Water bottles are refilled (180) and stacked in milk crates in the powder room. That's a chore but they will last a good amount of time.

After my last list I decided to go do a few things in the yard. I stayed out for about 45 minutes, and would have stayed longer if my back didn't start hurting--NO mosquitoes! And chilly, so I purposely worked in the back sunny part of the yard so I wouldn't have to put a jacket on. I trimmed a lot of the polkweed plants and the woody nightshade that had taken over the fence. I left a lot of the trimmings back there because I have to mow the front and side on Monday and didn't know how much space the grass would take in the yard waste can. Then I collected some more seeds, filled up some plant water bottles from the rain barrel, and petted the dog from next door.
When I came inside the dog had gotten up from her bed and was waiting for me at the back door, so I asked if she wanted to go out. No, so I gave her some food. After about 10 minutes she changed her mind and wanted to go out...so we went, and she had a BM, and came back up the stairs without any help although you could tell she wasn't as steady as usual.
Now I'm tired, although there is still time to get some things done, maybe I can do sitting down things.

Diane, I'm glad your dog is taking the steps a little more easily now. Maybe she will be OK until the vet appointment. Aging animals can be such a worry. Aging people too, . The dailies and a trash and recycling run are done. Handsoap bottles are refilled. A load of wash is waiting to go into the dryer. Mail is in and processed. Another phone call with Chewy. Texting with my DD for a bit. A big order from Walmart was unpacked and put away. That took some time and made my back pretty bad. I made a large amount of American Goulash this morning. Had some for an early supper and more is in the fridge. Best of all, 2 containers of it are sitting in the freezer. I like to batch cook sometimes and stock the freezer. If I do it in the morning, it is pretty easy, and it helps when I am tired in the evening to just be able to reheat something. Hoping everyone has a productive and pleasant weekend. I am so sorry for poor Israel today. I have a friend whose DD is currently in Tel Aviv. She is worried. Hoping peace will return. catcats

Thanks catcats, I'm relieved too, I'm hoping that maybe she pulled a muscle or something and it's improving. I love to make things for the freezer too, I really need to start using my slow cooker now that the weather's getting cool--I used to love throwing a whole bunch of things in there and seeing how it came out! The only problem was that if something came out really good I didn't have a recipe to make it again!

I'm done for today, I'm eating dinner. I looked at the weather forecast and they have adjusted it to show the next 9 days as all being below 60! So I'm pretty sure I won't have to worry about mosquitoes anymore, although I probably shouldn't say that...
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

Good morning. Having kept myself accountable for two to three weeks, and it shows everywhere. Today is a new day. Going to do what I can, with whatever energy and motivation I can muster. Depression rots.
Going to play “Game of 100”. - I will count every item I put away, throw away, organize, fold, etc. until I get to 100. Basically, if I touch ann item annd deal with it effectively, it counts. After 100 items, I get a break to play on my iPad. It’s amazing how much progress I can make just dealing with 100 items at a time.
To do

Good morning TT! I love counting games! Sending you energy for a productive Sunday.
Last night was a little weird--the dog did NOT have to go out in the middle of the night, but instead of sleeping on her bed in the LR she slept on my bed again. She was lying on her left side, and that is the sore leg, so I woke up every hour or hour and a half and kept worrying that she was going to hurt the sore leg by lying in the same position all night. I didn't want to make her move because sometimes when I do that she thinks I'm telling her to get off the bed and I didn't want her to think that. But this morning I finally made her move and she was able to stand up and move to the other side. She didn't want to go out yet. So, I think I got a good number of hours of sleep but never more than 1.5 hours at a time.
Our weather is always like this--it goes from 90 degrees to 50 degrees within a couple of days, it's disorienting. It feels great, but when I come upstairs in the morning now it's 63 degrees on the second floor until the sun starts warming it up.

Diane, I am always so impressed by your loving care of your dog, many times at the expense of your own well-being like having your sleep interrupted. Between your sister and you that sweet dog surely hit the jackpot of best dog caretakers!
We caught 2 tiny mice last night. It was very chilly when we put them outside and of course I felt terrible. Each one was so disoriented. I need to find a better solution, some way of giving them a little shelter and warmth to help them adjust to the total sudden change in environment.
Today I will finish the front stairs.

Thank you danny, I'm just so grateful that I was faced with this after retirement, there would be no way I could take care of her if I had to be working right now. She wanted to go out a little while ago, and she's walking okay, the limp is very slight, so lying on her bad leg all night obviously didn't hurt it. My other worry with her being on the bed is that she has those strange movements when she sleeps, sometimes enough to make her fall off the bed is she's close to the edge--so I'm always checking to make sure her back isn't close to the edge. I guess it's no wonder that I'm not sleeping well.
For the last couple of hours I've been listening to the neighbor's Halloween decoration on their front porch. They have this 8 foot high skeleton/vampire thing that makes noise when someone approaches it. Well, it has taken on a life of its own and keeps going off all by itself every few minutes--there is no one on their porch! And the noise it makes is a clang, followed by screams, followed by evil laughter and a voice saying "rest in peace, friends!" I can hear it inside here with the windows closed, I'm so shocked that first of all, they haven't woken up and heard it and come out to shut it off, and second, that the picky neighbors on the other side of them haven't come by to complain!
My house has not been at baseline the last few days so the goal today is to get it solidly there.

I enjoy Halloween decorations as much as Christmas decorations but constant Halloween noises? No thanks.
After a little research I have a plan to transition the mice. I have a long dark green planter that I will set upside down between the fence and rosebushes. It won't be very noticeable. It will be raised a couple inches on rocks or wood pieces. A few rocks on top to keep it from blowing over in the wind. Underneath will be bedding suitable for small mammals. I will cut up some paper towel rolls for little hidey places. DD1 will enjoy adding some timothy hay, sunflower seeds and maybe bird seed and walnuts. We can release the mice at the edge of the planter. They can run underneath, have protection from rain or snow, some food and cozy bedding. They will have plenty of escape routes if other mice get a bit aggressive. They can stay there until they get over the shock of a totally new environment and then go explore the great outdoors when they are ready. Just as importantly DD1 and I will feel much better about putting them outside after their lives of comfort inside.

Danny, you're so thoughtful about the mice--mice are my number one fear--as in, if I get mice, I will not be able to kill them so what will I do? In summer I could catch them and put them outside but in winter they would freeze, especially if they were born inside and spent their whole lives there. This is why I would like to live in a rural area, I could never make a place for the mice outside, the neighbors would report me right away. Not to mention the mice would come back inside--I need to ask the handyman to check outside places to see if he finds anywhere that is a concern. Of course, I have to clear the plants away from the house before doing that...I know plants near the house gives mice shelter but I honestly believe that if they're going to find a way in they will find it with or without plants next to the house. I think your mice will be happier in their outdoor area, especially if you supply food!
And the Halloween noise is still going on...it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the same thing over, and over, and over...
