Good morning!
Thanks for starting the thread, lennon!
This morning at 4:15 the dog wanted to go out--this is the first time in many weeks that has happened. Plus, it's much later than usual, and since 4:15 is almost time to get up, I was going to just stay up but got back into bed in my clothes thinking I would read for a little bit. I fell back to sleep for a while, so in the end I got nearly 7 hours of sleep.
However, when we went outside I was shocked to see snow! I think the forecast yesterday said possible snow showers, but that usually doesn't happen and the snow melts on contact. Well, there was an inch of snow out there! And of course, I was half asleep with no gloves on and had to hang on to the snowy banister for dear life so that neither of us fell down the slippery stairs.
When I woke up again I went out to the front to shovel the inch of snow off the sidewalk and porch, but I haven't done the yard yet. I assume that since the dog went out at 4 she won't have to go out again until at least noon.
The snow looks so beautiful on the trees and all the many remaining plant stems in the yard.
Bree, I'm glad your bird friend just likes to sleep on your porch!

Happy Saturday lennon mylittlescholar and Diane and all to come Diane I was so happy to see my bird! Fresh snow is so beautiful I am having a slow start. The animals all slept in, even girlcat who is generally my alarm clock I have made a shopping list. I think 4 stops to make I have planned to walk puppy at 3 based on our weather conditions Also plan to make a crock pot soup Work on my dining room table. It is such a hotbed of activity! It is where I work from home and my desk for personal life and an easy place to fill up with mail etc. My house is small so I always say if I leave a teacup out it looks messy! I just want to have a clean and orderly home. My living room is there. The bathroom is there. Kitchen counter gets bogged down. Dining room table always getting cluttered. A possible project later this year might be to transform extra bedroom which is a dumping ground now back to a home office den. When DD was little I had it usable as a playroom den. So today’s plan So far I fed tribe and put clean dishes away and had breakfast Next Get ready Start crockpot soup Go to stores Walk puppy

Good morning bree and scholar!
Bree, I love the idea of turning your spare bedroom into an office! I love projects!
I went outside to the back yard but only cleared off the porch and the area at the bottom of the porch. The highs for today and the next three days are mid-30s so the snow on the sidewalk will melt, probably this afternoon. I gave the birds a container of unfrozen water to drink too. Then I swept off the upper porch and scooped the snow out of the seed pool so I could put the morning seed out there. One thing I love when there's fresh snow is that I can see animal tracks--there are rabbit tracks all over the yard! And I never see the rabbits, I guess they only come out at night now.
From the radar picture it looks like the light snow will end very soon. And next weekend looks like not only some snow, but very cold temps for several days--I hope the furnace guy comes this week, I'll feel better if he tells me the furnace is in good shape.
I'm going to rest for a short while and delete some emails while I do.

Hey folks!
Put away clean laundry Put away clean laundry 2 Emptied and PEEPed bag of bedroom miscellany Changed towels en suite Reorganised bedside table drawer Cleared some space on blanket box by actioning things that were left out "to figure out what to do with them later" Changed towels master bathroom Changed towels downstairs bathroom Changed towels kitchen PEEPed the medicines etc. I brought down from my bedside table Set up new towel hooks in master bathroom and relocated spare robe to there Took down tree and decorations, packed them all away
To do: I need to check if laundry on the dryer is ready to be cleared, and if so I've got another load to go on with all the towels I changed today Ideally, I'd like to get the new curtain up, and also have bought more toilet paper to go round and top up the bathrooms with

Oh , WOW, are my knees sore !!!
I did the dailies and then started on the Christmas tear-down. Three or four attic trips and I took down the Nativity sets from the Baker's rack and packed those away. Then I took down and packed away the little Christmas tree, with my DH's tiny train set, etc.---the cats had relocated some of those inch long cuties---and then I did the bin with Chrissy's needlepoint treasures. Took them up, one at a time as I finished them. Brought down the old cardboard chest for the tree ornaments---but I didn't --couldn't--attempt to do the tree today. Yesterday , I had gone up and down the basement steps too many times and today , it was the attic steps. My knees are howling. But I feel good about what was done. I also took outside the trash and the recycling. The bottom 3 steps were a bit icy from the freezing rain and I prayed and was careful, but it was a dumb thing thing to do. We have had a lot of cold rain today. I hope tomorrow is OK for driving and walking so I can get to Mass. If not, I can watch it online.
My best to all.
