Took a grocery bag of clothes to the Thrift store! Bought dust pan, it’s much better than the lost one. The join is better so you can sweep the last line of dust. Got milk. (Got milk? ) Didn’t buy junk food. Smashed new jar or little pickles putting away milk. Yet more glass smashed. I seem to smash everything these days. Have glass speck in toe, that I can’t get out (from before) in fact. Cleaned it up. Mostly. Sigh. Swept a few areas. Gathered recycling from bathroom and kitchen. Resting now. Todo: dry coats. Rescue cushion with vinegar on it. Clothes/shoes decluttering? Music. Walking dog. Read book. Other, braindump: dishes, more laundry. Clothes on table. Clothes etc on metal shelves. Plants? Trade jeans? Cut rags.

Good for you for not buying junk food, puppybox!
My shopping friend called again--another hour phone call. It was actually a chance to rest my hip which is starting to really hurt now. It's so discouraging, any kind of physical exertion ends up hurting something. My knee is no worse--or else I can't tell if it is, because the hip hurts more so that's what I'm feeling.
I'm going to do one more list and that will be it for today, it'll be time for dinner.

Oh a show a show! what show?
I walked the dog. Inside, The dog found food remnants I didn’t know were there, like a single old treat in my key holding dish and a small bit of something crunchy on the desk, no idea what that was, and she ate it. And she helped me realise trail mix shouldn’t be stored in the living room on the bookshelf. Usually I’m ok at keeping the place food free because I have visiting dogs and also rodents in the walls that will come out. But apparently we all missed stuff miss Nose found. I also practiced music.
I need to dry the coats after a little rest. I need to consult the list I made before as well.

Yes, animals remind us to put things away. Cats even more so, since they can jump up onto just about anything.
After dinner I did some PEEPing, but nothing else.
I'm going to get ready for bed early, I can't wait to lie down and rest this annoying hip.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

Popping in briefly.
Just as my dad's time in his current nursing home is winding down we connect with the family of a man across the hall. It is a former parishioner of my dad's. His wife and daughter were in and we all got to chatting and had a lovely visit. My dad performed the ceremony when the daughter got married and my mom was still talking about it today (the girl's wedding 20 plus years ago!!)
Visiting nursing homes and filling out applications is taking all of my free time. The only rooms that are available at the really good places are the memory care/dementia units. UGH
I dressed nicely today (white pants and one of my fave shirts) as I met a friend for lunch and had these tours. I put on an apron to cook dinner so I could wear the outfit again tomorrow (cheating I know). I found several pairs of sun glasses and reading glasses in the pockets. WHat the hey....
Temps were in the normal range today - and will be even cooler tomorrow.
I have wasted the evening binging on britbox. Maybe I will turn on the debate.....and maybe not.
HAve a good night everyone!

Good morning ohblondie--I don't remember reading that your father had to move to a new facility--is he going to a different level of care?
I wanted to go to the library today, and since my leg is iffy I figured I'd better not do any gardening first in case it makes it harder to walk there. However, there's a chance of rain starting right around the time the library opens and continuing most of the day, so I'll have to watch the radar and see what happens. The high is supposed to be mid-80s so I should be able to do my gardening later in the day.
I hope everyone has a good Friday!

hello! have not posted this week. did a quick read back. the knee talk is timely for me! this week has been kind of a blur. Sunday we had a big surprise bday party for a milestone birthday for a relative and it went really well! So that was a fun event, I just went ahead and ate freely, the food was so good! it was exciting to be part of a successful surprise and people were even in from out of town. lots of good love! the work week has been crazy; last week at work I had two huge deadlines and two huge projects and I was just spent trying to do it all, plus dealing with knee and mobility. So Monday morning this week we had a meeting first thing with Chaos and instead of thanking our team at all for all the truly heroic effort we put in on super mission critical projects the week before, she was just like where is this, where is that, why isn't this done. I am too old to be apologetic, I was just very matter of fact we are humans with human ability to get things done and we cannot clone ourselves. She is something else. I had my doc appt with the specialist this week. I was so stressed about it! I don't like going to the doc and I hate to get weighed..but it went well. they did not weigh me! I had a cortisone shot in knee, somewhat helping, doc seems to think that could be all I need. So I am going with that. i was so relieved after that visit that I celebrated that night and a bit this week, so now I have to get back to my more thoughtful eating. but on the way home from the doc I bought myself an ice cream! I am very overloaded with work this week and I am forgetting things, like I forgot to pay a bill, I forgot all about a project. I can just manage so much. Chaos was going to go on vacation next week and she cancelled and I truly almost cried. I was exuberant at the idea of her being gone. she is off today so a blessing. DD has continued to be such a huge help with puppy and house stuff. Last night she asked if we could get take out for dinner at a place she loves and I was so thrilled. I just don't like to cook. this morning I took puppy off to daycare, she was so energetic! it is a little cooler so that might have been why. cleaned the litter. took out the trash. started a load of laundry. did my work emails. I have a very busy workload right now! yesterday I was so productive just cuz there is so much to do! today I have to plow through a lot of work stuff. we also were assigned a huge new task yesterday. we don't have the staff to do it but we will just do something. I read a meme that said more eloquently something to the effect that don't sacrifice your life because your company won't hire full staff. my dept has been understaffed since the pandemic. I repeatedly have tried for open positions to be filled. So I am trying to just do my job well but not be the solution to their decision to not hire staff we need by doing multiple jobs! the house is kind of a mess! I have kept up with dishes, I do daily cleans in bathroom but there is a lot to be done. I have done some little gardening and weeding. I hope to do some minor trimming today. I am working at home, it is nice weather and no one is around so I find that perfect gardening time catcats I hope you are continuing to recover!!

Good morning bree! I hope the cortisone helps your knee--what did the doctor say about it? Was it an injury?
I made it to the library and mail box, and also dumped some paper in the library recycling parking lot bin. It drizzled some around the time I went but I took an umbrella and it was dry for my walk there and back.
This seems to be a dangerous book time for me. I'm trying hard to get rid of old book emails, but for the last few days each one I look at has books that I feel I absolutely have to read. So I'm putting lots on my library reminder list, and I put many on my library hold list--only a few are already published, several are being published in July. Today I took 4 books back to the library, and was supposed to pick up 3. While there I decided to look for a older book on my reminder list that I saw was available on my library's shelves. So I got that one, and while walking out of that book aisle my eyes just happened on a title of a book that made me think it was probably a police procedural, my favorite kind of fiction. I didn't know the author, so I stopped to look at it, it looked good, so I took that one too. This is a danger signal...but I keep telling myself, at least I am not acquiring books to keep! As long as the library lets me keep taking out so many, I will keep doing it--it prevents me from buying or trading for books that will stay in my home. I don't read all the books I take out, if I read 20-30 pages and they don't appeal, I stop. Unfortunately, there are some books I really do want to read but I don't have time before having to bring them back. But, I can always take them out again later! I really do love this suburban library system, it's one of the things that makes living here bearable.

Diane - my dad's current nursing home is closing. So we are scrambling, I looked at two today that were lovely. There is a difference of $70 a day between the two.......so expensive
Today has been busy, touring nursing homes and filling out applications. I must do something to redeem my self and the rest of the afternoon.
So off I go

Oh that's awful ohblondie--especially since all the other residents will be looking for spots at the same time so it'll be even harder. I hope you find somewhere good soon.
