This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM !

Hi Clutterbunny. Good to see you again. Thank you for starting the thread this morning. Good for you for ALREADY making your bed!! WITs is such a lifesaver. Even if I don't do everything I listed I'm still able to see what I HAVE accomplished. It has really helped turn my way of thinking around dealing with maintenance/general housework!! Thank you all!! Tadas... woke up...way too early. Today is the first full day of summer break and I had envisioned sleeping in...NOT. I guess kiddo's internal clock is still set for a 6:30 wake-up time made/had coffee rebooted laundry Todos... fold laundry quick clean of kitchen *put our sheets in washer...still have not done this*

Good morning, clutterbunny, wantinmore, and hatdiva!
Thanks for starting the thread, clutterbunny. Absolutely, wantinmore--long lists intimidate me; but if I only list three things at once, I can get them done, list some more, get those done, and look back at the end of the day to see that I actually did a fair amount of work . Good for you, hatdiva, for getting the sink and counters cleaned!
DONE: -made the bed -took morning meds -dressed
TO DO: -eat breakfast -empty the dishwasher -scoop the cat box

Good morning everyone! I'm in chat with ramatama doing 15-minute challenges today... so I likely won't post my 3s today. But I will certainly be here cheering you all on! And I will report my TaDas of course. I just don't know for sure what I'll be doing. But hey, as long as I'm doing *something* to make a dent, right? TaDas: Round 1 - Cleared area in front of TV; DVDs put away, papers either tossed or stacked neatly for filing later, clothing/shoes that were dropped there are put in appropriate places, dishes discovered taken to kitchen sink to be loaded into the dishwasher. Round 2 coming up!

Round 2 - Closed box of Christmas decorations, wrapped up garland & put into a bag, did same with big wreath. All decorations are now up in the closet. Found some temporary tattoos I'd lost (yay!) and tossed a few things in the trash. Got a cold drink to cool off. (I have the AC set at 78 to try and save energy.. but it feels hotter than that in here today... phew!)

Round 3 - Dishwasher unloaded & re-loaded (but not full), wiped down countertops, stove, and front of microwave. Put away a few items left out on the counters. Emptied kitchen trash.

Yesterday I was so crazed (and hot) that I got up early and kept going until I collapsed. Today should be better:
Ta dah * up early to shop before the worst of the heat * fed me and cats * grocery shopping part 2 * got birthday/father's day card * got cat food * important phone call
To do * keep cool

Sounds like you're off to a great start, syzygy! I'm trying my best to keep cool, too. I could always turn the A/C up but am trying my hardest to not mess with it.
Round 4 - Removed bedsheets & loaded into washer. Put clean sheets on bed and actually MADE the bed!! (I rarely make the bed... just never felt it was *that* important!) Cat # 2 is blissfully sleeping on the freshly made bed.
My chat buddies both went away, so I guess I'm on my own for a bit. Until the next challenge...
ToDo: - Load sheets into dryer - Do something with clothes already in dryer - Load clothes into washer (might as well since I've started...)

Good morning (afternoon to some of you ). Great to see such activity. I'm stuck in slow. I still need to think about making the bed, Artsy, so I'm really impressed that it's becoming a habit for you. Wantinmore, great job with the laundry, sorry about the 6:30 a.m. wake up call from the kiddos. Clutterbunny, I have no idea what IBS is, but it sounds painful. Wishing you well. TADAs: 1. Up/meds/breakfast/made bed 2. Phone calls to folks re: social plans and upcoming weekend 3. Unsuccessful hunt for cell phone -- I am hoping I left it in the car. TODOs: 1. Do paperwork that requires math and thought -- have enough coffee in me that I think I can actually think now. . 2. Mail paperwork 3. Run to Radio Shack in search of batteries. Hope you all continue to do well.
