HI everyone I have not posted since my shell-shocked post on my heating bill! Thank you all so much for your kind support. It really helped.
I have to claim amnesty on looking back.
Unfortunately the extra amount is because they messed up my billing for not charging me for a service for nearly one year. THere is no way I would have ever know that by looking at the bill. So then a lump sum!! I am going to contact my state's power commission, and my elected reps at the local, state and federal level. I am going to dispute paying at all but I doubt I'll win. so a new task to do. but I am going through the stages of grief I guess -- shock, anger maybe now in bargaining?
on a different note, I need advice on a simple matter. I bought some "unmentionables" as Radar O'Reilly would call women's underwear on Mash : ) I noticed I was over charged one dollar. four quarters. I am tempted to go to the store to get a refund but really that is eating up a lot of my time and worth more than one dollar. Should I just let it go??
I have been keeping up with the basics of dishes, litter, and my night routine. I did some pick up too. Met with my book club. taking puppy for walks. Sunset is getting later and later and I have been rushing out of work on time so I have had these glorious walks in the park. I am almost the only one there (it is still damp and cold here and one night it was snowing so hard the visibility was bad). but these are such beautiful times, I just hear the crunching snow and I watch puppy leap and nose dive with total joy.
I am behind on lots of stuff work and home wise. My goal today is to pay this pay period's bills.
I kind of want to create a daily to do list but I think that is Procratin-work - as it is worthy to do, but other things are more pressing and critical. and will help my life more!
I have a chaos meeting looming ahead...sigh. but only one more meeting today.

Good morning scholar and bree!
Scholar, I saw a headline this morning that a ski resort had to temporarily close because of too much snow! Who ever heard of that!
Bree, the dollar overcharge is a hard one--I always look at the principle of the thing--that's why I insist on sending messages to companies about mistakes on their websites or problems I had with orders, when I know that people really don't care! It makes ME feel better to address them, because people should care! But, there are times when I realize it's bothering me out of all proportion and I should just forget some things. So, I guess it depends on how much it bothers you. If it's a special trip to a store in an area you don't usually go, then yes, you would probably spend as much in gas to go. I would like to think you would be letting the store know about their error so they could try not to make the error in the future, but realistically--they probably don't care! And that is my pessimistic view of things at the moment...
Oh, and on a more positive note, my 2 replacement bags of bird seed were delivered last night, in the dark, so someone must have had a flashlight to find the correct house!
Next:
Take dog out and feed her 10 minutes PEEPing on first floor Clean downstairs toilet and sink Check for mail and packages

((( bree))) I am so sorry you are having to deal with that! everyone in California is shell shocked right now as PG&E passes on the $$$$$$$ judgment against them for negligence causing the fires. We are all bundling up and turning the heat way down, BUT our cold is in the 40s and 50s. re: the dollar--I think it is definitely worth fighting for help with that $300 bill. And I agree with Diane, I think whether to fight for the dollar depends on how much it would bug you. My personality is principles, shrinciples, so it wouldn't bother me. I wish I was more motivated to address stuff like that!

Well scholar, it looks like you're having a productive day!
I've kind of pooped out, my back and side are hurting a lot today. I was thinking I hope it feels better by tomorrow if there's a ton of snow to shovel, but I'm afraid that's not going to happen. Last night the forecast that I watch the most said "5-8 inches likely." This morning when I checked, it had changed to "3-5 inches" and just now I checked again and it is down to "1-3 inches." Oh well.
I think I will cook some sweet potatoes so I can have some for dinner.

yes I have been able to work pretty steadily. ready for a break. I'm getting to the dusty part! unfortunately the air filter has three prongs but the plugs are the old style. So I need to get the vacuum cleaner out.
I am packing carefully, but I am not sorting at all, so every box is a mish mash. I am taking pictures and labeling where the stuff came from, so that might help a little bit. Its a small room at least. But everything is dirty. DVD's ex was a hoarder, and nopony cleaned anything. So I have been cleaning up since I moved in seven months ago.
DONE: DVD to pick up more boxes pack clothing not in rotation decide on workflow begin the process one small bookself done the top of the desk in the closet done two small bins of DVD's stuff addressed hot beverage consumed laundry flipped
clothes hung
NEXT UP: fold the rest of the laundry and put away eat a popsicle
