DH's surgery went well. The tendon that holds the bicep in place was shredded but it is all fixed now. Keeping him still and quiet for 2 months will be the hard part.
I put a load of jeans in the wash. I filled up the sink with dirty dishes and hot soapy water. I better go wash them now - they had plenty of time to soak

That's good news about the surgery ohblondie, is he supposed to just sit and do nothing for a while? Or just not use that arm? That will be difficult for 2 months.
I had a long lunch/movie break and then I got another call from my shopping friend--this is the third one in a row, mostly about the cards she's sending out, so she really is feeling more like herself. She also walked longer today than she every did before, but she still feels like she's a long way away from moving to the assisted living area.
I've also made a list of some additional cards to send--there are so many people in such bad situations right now, it's just heart breaking.
Next:
Move laundry to dryer Feed dog and see if she wants to go out Tape bathroom window Wash some dishes

I hope everyone feeling not well including sick family members get to feeling better soon!!! I think I am going to start wearing a mask again - Covid is all over here and I really do not want to be sick over my holiday break. I have so much to do to reorganize my life and I can see myself waiting for this time all year and working hard to have it available and not filled with work items and then getting sick. I will say prayers for us all to be well and feeling better over the end of the year, holiday, Hanukah, Christmas season. I am putting the not cleaning but just getting things ready mind set to use. I have been prepping for future cleaning most of the night. I got this omg wonderful new dish drainer (yes you can tell I am old as I am all OMG over a dish drainer). It is the OXO dish drainer. What makes it wonderful - well it folds up and is just two pieces. The main piece which you can have been a flat tray, or fold up and have it for dishes with space under for cups, bowls, etc. The second piece is the silverware holder. So now i can use it then when i am done and all is put up, then it folds up and goes under the sink - slides in on its side. Takes up about 2 inches wide space. Then i have that counter top free. It is about 3/4 the size of my old dish drainer but i will just do dishes more often and keep them up so I can keep my counter top free more. I will go get link so people can see picture of it. Oxo dish rackThe link has a video. I had an old monster 1980s black wire rack with a black tray that drained into sink. I think it is one of Mom’s. The oxo doses not drain into sink but to not have it there all the time I will drain it myself and dry it with towel.

Hello reve and TML!
TML, I never stopped wearing my mask--of course it's not the most comfortable thing in the world but I got used to it and it just seems silly not to use such a simple way to protect yourself. Remember in the first winter of Covid when everyone was wearing a mask--how there were hardly any cases of flu? It helps protect against every respiratory thing, of which there are many every winter. Yes, use your mask!
The dog didn't want to go out at 4 but did at 5, which means she probably won't want to go at 8. But I'll see how it goes.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!
Diane

oust , great that you got your scooter. It must really be faster than walking, as you say. I have trouble reaching the bottom of the washing machine too. ! My washer is not as deep as the one my DD has. I would not be able to use hers easily at all ! bree ---Sorting out gloves and scarves and so on must be hard when puppy is around ! She is a sweet, crazy dog. I had 2 of those long ago. Mine were Goldens, Janet and Jessie. Today I did the daily things and took the trash to the curb. Then I showered and washed my hair, hung up a tiny load of clothes in the basement, and then did all of my Christmas cards ! Took me about 4 or 4 and 1/2 hours. Now I need to figure out where to go mail them soon. Still no phone call from the tax prep person. It was too cold anyhow to go out and weed so I guess it doesn't matter. But I do wish she would call soon. I have a few Christmas gifts to wrap , but only one person's need to be ready soon, like this weekend. @tml---Your new dish drainer sounds really nice ! My very best to everyone ! catcats

Morning everyone!!! I am still putting the idea of “no I am not cleaning it is just too much and I am to overwhelmed” in place where I am not cleaning just doing a little preparation work for potential future cleaning which might be me or someone I hire. So far it is working pretty good. It is the same baby steps I was doing before but with far less internal complaining and avoidance. I am not freezing up like I did when I was trying to push myself to work on the house. So now I am nope not going to do it - it is just too much for me to even think about but I can do a little bit to prep for future cleaning and the mystery person i might hire. (I am not thinking about hiring anyone unless it is to just do the deep cleaning as I am trying to keep things in hand where I know where stuff is going - no more having the house look good but nothing is where I know where it is - all a jumble in closets and cabinets). It is cold this morning and I have to go in to work (small yay - very very small not really meaning it yay). I much prefer working remotely and i get more done but the choice is not mine. Best Wishes for a good Wednesday to everyone and I will see you later in the day.

Good morning everyone!
Ohblondie, you have enough snow for a plow to go through? Wow, we haven't had that yet--there have been flurries numerous times, including yesterday when the snow quickly turned to rain so the little bit that had accumulated washed away.
TML, I'm glad you're finding the cleaning easier by pretending you're just preparing, whatever works! Unfortunately, I don't even pretend anymore with the deep cleaning, I am resigned to the fact that I just don't have the energy to do that now, or maybe ever if I keep having periods of leg or hip pain. But we just have to keep trying to do whatever we can do. Sorry you have to go in to work, I hope it's not for a useless meeting!
I had better sleep last night, the dog came in and immediately fell asleep, so she had a great night. I slept over a period of 8 hours with just a few wakeups, so, much better.
Diane

Good morning TML, I like your approach of "Just preparing" when faced with a chore that is overwhelming. I have a lot of these (or about 3 right now) to work through. I've already made on pass on my dining room table. I might switch to the next debacle to keep things interesting. Good morning Diane
