Thanks for starting the weekend work along Lennon. . Not the best start after a rubbish night and spending more than an hour tracking through the news videos from Gaza this morning💥🙆💥. Time to get my arsse out of bed. The other bookshelf can be emptied and dusted ready for putting the mat back under it later.. .▶▶Got that dusted off, two books to go, ... Will need to take time to look through the self help books before figuring out which of those rather dusty books are actually going to help me, rather than remind me of my shortcomings👀🔍 The books reminded me that while there is only me in this house it is effect housing the belongings of multiple "people" ▶ The person I was in the past, the person she wanted to be, the person I am today, the person I hope to be and the person I fear i might be....no wonder it's crowded in here🤦
.Brunch and washing up next.. . Rinse off my salad veg to remember to use it..

Good morning everyone! Thanks for starting the thread, lennon!
I'm waiting for the library to open, I figured I'd better go today since Monday morning will have to be for lawn mowing unless it rains. The dog did have to go out at around 1am, but I was able to sleep before that and then from 3 to 6 so I probably got 6+ hours of decent sleep. Her leg is the same, it seems to either hurt or be very weak when she first stands up, but after some steps she's able to walk okay.
while there is only me in this house it is effect housing the belongings of multiple "people" ▶ The person I was in the past, the person she wanted to be, the person I am today, the person I hope to be and the person I fear i might be....no wonder it's crowded in here
Decade, this is something we should make into a sign to keep in front of us while we're trying to reduce our hoards, this is it distilled down to a couple of lines.

~~~~~~~~~~~~ The books reminded me that while there is only me in this house it is effect housing the belongings of multiple "people" ▶ The person I was in the past, the person she wanted to be, the person I am today, the person I hope to be and the person I fear i might be....no wonder it's crowded in here🤦 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wow, decade, that is a brilliant insight!!! In terms of myself ~~
the person I was in the past ~~ (grey) she is gone, just a memory the person she wanted to be ~~ (pink) a bright shiny dream (yellow wouldn't show up) the person I am today ~~ (blue) my underlying consistency, honesty and dependability the person I hope to be ~~ (green) positive growth the person I fear I might be ~~ (black) negative, destructive
Now, how to recognize, sort, change, decide on the keepers and what to release ~ the things inside myself as well as all the outside material stuff. These are exciting mental images, thank you so much!!
Handyman just cancelled, he had a bad night with his back. Today he was going to hang the garage shutters he scraped, primed and repainted. That's fine, no rush.
Instead of trying to follow my planned goals I'm going to hit the areas that look rough. There's quite a few to choose from. Front stairs to start.
Yesterday DD1 cleared a bit of an area in the family room. Now that it is more accessible DD2 can go thru things there. Most of it is her stuff. How can that be when she hasn't lived here in about 18 years? I can't even remember. I do know there is a large metal trunk that she used in college that still has her stuff in it. Some of her prom dresses that were headed to donation but paused (for years) in that area. Who knows what else is draped over a big chair? It will be a day of surprises. And hopefully no mice!
Hi everyone! The acceptance that you are not your fantasy selves is so important. I've found myself buying a lot less since I came to accept that about myself, and able to get rid of a lot of stuff too.
Done: Meal planned and ordered groceries Tidied and wiped down bedside table Load of laundry Watered plants Watered lilies Emptied bathroom trash Emptied living room trash Bagged up kitchen trash Changed towels middle floor Folded and bagged laundry Thrown out some expired food and some fabric softener that seems to have gone bad somehow Handle mail Laundry from machine to dryer Load of laundry 2 Achieved dining table zero
To do: Stack dinner dishes and run dishwasher Laundry from machine to dryer 2 Possible load of laundry 3 Laundry from machine to dryer 3 Achieved coffee table zero
Dinner is prepped and in the slowcooker. I've also agreed to take a bunch of my old mugs into work to replace some old busted ones in the staff room communal cupboard. Settling down for a quiet afternoon with a cozy blanket, mood lighting, scented candle lit....Great way to welcome myself to vacation!
Good morning danny and reve!
Danny, that's good that you have a break today from workers, have fun exploring your previously inaccessible room--maybe you'll find some buried treasures. I guess it would be better to just find stuff you can easily get rid of, though.
I went to the library, and the mailbox and the paper recycling bin. It's cold out! I wore my windbreaker and was too chilly, I should have had a sweatshirt on--but it feels so good to be cold for a change.
Now I'm eating breakfast and thinking about what to try to get done today. I feel like this week will be day to day, if the dog's legs get worse I'm going to have to ask the family down the street if they can bring us in to the vet sooner than Friday, if they can even give us an appointment on a day when they're available to drive us. I also need to take advantage of these next four days to do yard work since highs will be in the 50s and I'm sure the mosquitoes will not be as much of a problem. And I have to deal with the insurance agent on Monday to be sure I don't have to try to find another insurance company, and call for the furnace check and maybe gutter cleaning soon...and figure out if I still want the handyman to come over the next couple of weeks...
One day at a time, I guess.
DD2 really wanted to come help us today. Her family went out of town for the weekend. I had gently suggested that she needed to take these 2 days for herself. She needs her alone time more than most people. After sleeping in this morning she just texted me and kind of indicated that today might not be the day for her to come. I think she felt a little guilty. I assured her that there will be plenty of messes waiting for her help. So, now I have the day back to myself. And the sun is coming out!
I vacuumed the top half of the front stairs. I had to dust the small vacuum before I could use it.
Straightened lower front hall. Dusted baseboards where I could access them. One wall is stacked with potty pad boxes filled with old mail and kitchen extras. It looks neat and contained but they shouldn't be there. On top of the boxes all the way down the hall are many stuffed animals on display. I chose some that can go to donation. I need to get DD1 on board with that.
Did I say that yesterday I cleaned the powder room again? I can't remember. We need to finish putting the stored water bottles in there. It looks good.
Oh golly i never knew i could be so profound😁 ...Glad i only had a short list for outdoor jobs this afternoon, ticking off the to-do list was far better than thinking about all the other areas that still need weeding & pruning. Anyway, shower now,and must do▶ get stuff prepared for work tomorrow,▶ bring in laundry▶ get the dry landing mat back in place ready to set the bookshelves back on it
