hi all. def6 it is 35 here, very gray! Diane glad you are getting some sleep. yesterday I left work early to do a zoom at home then walk puppy before the charity dinner. it was so wuthering heights! we walked to the cemetery which is a popular dog walking spot here, saw deer! (Diane I think the deer are out earlier than me now) and the bleakness of the view was actually beautiful in a wuthering heights way - skies of many shades of gray, empty branches, a dusting of snow, and many geese making noise overhead. puppy just loves the snow and was very happy, I pulled together an outfit for charity dinner. I have a basic dress that I fancy up with jacket choices or scarves and shiny bling and it ends up working nicely. the dinner was fun but when I got home I felt kind of blah from rich food, coffee and a glass of wine. but I slept really soundly! Yesterday I dropped off some donations -decor for a bday party - at first I thought should I pass these on to young relative family but remembered they dropped us from the party so no I will not be donating decor to a party I am not invited too! I also started donating stuff I may have passed on to them -- I only see them when asked to cheer on at an event and they have a lot more money than me! don't mean to sound bitter, just more aware I think. I have had a productive work meeting at home but I need to head in soon. today is our work christmas party but I don't have anything special to wear as far as I can remember! last night I left the dishes, so I did those, took out the trash to the curb, played out back with puppy, and have been working away. hope you all have a good day. I might go to a Christmas concert tonight, hard with work and puppy needs, but I could use some holiday joy in my life! I want to relish and celebrate this holy season

Hello womble and def!
I did go to the library and the mailbox. When I got home I saw that three of my favorite Christmas movies are on in a row so I will be watching them and working on things at the same time.
Maybe I can get some challenge things done.

Well, people are getting things done. Up to a point, so am I.
I drove up and mailed all my cards today and stopped at the grocery store. I bought a very few grocery items and the last 3 gift cards for the family. Tried to find some knitted caps or gloves but they didn't sell them. I needed them because the ones I ordered from Walmart for the church's Giving Tree are not going to come in time. Sunday is the last day. Soooooo, I put in an order to Walmart for some groceries and a few things for the Giving Tree which should be delivered this evening. Maybe I can skip next week's delivery.
I do have to wrap 3 small gifts later or tomorrow for my DD's BFF on Sunday. I really don't feel like doing that ! Started a small laundry load but I may not finish it today.
Wishing good things for everybody.

Good morning! Last night I got okay sleep, woke up lots of times but fell back right away, the dog was fine all night.
I'm going to work on yet more cards today, to deployed military people, since cards not mailed by this weekend will most likely not get to where they're going by Christmas--some areas get mail in 7-10 days but others take longer and because of what's going on in the Middle East I'm guessing there will be delays to many countries. I'll do one more walk to the mailbox tomorrow morning and consider the deployed cards done.
I also wanted to cut down a few more plants before the last yard waste pickup of the year which I think is next week, but I see in my email this morning that the village is switching waste removal companies, and I don't know if that's immediate or will happen at the beginning of the year, so I don't even know if there will be another pickup.
The forecast high today is 58 degrees!
Have a good day, everyone!
Diane

Didnt sleep well - up between 2-4am. Not sure why I managed to eat up more leftovers in the fridge - hurray! I did get one load of laundry done and part of the hallway cleared out
I have such demand resistance going on..... Hopefully taking my mom to a Fair Trade sale tomorrow
Ordered a tire yesterday and it should be delivered today Hopefully car will get fixed today - if not I will ask son to put the donut/spare tire on
I started watching a new youtube channel Mira's channel link: @peelingawaytheclutter
this woman had an overwhelmingly cluttered home. She tackled it step by step, clearing one small area at a time. They are the most realistic and inspirational videos.

Good morning Diane and everyone I had a big day filling up garbage cans, recycling and yard debris for trash day yesterday. Time to get a little more done now that my cans are empty. I might even put out the 6 foot long x 6 foot wide x 6 foot tall curbside household refuse pile near the road. (Rules say you can't put that out until the night before pick up) My neighbors pick through the pile and reduce it considerably.

A family friend is picking up my mom next friday and taking her to visit my dad. My goal is to have two bags of clothes for her to take to a local charity. I already have one bag ready. I am so excited because as I am pulling out bins to get my seasonal clothes ready - I am trying things on. So many items are just too big and not worth hanging onto. I am so sad in a way because I bought lovely skirts and pants from the Van Heusen outlets. they were reasonably priced, fit well, and I had the basics (black, navy, khaki and gray). Van Heusen is closed and I cannot replace them. Oh well - if this is the worst of my problems today then I am good!
Day is dragging here at work. I was going to order lunch but remembered I do not have a car. so I went to the little lunch shop and grabbed some pizza.
I am taking advantage of my lunch break and cleaning out my purse. I need to do this more often.
And depositing a check - must do that now!

I feel excited again to get going on decluttering.

goldenthreads Right? I feel like there might be light at the end of the tunnel! This process has taken her months. I have not watched all the videos so I do not know if she is getting rid of sentimental items or just regular stuff. Regardless - the few short videos I have watched were good.

ohblondie how did you lose the weight? Congrats and how fun to have clothes that are too big! yesterday was the work christmas party. they had really good food and I ate too much of it. it was really nicely decorated. after the party I came home and took puppy for a shortened walk (she had one at lunch too) to get to a christmas concert but I had the wrong day! I was kind of relieved actually, i was tired. worked a bit on my christmas card. need to finish today for sure I am so behind with Christmas. tomorrow i hope to get most of it done and ordered, I have no plans so I can head to the mall and also order stuff online work is very stressful today. I am home, no meetings! but I had a slow start as I was awake from about 4 am - 6am, I suspect a cat woke me up! so far today I have been working away on my work work. For lunch I set a timer and i put my outdoor decorations up. more subdued this year. two decorative trees that light up, they look very pretty w my style of house. it is warm here (48 F) and puppy is at daycare, so I had to do it. lunch will end soon, boo hoo, as I have some really hard work to do and chaos is sending me email upon email demanding to know where things are. I am very over extended and she discounts the time it takes to do a job, always telling me "it will take ten minutes." one project she took over --saying it would take her ten minutes -- took two weeks!! tonight I have a christmas party but should be home early. I will finish my card. I must!!!

Good afternoon everyone! Wow, this day is going fast. I worked on some cards in the morning, and did two short sessions in the yard, cutting back some plants, and finally rolling up and fastening the extra hose that I had outside to empty the water barrels--when it got cold I could barely bend it, so I waited until this warm day and it was much more pliable. It's sitting outside the basement door and I will bring it in next time I'm down there.
Then my new, small file cabinet came. It's for upstairs in the porch room where I write out all my mail, it fits under my work table and has only one file drawer, plus two small drawers for small supplies. I think it will help me keep things neater because the work table already has a printer on it and when I keep all my supplies on top of it there's no work surface. The cabinet needed to have the wheels installed, which I thought would mean just popping them on like some other things I have put together, but no, multiple parts and it took a while. Then I had to carry it upstairs, it wasn't too heavy but an odd shape and I have enough trouble these days just getting myself up the stairs, so it took some effort. It's really nice though, and I've never seen a piece of furniture packed more securely--it even had some metal frames around the cabinet to prevent damage, as well as plastic and styrofoam. It would have been almost impossible to damage this enroute.
Now I need to eat a late lunch.
Diane
