Morning! Hi Lennon - thanks for getting the weekend started!
Where to begin …. (This is not a oh my house is so fantastic and clean do i have a spot I can think of to clean….. Unfortunately, this is my house is a total disaster nearly as bad as it was when Mom lived with me and was at her hoarder glory. I suppose in that case starting anywhere would be a good thing).
It is amazing though that last night as I was planning my - I am going to kick this house into shape plan. I was so much more energized. This morning it is okay I need to do this and all I would like to do is go back to bed and pull covers over head.
I am going to take the pfffft way out for starting and start with some breakfast. I need protein. I ate a bunch of Christmas candy last night and I am sick as a dog. I normally don’t each much sweets as diabetes runs in my family but so far I have avoided it by watching and being careful. I tossed the rest of the candy in the trash.

No my house is not as bad as it was when Mom lived here as I was thinking about my now exercise room that had been filled up to my chin level like someone shut all the doors and took roof off house and just poured junk into room. I remember that room was solid and mom used to open door and just toss stuff into it. When she had to go to health center after breaking her ankle. It took 43 huge bags of trash, and more than that bags of donate to even get the room so I could see the floor. It was like boxes of QVC stuff floating on target bags and just general trash. I had to stand outside of door and pick one item at a time until I could get in room and work from there. So house is not that bad it is cluttered and needs cleaned but I can see the floor and walk around the house and go into all the room. I think on the scale I am at a 2.5 or there abouts. I can do this…. I have cat helpers - what more could I ask for I will be back after breakfast and first up is laundry and trash (the old standbys). Followed by more trash and dishes.

Morning TwinkleToes . Thank you for the moral support! You are getting a lot done! So far I have done 3 bags of trash and 1 bag of recycle. I decided to hold off on breakfast until the sun was at least up as I hate sitting in McDs parking lot in pitch dark eating breakfast. Instead of breakfast I took the healthy option (/s - sarcasm) and drank some diet coke while I grumbled around tossing trash and sorting laundry. I am so glad I moved my grocery pick up to later in the day. I originally moved it so i could get a hot rotisserie chicken which will be an early dinner. I think I will do the last of the trash in this area and then head out for breakfast. I want to post my inspiration (?) for this weekend. When I get really stressed, depressed, and upset it is very obvious in my house. Literally you can see how I am doing by how the house looks no matter what I might say. Oh things are fine doing well (as the burning dumpster fire floats by in the tsunami of disaster). So this weekend I am trying it the other way. I am trying to lift my spirts by lifting the house. I can do this as I am on holiday.

Good morning TML and TT! Thanks for starting the thread lennon!
filled up to my chin level like someone shut all the doors and took roof off house and just poured junk into room.
This is a very strong visual TML, I can picture this happening! It sounds like you are energized by the idea of two weeks off, so I hope that after you get trash out you can make some kind of plan, like which room to work on or else what job to do each day so you can track your progress. I know how fast time can go by and when we feel like we have many days to accomplish something too often we wait until the last day and then wonder where the time went. (Definitely, me.) Think of how great you'll feel if you can get a lot done by half way through your vacation time!
And I think the state of our homes influences the way we feel and the way we feel influences our homes. I know that over the years I was de-hoarding my condo there was a real lift in spirits because the accomplishment made me feel so good. Here in the house the number of things I have isn't such a problem, it's my habit of making messes as I do things which then have to be cleaned up, and cleaning in general--it just feels impossible to do the amount of cleaning it would take to have this house looking nice everywhere at the same time. But that doesn't mean I can't work on it and make it better!
But first, breakfast...

Good morning PS!
my house hasn’t been clean all at the same time for about 20 years
Thank you TT, it comes back to the idea that someone like me who isn't in the habit of cleaning feels so surprised and discouraged that I clean something and then IT GETS DIRTY AGAIN! And needs cleaning AGAIN! How can that be?

Thinking back to the move here, i am guessing we took out 50 contractor bags full of stuff. Now bear in mind we were in a 2 room apartment with no garage. I only managed to keep a small area decent where i sat. I was proud of that area but the rest was outta control.
We have been here 3 months now. DH has been back to his old self ordering things online and boxes showing up. It feels like i am on the train ride again to Hoarderdoom. Is there a place we can stop off before the town of Hoarderdoom?
On a more positive note yesterday we had 2 boxes in here to go out, so i suggested we go for a walk, but on the way i made a stop in the garage for another bunch of things as which point he suggested we just get the car. So, we took at least 12 boxes to the trash recycling as it was dark and no one really sees at night. He knows i want to get the car in there for the big snow storms that will come so maybe today we will sprnd some time packing things to the edges Ha, everytime someone opens a garage my neck twistes to see how much they have in there. Many are completely filled, as in no way will their car get in this year. But some are skilled at loading things up the walls in a balancing act. I envoy those spaces.
A few apartments have huge Christmas trees in the windows which is nice to see at night. At close to 2K a month for rent people can afford a nice tree and some decoration's are nice to see.
Here, as we are not as affluent the heat has barely been on on the sunny days because even in December it really warms the roof and as we have 6 windows and 2 patio doors it pours in. I have been buying the 32 degree brand of clothing from Costco as its really been a good few years since i had any cold weather clothing, it wasn't needed before but here it is and i can recommend as very comfortable isnyone is needing warm under layers.
To Do
A nice pile of dishes Tidy and take more things out to trash Clean in the bathroom Try and put the TV stand together that DH bought.

Good morning oust!
That's good that you're emptying out the garage--I look at open garages here too, just out of curiosity. I did see one that was full to the door of stuff, no car. Of course, there might be more of those, remember that the reason people open the large door that you can see through is that they're taking their car in and out. If the place is full they probably just go in the small door to get things (or to add things...). I wish I had a garage, I could put the lawn mower in there and not have to bring it up and down the basement steps all the time. I guess that would be a waste of space to have a whole garage just for yard tools though--a little secure shed would be nice.
Next:
10 minutes on paper 10 minutes on fridge cleaning Wash more dishes Delete 30 emails
