In Listzilla I'm listing off the projects I want to approach every day, but I know not everyone does lists so they don't go there, so here I am (at Cando's suggestion, and I thank you for that, Cando. ) It's like chat challenges, only on the board instead. I won't do repeat the list here, but I will report on progress or regress, and I ask anyone who's even slightly interested to jump on board. And now I'll post my stuff...

I've been sitting here for 2 and a half hours so far today, and the only thing I've managed to accomplish is that I got the Netflix envelopes into the mailbox. I only have chicken breasts and frozen hamburger patties in the fridge right now, and I have an empty crock pot. Any suggestions? I have onions, garlic and most basic spices. I don't have any sour cream right now, or I'd make my favorite chicken casserole (and MAN it's good). I think I need the cheeses too. And maybe a can of Cream of Chicken soup. Basically, I need most of the stuff. Here's the recipe. I invented it and I'm VERY proud of it. www.network54.com/Forum/207931/message/1268602936/I+invented+this+chicken-broccoli-rice+casserole%2C+and+it+ROCKS. Maybe Mr. MiSC can get some in a couple of hours. We need some plastic spoons from Costco (for the boys' lunches, not for home use anymore. Yay us!) He and the boys usually eat "lunch" at Costo on Saturdays, going up and down the aisles and eating all the free tasting offers that the ladies hand out on every aisle . I'm sure he won't mind stopping by the grocery store while he's out.

Ummm... I forgot to mention the other stuff. I can't do the cooking yet, but I can straighten the bed and start folding clothes.
I hear Mr. MiSC in the kitchen washing dishes so I'd probably be a nice person if I joined in with some job.
Straighten bed and fold/hang up clothes, comin' up.

Well, I started the day out buried in dishes and laundry and now I'm only half buried because I've been chipping away at that.
So, on this last round I got the laundry switched out and the load of towels folded up and then I got a few dishes put away.
We're just now getting around to lunch, which is gonna be Subway again (I can't even count how many Veggie Delights I've done this week) but my supper plan is now to get the huz to work his magic on the chicken breasts and throw them on the George Foreman.

I am showered and dressed. Washer, dryer, and dishwasher are all running. Boys are busy working on the living room. Updated my craigslist postings. I swept about half of the junk on the kitchen floor into a pile and sprayed cleaner under the edge of the cabinets. NOT looking forward to picking all that stuff up.

Great job, Jedi. And it's nice to meet you, I don't think we've met yet, have we?
I went back to work on the dishes, so I'm making progress there. As usual, I really need to work on keeping up during the week, instead of just spending the whole weekend digging out.

Honest Accountability:
I've not budged from this seat. Well, I got clothes for Sean so he and Mr. MiSC can go out to Costco and the grocery store, but that's it.
Does anyone else have trouble cleaning when someone is around? I used to be able to clean up a storm when my best friend was here, but we'd keep up this constant chatter while I did it. I can also clean like crazy when I'm on the phone (I got a hands free headset so I can carry the phone around in my pocket when I'm trying to get things done. Someone call me?)
But when it's just my family here, and everyone's doing their own thing, I swear it feels almost like embarassment to start working. Like I don't want them to see me.
Do any of you have this going on?
Mr. MiSC is out the door now, and both boys are with him, so I SHOULD be able to get this started.
What the heck is this about?

I'm the same way, MiSC, but I *DO* know why.
I grew up in a very critical, perfectionistic environment. Consequently, I prefer to work "solo" where there is no one around to judge what I am doing and how I am doing it.
Now, one would think that having been treated this way myself, I wouldn't treat others that way--but, no; in all honesty, I, too, am a critical, perfectionistic person!! (After all, that is what was modeled to me.)
Naturally, I chose a profession where an attention to detail is paramount!!

Nice to meet you plan9. I have been on hiatus, because we all know that the clutter will magically disappear if ignored, right? ;0)
Dishwasher reloaded and running again, about to reboot the laundry as well. More rubble has been swept into the pile, but I can't seem to find the dust pan.

Wow, your chicken casserole recipe sounds dynamite! Yum, yum, and yummy! I have managed to get dressed today. I have also swept the front hall in preparation of getting a grocery delivery (that's where I have the delivery man leave things). Other virtuous behavior includes: made a hair appointment, finally ordered printer ink (I've been getting low ink warnings for some time now), located and printed out tax extension forms, located and printed out estimated tax instructions for Calfornia, fed and watered the cat, took out some recycling, replaced toilet tissue roll . Congrats to all on accomplishments.

Well, I've just managed to get lunch and get showered and dressed in the past hour but am heading back to the laundry pit soon.
I totally identify with not cleaning nearly as well when everyone is around. This was part of the problem with the week that I took off to clean, it was also the kids' spring break. I wanted to spend time with the kids, but I would have got a lot more done if I had been on my own.
I grew up with very critical parents too and am also now in a job where attention to detail is a huge deal. Interesting.

Ugh. Well, that was enlightening. Thank you, I think. Good luck all - I'm trying along with you to stay focused right along with you. I have done indoor/outdoor basic chores and hosted the delightful carpet cleaner man now off to do errands while the carpets dry.... With any luck, we'll be able to put furniture back in place by this evening. Otherwise, I'm going to take that as a sign that I need to take some time off to catch up on my reading.

Okay, I've got some steam now. Cleaning off the boys' table so the Bunny has room for his stuff. (Her stuff? Is the Bunny a girl or a boy?) K. It's cleared, but I need to clean it. Everyone should be home within half an hour. I need to hustle. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ They should be here any minute, but my back has completely given out. That's just on the boxes/obvious trash (obveeus trashez for Pepe). It think they might notice a little progress here, but... you know. It's not done. Not AT ALL. There's still a lot of stuff on the floor. You never know how bad it really is until you get in the middle of it, do you? It's like, "Where the heck did all this come from??" On another note entirely, there's a kitty who likes to hang out in our back yard. I opened the back door a few minutes ago and he was sitting on the step. He always runs as soon as he hears a noise or sees a person, but this time he sat there. He had a totally scared look on his face, but he didn't move. I just backed away from the door. I looked out a few minutes later, and he was still there. I said, "Hi kitty," and he turned around looking scared again. But he still didn't move. I backed away from the door again. When I looked out a few minutes later he was gone, but maybe I might get a new friend.
