This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.) EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple: - Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing. Once you have 3 things done, post them here.- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again. [/color] Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post. Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da! If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you. Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM![/b]

Good morning, Rosebud, madtiger, wantinmore and clutterbunny!
Welcome back, madtiger! "Slow" seems to be the operative word today. So long as "steady" is also attached, we should be OK. What Stephen Jay Gould called "punctuated equilibrium" should work, too--short periods of concentrated activity followed by long stretches of much less.
DONE: -dressed -morning meds -breakfast
TO DO: -clean the kitchen counters and sink -sweep the hall I didn't get to yesterday -scoop the cat box

'Mornin' everyone! Thanks rosebud for the colorful start to my day! WTG Tiger for taking action on removing that table to donate; sounds like good progress to me. Wantinmore, good start to your day, and clutterbunny, glad to hear you're taking care of yourself (a big ta da for me). Hi bluefrog; looks like you are well on your way, dressed already and meds and breakfast done! ta das: 1. got up early (thanks to the miracle of menopause, !) and did some computer research for a painful foot problem that is seriously affecting my work (on my feet; gardener) 2. made the bed 3. dressed to dos: 1. go to big storage unit and move a small carload to little storage unit so I can walk in there. 2. do an hour or so of sorting; see if I can add to the load that needs to go to the dump/exchange today or tomorrow 3. go feed a friend's animals and let the duck out of its house for the day. Unfortunately on Monday, something like an eagle must have gotten the other duck; I haven't seen it in a few days. I'm bummed that my friend is going to come home to learn that.

Hi, folks!
Edited to add: Go, Messynat!
For me, anyway, getting up in the morning isn't by choice, Sygyzy: the dogs are quite vocal about going outside RIGHT THAT MINUTE, and the consequences for not listening are worse than those for getting out of bed.
Madtiger, the new grandson is adorable, agreeable, and perfectly willing to sleep for four hours at a stretch at night. His parents are delighted, too.
DONE: -found and emailed a useful website to a friend -talked to my daughter to remind her of her sister's birthday -bleached and scrubbed the (35 year old WHITE !) kitchen counters -made the bed -scooped the cat box
TO DO: -figure out lunch -sweep the hall -measure and cut fabric for a "presentation case" for the Dresden Plates quilt

Good morning, all my WIT sibs! I liked what bluefrog said about including steady in the slow but steady progress. I also like the concept of short bursts of good work followed by periods of something different ... hmmm. The trick is not to have very loooooooooong periods of something different. Good to see you, Messynat. Glad you're here in WIT today. Brain not totally in gear yet. Need TADAs: 1. Water on for coffee. 2. Bed made 3. Meds taken TODOs: 1. Water plants 2. Make photocopies of two things before mailing them 3. Buy old-fashioned spike for putting receipts on (someone, was it Pigpen?, suggested this as a way of organizing receipts in a thread about paperwork on the old SS site). *bonus* avoid avoiding Yucky Paperwork. My avoidant impulses have been trying to talk me into running off right away to get supplies for crafts project scheduled for June 14. Hope you all have great days! WestsideStory

TODOs - remove boxes of sorted stuff from DR and put into rooms where belong - vaccuum - dust/wipe

Good Morning Everyone!
Well, its just past noon here, so I guess its afternoon.
SO good to be back on the WITs thread today - welcome back MessyNat, so glad to see someone else just jump right in.
Ta-Da's -I'm vertical -coffee -started putting together food for later in the day
To-Do's
-call work and let them know I won't be in today. My demand-resistance is in full swing, and its already noon. I've already done WAY too much churning, and just can't seem to function - even the small habits and routines that were "working" to get me out the door are all blown to bits right now. Besides, Its a long commute (should have left at 6:30 am) and just not worth the 4 hrs of travel time to work a few hrs. I need to re-claim the remainder of the day, and get something done. I'm not proud of it, but there it is.
-shower and dress - load the dishwasher
well, that'll do it for now. If I can get those three things done, I'll hopefully build a little momentum and get rolling.
I hope everyone has a good and productive day! -Jane
