Diane, they tell me chemo induced neuropathy can sometimes heal so I have been using my hiking walking stick as a cane for balance. I can walk on it but if I am on it more than 15 mins it goes from numb to pain. Thats with 2 prescriptions and 3 vitamins. I'm not complaining - just fact. Living my life the best I can.

I am reallly proud of myself for not letting it lay around for a month like I did last year. Stand a box routing away the very few decorations I put out this year. That's a big win TT! I'm sorry to hear your FIL is in hospice, is he still at home?

Wow, I didn't know that the numbness would turn to pain, that means you can't be on your feet a lot when you have that. It's weird, I sometimes get pain in my feet when I'm walking and it goes the other way--it'll hurt, and I'll start thinking, how am I going to be able to make it all the way home, but as I keep walking the pain turns to partial numbness and then I'm able to walk with no trouble. Of course, then when I get home, it turns to pain again. Nerve pain can be really bad.

… I saw this joke where - Getting injured while young - lists off tons of dangerous stuff. Getting injured while old - sits too long, coughs, and in my case picks up Iphone from a bad angle while trying to shut off wake up alarm. … Oh for the days when I fell down a very very tall cliff face rock climbing (PSA - free climbing may seem fun but it also can be deadly). We used gear most of the day but decided to do a bit of free climbing at the end and my hand hold crumbled. I fell for quite a while before I hit a ledge, then another ledge, and then ended up rolling down the side of mountain all the way into the valley laying face down with dirt in mouth. I could hear friends screaming omg (TML’s real name) is dead. Then I sat up spit out dirt and was fine except for a bruise on hip where it took the second ledge hit. The first ledge was across shoulder blades on back - I had enough muscle from rowing those days that it didnt do much - head or neck and I would have been ☠️. My Dr when she saw bruise on hip (size of skillet) later was - you are an idiot and should be dead. TML is on 11 Plus life and yet I am having wrist issues from picking up Iphone wrong. And here I was wanting to try rock climbing & -not at one of the indoor places- at my ripe “young” age of 61. Hmmm I might want to rethink that. Altho after watching my Dad, Mom & DMil and others…. Maybe it’s better to engage in activities like that at a much older age than go thru what these Octogenarians are going thru or went thru. Sounds like you were incredibly strong & active…and that darn iPhone … Forgot to mention, 3 bags to outside trash can Meds to dog Fed dog Planned meals for today. Completed a work project that I had put off. DS is better today! Yay! Drank 3 glasses of water, so far Took morning meds Took allergy med at work about 2:30pm. After some paper scanning, I will start on another work project that I’ve been needing to get to. BBL. Cd

I have used 9 plus 2 more if my count-is current.
Well, then you have lots more stories to tell. Besides your rock climbing fall and your serious car crash!
I ordered a small pry bar, one tool I did not have but should, so I could try to take apart one of the cabinets in the basement. But being me, I managed to stab my finger with the scissors I was using to take off the shrink-wrapped plastic from it--TML has dramatic accidents, I'm more the "death of a thousand (minor) cuts" kind of person since I rarely leave my house..Diane
dtesposito sorry you stabbed yourself with the scissors. But I must say, that statement about “death of a thousand (minor) cuts” is just too funny!!! TwinkleToes You are doing great!! peaceseeker. Sorry to hear about the neuropathy. Sounds very painful. Just the sciatica I had the past couple days were bad enough.

And here I was wanting to try rock climbing
You guys are way more adventurous than I am, I am not comfortable with heights and there is no way anyone could ever get me to try rock climbing--at any age!
I got my gas bill today--wow, it has gone up! And this bill is for the period that ends 3 days before this weekend's cold snap, so it doesn't even include that. I'd better save my pennies (and dollars) to get through this winter. Of course, this next week of 45 degrees will also be in the next bill so maybe it will balance out the 3 really cold days.

hi everypony! so glad we all got through the holiday weekend! I missed you all!!!
I got home two hours ago and will be leaving in a couple hours to go back to my folks and meet LR and her DH. They will say hi and then drive me back to my house and they will look at the decorations. It would be nice if I could clear off the DR table and put the wrapping stuff away. Actually it would be nice if I could wrap a couple of gifts first.
right now kitty is on my lap. I came and visited him every day. saw DVD as well. we both needed the respite from family .
TML I have a very similar need to bring my kitchen to a place that it is easy for me to stay on plan. I was off for three days--DM had all the sweets on a counter and I was unable to resist. Story of my life at my folks! I told her this was why I was not staying all week (her fantasy) and she packed them all up. She has never really understood my eating disorder. I know she means well. But honestly it is getting to be a more serious problem since I found out I have a fatty liver.
other than this, it was one of the most pleasant holidays we have had. It was interesting to watch myself dip into a mental/emotional space that made it so difficult to communicate as I got overwhelmed. My next goal is to give myself a time out before I experience these symptoms.
DONE: unloaded the car arrange tonight's activities checked online balance checked email drank some caffeine
NEXT UP: ping pong pickup

Time for dinner, and then I'll get ready for bed. I'm pretty happy with what I got done today, now I have to decide if I'm going to shop this week. I don't need much but I feel like I should get water, plus there's possible rain on every single day of the next week starting Thursday afternoon, so it would have to be tomorrow or Thursday morning. I made a list just in case I can make myself go tomorrow.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

peaceseeker do you have a rollator. I inherited Mom’s and then got one of my own plus a hybrid walker. Rollator linkI would not suggest getting one online. There are tons of kinds of rollators with various prices and it is best to see if a medical supply place is close by so you can try them and and see which one is the most comfy. The way I use mine is multiple - I have two in house (Mom’s old one that got beaten up when we took it on an airline), mine which is larger and is used in house, and the hybrid walker I have in garage (it has wheels and seat but no brakes or basket) that folds up really easy and I toss in car trunk. I have difficulty standing for long periods of time so i have Mom’s in kitchen and I use it to sit on when i do dished, sort fridge, cook, and etc. I stand and sit and stand and sit. The larger one I use around the house. This one I got so it would fit a clothes basket on seat. So i put clothes basket on seat and roll it around when i am moving stuff or putting up clothes and doing laundry. Also I use it as a seat around the house as well when I am sorting thing and etc. Originally I thought it would replace Mom’s broken one but everytime i was in kitchen i had to go look for where i had it last and it is much nicer to just have that one in kitchen as i use it a lot. The hybrid walker I use if I am going out somewhere and there is no way of knowing if I will be stuck in a line somewhere and need to sit. I used it election day for voting. Also I sometimes have it out of car when i pick up groceries curbside so i can fill it full of groceries on seat and use it to move stuff in garage. I don’t see the hybrid one around - it has four wheels and a fold down seat but no brakes and it is very light and folds flat. The reason I got it for car is that the larger rollator i got for indoor outdoor is a pain since it is larger to get in and out of car and Mom’s is broke so instead of getting a third one I got the hybrid which was cheaper and a lot lighter. Mom used to use a 3 wheel rollator for car but it didnt have seat and I gave it away to a friend with a bad leg who needed it short term to decrease weight on leg. mylittlescholar I am trying really hard to get my kitchen and food planning under control. If i could eat them, I would not be able to resist them either. My being gluten free and dairy free makes it difficult to just get something easily.
