First my bedroom. Then my garage. Then the yard. I have a lot to go through and get rid of. I’m challenged at following any major organizational guide… simple and very obvious are the only guidelines I seem to be able to keep up with. I was going to name this thread The great go through of 2023 but Needed the extra time left in 2022 to get going. Everyone Welcome!!💜

Great topic! I'm in! Dh and I worked on garage before my surgery Sept 29. Dh has still been working hard. His goal is being able to park two cars in garage before really cold weather starts. There are still boxes in garage, cluttering the main space, that I must go thru.

I just realized that I am going to have to get the required amount or at least the bare minimum done early before my day is totally redirected.

I cleaned the kitchen desk and went thru all the papers, junk mail, stuff there. Recycled bunch of weekly newspapers from hometown.

Yesterday evening I went to garage, grabbed one pile of papers, tossed all of it in recycle except two childhood drawings younger dd did. Also looked in bag with some things from job I retired from in February! Some things I'm taking to volunteer job next week

def6 I agree with NewLifeToday. This is my favorite sentence of the week. I've said it to myself a few times today.

Still going through stuff! Today dh worked on our dining room, I worked in kitchen. Tossed a 1983 medical dictionary. Ripped the cover off to recycle the paper. Dh and I rearranged some prints and paintings on the walls. Decided which prints, paintings we will take to outer banks houses to swap out. I went through papers on kitchen table and magazines, recycled most, put some things in pile to go to library. Our library has a magazine box, where people can leave magazines so others can pick up. Staff recycle things when they are very outdated.

Congrats joyinvirginia For all you have done. I can just hear the momentum building as you work through the house. I’ve been working with my wardrobe lately. Trying to update it. I’ve been watching videos on fashion so hopefully I will gain some insight on what could go.

Hi Def6, hope the wardrobe work is going well. Sunday I went thru two small boxes, recycled some paper, pulled out a couple childhood memory things and put in a file folder, not ready to toss yet. Pulled out some books to donate. Slow but making progress!

Congrats joyinvirginia for going through and finding things that need to go. I have a tall kitchen bag full of donations ready to go. I will take them tomorrow to the center.
