off floor and random bins
TO DO:
Move stuff on stairs to upstairs
Do a more thorough vacuum and wipe down of upstairs bathroom
Try to consolidate items in upstairs open area

It's so preposterously annoying. Auto correct is "Auto incorrect". I frequently correct it. I really hate the unintended/incorrect "we're". Argh. I think I'm a grammar-policing parent. I will send out an apology via text to DS and DD.

goldenthreads - I have a graduate degree and I can't tell the difference between it's and its and I grew up before cellphones were a thing. I tell people I was sick the day it was taught, but I literally never remember being corrected in school. It's not even a UK/US thing - apparently, it just went right over my head! Good morning mouseanne! ClimbingPyramids - what a lot of work. I hope your friend appreciates it! 13. Find the roomba as it seems to have run off 14.
