I messed up one thing: Raise the temp to 375. 350 for an hour doesn't quite do it.

Well, today was kind of a bust for me. I was very emotional early this morning, then I slept some more, then it was time to go to my mom's place. We're just getting home now, and it's 7pm.
I always say I shut down after sundown as far as cleaning goes, and it's true, but I really, really need to deal with that at some point. I need to find something I can continue with after dark, even if it's only one thing to start with.

Between saturday night and Sunday, my kitchen floor and table were cleared, cleaned, and once again useable. There is still a counter full of dishes to wash but I once again have hope! And plans to cook dinner tonight instead of take out As I posted in the other thread, continued the sorting and bagging of the laundry nightmare.

I just joined the group last week -- started by throwing away 6 socks a night to put a dent in the baskets -- successful 3 nights in a row!! Had hubbie and kids help me with overall assessment -- we are living in the land of 3s. Everyone took some accountability, but of course the teenagers didn't take much action. I need to get where I don't require a pat on the back from hubbie every time I get something done!!! Expectation sets me up for disappointment which gives me justification for not getting anything else done. Anyway, successful weekend! Spent Friday in the rain and accomplished nothing but did so without guilt (a huge accomplishment in itself). Saturday I put my foot down to stay home while others went out of town and worked on my bedroom.....threw away 3 baskets of socks (one sock at a time of course), loaded up 6 bags of clothes for donation, threw out 2 bags of trash. I still have 3 boxes of books, 2 buckets of tools, and a basket of clothes to put away. Oops, I forgot about the stack of christmas paper rolls by the side of my bed...gotta find a place to stash them . Even got the sheets changed before bedtime -- hubbie got over being miffed that I didn't go with afterall! Sunday was a beautiful day so I worked outside. Started in front yard and picked up trash, straightened ornaments, reset a trellis. Moved to the backyard and threw away 2 empty pots (kept one questionable one). Moved Ducks to non-winter location away from back door and washed/put away winter duck gear. Teenage daughter has new boyfriend picking her up/dropping her off so I'm sure she's glad the driveway looks "normal" now. But I pouted when hubbie didn't sufficiently say thank you. This is the most productive time I've had in several years. It has helped to know that I'm not alone. It has helped to be able to identify at what stage I currently am in and where I want to be. It has helped that the family is now talking openly about it, although we still are making jokes about it out of fear and shame. Fixing the computer at home is on my to-do list so I am only able to read posts on work breaks but this website really helps! The warm welcome I got here has been a tremendous boost, and I know the rush I had this weekend cannot continue so I have to keep plugging along at 3 things a day until it becomes not just a habit but a way of relating to the world. I am learning, one day at a time, that all this stuff isn't important -- I'm important, even if I'm not the best or the worst, I'm important. I got the opportunity this morning that makes all this worthwhile -- I got a message from a recovering friend on another website who is concerned because their spouse is a "hoarder", they were asking for a website with info.....because of this website and Squalor Survivors, I know where to direct them. Someday I will understand why I am so eager to help others when I am unable to ask for help myself. Now that I have "carried the message", I am accountable for walking the walk. Thanks!

Back! 15 minutes spent clearing some stuff from Entry Hall. Put a backpack of DD's in her room, put some highlighters & mechanical pencils of hers in her room, put a couple books & gloves in her room. Put small binder in her room. I'd rather let her clean it or decide what to do with these things... but I just need to get the house cleaned up yesterday! in case her new (& first) boyfriend gives her a ride home from school. This happened rather suddenly and now I am doomed if he comes in my house. I know that I needed to do it by this Saturday night for when he picks her up for Senior Prom, but didn't know that he & she would start a relationship over the weekend when they didn't have a date but just were together for anti-prom... Arggh! Didn't know they would get serious at any time... I'm in soo much trouble here. One might think that a guy doesn't care... but I would beg to differ. Some do. One might think that she should help me in this... well, I am absolutely certain that she would and will. But, what if he comes over today?!!! Ooh, I just gotta keep moving and hope that he comes over but doesn't see, I guess.......... Oh, I also swept the Entry Hall & the kitchen. The next part of Entry Hall will be difficult. I hate anyone moving my stuff and I have to do that now with DH's stuff. And, "yes", I did warn him and ask for his help over the weekend. I don't know what else to do... I can't leave this stuff there. Oh well... I'll be as sensitive as I possibly can with his stuff just as I did with DD's. Now, for the next 15: more in Entry Hall & a step in the laundry process. CD

I spent a little longer than 15 minutes that time. *1 thing was mine (well, ours)-- an 8 x 10 of my parents grandkids that was taken about a year ago. Needs to be framed & hung on wall, but not now. So, just shifted it to another room, but will need to be moved again or finally framed & hung. Glad I found this as one of my brothers wasn't sure if he ever gave me one of these & I forgot that I was supposed to call him back & let him know & I couldn't remember... *sigh* *called DBro. to let him know. *One was an empty box... put that in garage to be recycled. *put in recycle bag a little obvious paper type trash like restaurant to go menus that DH put on top of aquarium stand on top of ice chest. *couple things into shred bag *1 thing that I hope I put in good place... some kind of chip for DDR. put it in entertainment center cabinet that has some old record albums, tapes, etc. The DDR is in Entertainment Center area, so thought that would be a good home. *Packaging, etc. trash put in trash can *cable, other type stuff, power supply, etc. into box that I made & labeled with date & whose stuff & from which room. Now, where do i put this box??? Right now in den, but will be moved in a little while... to somewhere.*used canned air to dust around cables/computer stuff in Entry Hall. *moved some of these cables to between some computers so not sticking out onto the floor. *put load of laundry from dryer away... did not fold these. Well, just the big ones. These were assorted ragtype towels. *replaced dog towel that is on couch in den as I noticed it was a little wet. Hmmm. What happened there? Maybe older dog was licking herself... hope that is all it was. Needed to change out that towel to a better one anyway. *shook the old dog towel out & put in laundry area to be washed Next: Dust aquarium stand and computers in Entry Hall. Start in den. Poof CD

I sure hope that someone joins me here. Getting lonely... Another 15 minutes: *dusted off aquarium stand in Entry Hall *dusted off computers in Entry Hall *moved that box that I put together earlier into my bedroom... *sigh* Done with Entry hall! Now on to the den. *hung DD's Senior shirt that was on piano & put it in her room. *put wrapping from shirt into trash *put bag it was in in Laundry area with my other heavier bags that I use to put papers that need to be recycled in. *put away DH's work gloves that he left on piano in den *put DD's cap & gown & diploma holder in her room. Was on the back of the couch *shifted box of announcements to another spot in den... *sigh* will have to put it somewhere else later. *sigh* This was on back of couch. *put bag from that with the other bag in Laundry area Nothing else on back of couch... moving on to floor next to couch. *put away 3 bags of groceries. Put them where they go... didn't just shift them. *1 bag put in Laundry area to be used for putting paper recyclables in *the other 6 bags (yes, there were bags inside these bags of groceries) put into bag of bags that I will drop off to be recycled in laundry area for now. Taking lunch break. I want DD's boyfriend to bring her home & yet I don't. *sigh* CD

Update: put away bag with other bags in it from hallway that was from a clean up a few months ago of DD's room tossed a couple things that were in hallway from that same clean up 2 office supplies shifted to another room , but still not put away. However; it is starred as it is no longer on my hallway floor. removed books from hallway floor from same clean up, and moved them into eating area. yes, shifting again. These are to be sold to Half Price Books. That's all in hallway. Now at zero except needs vacuuming & I keep a toddler gate in there against the way in case I need it in a hurry to block dogs off. More work in Den. fluffed cushions on couch put 5 phone books in garage to be recycled, put 1 new phone book on shelf 2 empty bags put away to be recycled dusted top of computer dusted round table with shelves that the computer sits on swept some big things of dog hair up just with my fingers & threw away. dusted lamp table dusted fireplace hearth picked up dog toys and put away raked up a little more dog hair with my fingers & tossed rearranged (shifted around) a couple things to look better... like moved trash can to where it is not in a main focal point area... now inconspicuous. Also, a towel to use on paws when they are muddy outside. Moved a couple boxes behind TV table rather than in front of it. Another TV table... removed controllers & put them away. Put a TV table away. shifted a pack of batteries from den floor to kitchen counter. arranged DH's stuff on & under TV table a little better. Also, the arm covers & back cover on his L*zy Boy chair. dusted 2 big speakers & TV moved vacuum from middle of den to less conspicuous spot... didn't have time to vacuum, though. put 2 pairs of DH's shoes in our bedroom. put empty shoebox from DD's clean up of her bedroom a couple months ago into garage to be recycled Wow! the den is already soo much better. Still would be very embarrassing if anyone came in... but there is floor space!!! Almost totally cleared in fact. Breakfast bar & shelves are horrible, still. So, is 1 orange chair, piano, 1 tv table. Moved to front bathroom. Windexed part of mirror swept only part of floor where it was really bad. washed sink, faucet, and little area around sink. rearranged a little bit of stuff that is on sink counter to make it a tad better. It is really bad there. Way too much junk & just piled still. 3 shaving creams moved to back bathroom sink counter. Put by DH's sink. swiped toilet - used glass cleaner swiped floor around toilet - used chlorox wipes closed shower curtain Looks much better in front bathroom, but not done thoroughly. Need to do lots more in there.

Hey, Pepe. This be the other Orange chair. But either way... both of these stupid orange chairs will be replaced in the next couple months, hopefully. The one that used to be so evil is actually totally clear and has been for months, now. Thanks for the cheers & remembering me. How are you, your Hairy & de bebe? Love ya, too. CD
