Good afternoon everypony!
I am trying not to get drawn into the drama that comes with a break up and custody battle. Just had a session with my tdoc and I will practice asking what do you need from me right now?
I am hungry! but only clear fluids today.
oust, is your pain in the lower right quadrant? because the hunched over old lady walk is actually a symptom specific to appendicitis. A friend of my was dismissed from the ER, but a doctor saw her walking out and brought her back for emergency surgery.
DONE: tea put clean dishes away took meds
updated log
checked online balance checked email checked calendar
washed up and got dressed had appt
NEXT UP: nap

Hi scholar and reve!
Once again I did a little this evening, trying to keep the second floor uncluttered. I'm watching too much cable news again, I need to dial that back a little.
Good night all, see you in the morning!

I did get all the everyday basics done---tidy kitchen after breakfast, make bed, empty BR trash, take trash outside, do both cat pans, start wash if needed, deal with mail.
Put together a small storage cube, fill, and put into the linen closet. Unpack big Chewy order.
Put away some things in bedroom. Talked on phone with my BFF in CT.
Used up some old food in freezer.

Yes, the master bathroom demolition started at 8am, yesterday. This was a decision that my husband decided to do on Monday morning. I met him during my lunch on Monday at a surplus store to look for tile & bathroom vanities.
DH wanted to have our gnarly bathtub removed & just have a shower & no bathtub in that room. He also complained of other problems in that bathroom. Like: toilet too close to bathtub & wants cabinet removed. (Cabinet is hard to describe but I liked it). It’s complicated about the guy who is doing it—his wife has cancer & is on the hospital. She was in a coma over most the weekend & now she has come out of the coma. He starts his jobs at 8am so he can get back to his wife at 5pm every day.
That’s too early for me, but I agreed to it.
Anyway, we are having our brand new toilet removed & reinstalled a few more inches away from where our new shower will be. I said ok to the plans he already made to remove the cabinet & was very upset about removing our already beautiful vanity & pretty shell shaped sinks. And, really I had wanted to keep the cabinet but DH has always hated it. There isn’t a closet or any other place to have towels. That’s where removing our vanity came in. The idea is to have more drawers under the middle area where it is open. (Like for a chair to sit & use to put makeup on. I never had a chair there. So I thought we could just redo the cabinet part of our vanity & add a cabinet or something under that area. Also, I am very short & Im still concerned about not being able to have another vanity & sinks that are at a lower height like these are so I can brush my teeth without having my boobies sitting on top of the counter & getting toothpaste etc on my shirt. Only very short women will understand what I’m talking about. These days they are making the height higher & it’s uncomfortable for me to brush my teeth, etc. Hotels, others homes, etc.
DH understood that was my main requirement. Then when shopping discovered that vanities that have legs we can cut off will be the right height.
I am not a happy camper & won’t be until we have the issue resolved as there are very few choices that have the legs that we can cut off.
DH & I are just not a good team lately. He thinks that I don’t have confidence in him & I think he doesn’t in me.
We agreed that we did not want to redo the floors & everything else for when we sale our home & don’t want to make bathroom into a handicap bathroom. Yet, it seems to me that DH is asking others for advice & decorating ideas. He has not given me a chance & well honestly I don’t have time to shop with working full time. I didn’t think all this needed to be done right now, but DH wanted it done now while we still have the Capsule & not have everything put away. While furniture is easier to move & we have less to move. I wanted more normalcy 1st & to enjoy our floors. I didn’t see the need to rush. To completely redo our home right now. Tge timing is very bad for me. I have monster paperwork worried with DMom & money issues coming up & tax issues coming up with her. I need to address these things now! It will take a lot of time. He states to let my oldest DrBro handle it & send everything to him. I just can’t send the many disorganized boxes/bags to him & will end up being me doing everything anyway & harder without everything here & he is in a different state. He will be staying we need attorney & accountant here in my state anyway.
All is complicated but I’m sure our home will look great when all is done. We have more to go.
So, the window is being removed from the master bath, bathtub, toilet , cabinet & vanity has been removed. All hauled off. Along with the bed & mattresses & a set of shelves we were going to have hauled off & we’re sitting outside. The old toilet was picked up by our Once a month bulky item pick up, yesterday.
I am not happy with inability to enjoy new floors as much had been covered up now. And bathroom new tile some had to be removed. That bathroom is a disaster area.
One wonderful thing, the contractor agreed with me that a particular door had mold on it & especially due to where it was located was a priority 1 to remove the mold. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was about that!!! DH had made it low priority & thought other moldy areas were more important to address first. So happy that was taken care of yesterday! [ubr] We have lots more to do than that bathroom.
That’s twice now the contractor has agreed with me.
Anyway, I know that this is s lot of stupid complaining but I don’t think that I’m the only one that wouldn’t be happy if they were in my shoes right now.
Normally, redecorating is something I would think that you have choices v& don’t just pick because there’s only a couple choices. I think it could be planned out more. Oh well.
This too will pass & at this point I just do badly want my home back that now I’m willing to let DH just go everything & choose whatever he wants. After all, he has been the most wonderful person in the world to my parents!!!! I can never do enough for him!!
Me speaking to myself now; So shut up, Cando, and be happy. Your home will be fantastic when it’s done!

ohblondie - glad your mom is OK - so easy to fall! cando I sympathize -we are going through a bathroom renovation that has been "in my head" for many years and took quite a few months to get in all we wanted for it. We were actually trying to get rid of the type of sinks you describe hitting me in the chest every time I brushed my teeth! Do stand your ground on at least getting in things that don't make your experience worse! Maybe taste wise - you have to lean toward what is available but there is no reason that you should be uncomfortable "doing your business" in the morning, afternoon and evening! My DM and I planned a bathroom remodel at her place out of state. We just ordered what was available online from a big box store (looked at it here in our state if we could) and ordered it for pick-up there. If it is any comfort - the bathroom looks terrific and it is the best bathroom in the house. I know it is a painful process but I hope you will enjoy the results. Your poor contractor dealing with trying to work full time and care for his wife. I'm glad you could accommodate his schedule. We are fortunate to have a door to the outside from the master so we unlock all the doors needed by 6:30 and let them do their thing. . Your guy is moving so fast - you may be in your new bathroom before I'm in ours!! Sending hugs and patience.......

Good morning ohblondie and cando!
Cando, ugh, I hoped you'd get a break before more construction, but at least this way once it's over, it's over. Hopefully you will be happy with the bathroom once it's done.
I did get a smile out of this:
Im still concerned about not being able to have another vanity & sinks that are at a lower height like these are so I can brush my teeth without having my boobies sitting on top of the counter
Forecast high for today is 55!

I took the dog for a walk around the block. Her legs are really bad now, that's about all she can manage without tiring out. She got to briefly see one of the neighbors so that made her happy.
Now I will have lunch.
