Goal one accomplished! I got my messy car cleaned out today. I can't tell you guys how many days in a row I have been putting this off. The dreaded tax return is on the agenda for tomorrow and Monday.

NEXT 4.5 goals:
I. Pack/childproof as much as we can in the guest room. Vacuum. Clean kid furnishings. Store some "house" items neatly. DONE
Additional fallout: - go through three boxes of my stuff
- go through two more boxes of DVD's stuff--DONE
- pack one more box
- decide what to do with DVD's papers
- go through another rack of my clothes
- find a place for rolling scrapbook totes--DONE
II. create a pathway for kitty - purchase/order cat door
- consolidate items/boxes in BBQ room--IN PROCESS
- move bins to make a path
- rearrange furniture in my room to make door accessible again
III. do accounting for DStepSon
IV. set up a shelf near the window for seedlings--which may trigger a big kitchen reorganization
V. I am adding a new practice to my chart: a weekly review of paperwork using David Allen' Getting Things Done method. This week I am doing catch up, reviewing a multitude of "standing files" and creating a new Action Items list. Hopefully I will be able to cut back to once a week soon.

Hannah and scholar, you have both already accomplished something!
Welcome momof3, good luck with your living room shelves--what kind of things do you have on them?
I decided I'm going to report once a week, so tomorrow, the 7th.

The tax forms have been filled in. I like to let the dust settle and then go over them again with fresh eyes before I make copies and file them. Voting on a tax referendum and a trip to the grocery store is on the agenda for tomorrow, and I want to bag up some clothing for either the trash or donation. When the cupboard they are in is empty, I want to store some craft supplies in it.

Have worked only on #1. Progress update:
1. File taxes. Downloaded software and started doing entries. 3/7 2. Clear the table of its various piles--mostly paper. 3. Clear the northwest corner of the bedroom. Right now it's unwalkable. So is most of the rest of that floor, but that'll be a good start. 4. Read/work on Buried in Treasures every day.

I do the same thing hannah, I finish my tax forms and then wait a day or two until my brain recovers and then go over everything again, just to be sure.
Good for you and also for golden for getting started on taxes early!
I am ready for my first report but I'll have to adjust my list so I can post it.

Okay, the big news is that I did 10 minutes of cleaning. Pretty sad when that's the headline news item. I cleaned corners and edges of the built-in tub. I also did 30 minutes on the basement, 10 minutes cleaning the plant room, posted 5 books for trading, 50 minutes on book site data and sent an email to the handyman 4 days ago, to which he has not yet responded. And, I finished my March seed schedule, so I'm ready to plant some seeds except that I should probably make more paper seed pots before I do that.
1. CLOTHING--GOAL--I will alter 2 items so I can wear them, and I will find some pants to wear other than jeans.
2. CLEANING--other than routine things GOAL 3 hours remaining from last challenge (10 minutes done this week)
3. BASEMENT--GOAL 30 minutes (30 minutes done this week)
4. FRIDGE CLEANING
5. PLANT ROOM CLEANING 10 minutes done so far
6. POST MORE BOOKS FOR TRADING GOAL of 5 (5 done this week)
7. READ BOOKS FROM MY OWN STASH GOAL of 2
8. PLANT REPOTTING and CUTTINGS--GOAL--8 plants or cuttings
9. ENCLOSED SPACES GOAL--Clean out the kitchen bins in the built-in cupboard upstairs, and clean out under both kitchen sinks, upstairs and down.
10. DATA ENTRY ON BOOK SITE 50 minutes done so far
11. MAKE SCHEDULE FOR INDOOR PLANTING FOR MARCH This project is done!
12. USE SEED SCHEDULE to plant appropriate seeds during weeks 1,2,3,4 of March. I'm sure I'll plant something in April too but March is the big one.
13. CONTACT HANDYMAN and get a firm commitment for spring. One email sent 3/4
14. TBD
15. TBD

Today I cut 2 pair of new pajama pants to the correct length and hand hemmed one of them. Also trashed one decrepit old shirt. catcats

Catcats, good for you for getting the sewing done, that is one of the jobs I hate and I always leave it until the last minute, when my current clothes are falling apart and I can't wait any longer. Hmm, sewing and cleaning--which one of those do I procrastinate on the most? They are a tie.
I did prepare my seedling table and pots though, so I'm ready to plant seeds today or tomorrow.
And I think I chose my first of two books to read--I need to take a closer look at it before deciding for sure.

Scholar that book sounds familiar, I wonder if I read it ages ago...
Okay, here is the report that I was supposed to do 2 days ago.
I did 20 minutes on basement cleaning, 30 minutes on book site data and 40 minutes on planting seeds--I did the week 1 seeds plus several extra annuals because I got the idea that I could plant some early in large pots and put them outside when it's warmer, but since they're in pots I can take them in if we have a late frost. To get a head start on blooms for the bees! I also cleaned out under the upstairs kitchen sink.
1. CLOTHING--GOAL--I will alter 2 items so I can wear them, and I will find some pants to wear other than jeans.
2. CLEANING--other than routine things GOAL 3 hours remaining from last challenge (10 minutes done this week)
3. BASEMENT--remaining on GOAL 10 minutes
4. FRIDGE CLEANING
5. PLANT ROOM CLEANING 10 minutes done so far
6. POST MORE BOOKS FOR TRADING GOAL of 5 (5 done this week)
7. READ BOOKS FROM MY OWN STASH GOAL of 2 Started a book
8. PLANT REPOTTING and CUTTINGS--GOAL--8 plants or cuttings
9. ENCLOSED SPACES GOAL--Clean out the kitchen bins in the built-in cupboard upstairs, and clean out under both kitchen sinks, upstairs and down. Underneath one kitchen sink cleaned out
10. DATA ENTRY ON BOOK SITE 1 hour, 10 minutes done so far
11. MAKE SCHEDULE FOR INDOOR PLANTING FOR MARCH This project is done!
12. USE SEED SCHEDULE to plant appropriate seeds during weeks 1,2,3,4 of March. Week 1 done, plus extras
13. CONTACT HANDYMAN and get a firm commitment for spring. One email sent 3/4 (No reply yet from handyman)
14. TBD

Progress update:
1. File taxes. Downloaded software and started doing entries. 3/7 Did some more work (9 minutes), then hit a roadblock. Wrote down stuff to find. 3/15 Found last year's filing in my account and downloaded it. 3/16 2. Clear the table of its various piles--mostly paper. 3. Clear the northwest corner of the bedroom. Right now it's unwalkable. So is most of the rest of that floor, but that'll be a good start. I cleared something out of there a few days ago. It's a little better. 4. Read/work on Buried in Treasures every day.

Today I worked a lot in my bedroom. I packed currently unused clothing into storage cubes which still need to be relocated. Threw away some junky things. Removed a plethora of plastic bags from the room. Got the large plastic flat storage bag from under the bed. It can keep things corralled in the finished attic. Now there is very little under the bed. Soon, I hope to be able to use my new Roomba and it will be able to even go under the bed. I am pleased with getting this done.
