Butterfly: I fell into that same trap when I had an illness come up on me. I was in pain for about a year, and everthing fell off of my radar. I just didn't care. I tried, but had no energy. I have other books around...safe and secure, but they need to go back too. I had just mentioned this to my partner. He works with me, but I know that he doesn't really understand what is happening to me. This week, I will return at least 2 of my netflix videos so we can look at new ones. I can't believe that I have had them for over a year! Dang. *sigh* Honestly, it is like life is just a blur and I do what is urgent, but some how cleaning fell off my "urgent" list a long long time ago!! Here's to new friendships and clean homes!

I took two books back to the library today, they were overdue by about 3 years I chickened out on taking them inside, tho and just dropped them in the outdoor drop box. Will deal with the fine when I have some extra moolah.

Hey pep, I actually returned seven books once that were 10 or 11 years overdue. It was kind of a hoot--I was a bit of a library celebrity ("Hey, Marge! c'mon over here--look at this! Ya think it's a record?") I also found out to my relief that fines are capped @ $5 per book, so I resolved the whole shebang for $35.
You coulda been a star :-)

When I returned my stuff to the library earlier this week, I got a book and two DVDs. I also went to Blockbuster later that same day and got two more DVDs. All the DVDs are due back Wednesday. The book isn't due back until February 19, but I'm about a third of the way through already. They're ALL gonna be back with no fines!

No library books here, but I do need to return a dress that my daughter wore for school band concerts back to the school. I can't believe they haven't called looking for it. She graduated 3 years ago!

That's awesome! Three years? I'm glad you did it! Me...I returned my two library DVDs today and renewed my two movie rentals, since I didn't even get a chance to watch them. They go back Monday!

Speaking as someone who works in a library, if bad things happen to people I normally waive fines, because we all know how things can change from one moment to the next. But thats just me, sometimes policies cant be ignored. Someone suggested emailing before books are due, I dont know about programmes in other libraries, but we are unable to do that. With work getting busier, we just have enough time to get through the normal day to day jobs that need to be done. Having said all that, you dont want to know how many books I have out, and how many times I have renewed them .
