Hi BetsyMarie! Glad to see you here! Hope others will join too! Good Job on the planning, errands, shopping, and putting everything away! Hopefully others will join this thread, I find it motivates me so much to see what others are accomplishing, and I am a bit tired of the looking for active threads too, it feels silly to post my lists on many different threads, not to mention trying to keep up and update every thread, which takes lot of time. I try to keep it simple the best I can. I haven't yet figured out a best way to for me personally to use there boards. I don't generally like chats so I have never even been there. But but... I just finished my first 30 minutes session of writing (YAY!), and the Introduction chapter is starting to be ready (I think I have said that at least once before already, !)! Now I'll have a break and then I'll have another writing session. It's 21.30 PM here so I think that will be the last to-do thing for me today.

Break is over and back to writing. I will put my timer on for 45 minutes, which is 15 minutes longer than my normal sessions, and it's pushing my consentration span, but I'll give it a try.

I am totally with you. I've stopped in chat a few times, but except for once when someone reported doing some work, there was only chat. Chat's never been my thing anyway. I like a written record of what I've done, but sadly most threads are not active enough to suit my needs, and I dont like jumping around. Well, I'm tired of living like this, so even if there are jsut a few of us participating on and off, I'm forging on. Maybe it's just because it's midweek. Maybe on the weekend things will pick up. I'm getting a slow start today, perhaps because I'm cold. I did just have lunch and write a letter however. Think I'll get warm then hang up some laundry and go from there.

Hello! This weekend, instead of trying to get my bedroom cleaned, I'm going to concentrate on my floors. Other than the bedroom, my apartment is very close to what I would consider maintenance, but I haven't mopped my floors in ages so it's preventing me from really feeling good about it. I'm hoping that by sweeping and mopping all my floors this weekend it'll make me feel like I'm ready to put up my Christmas tree next week, and then I can worry about the bedroom after that.
And this time when I sweep I'm going to remember my dust mask!

Ok I have been on a binge in the wrong direction but just felt like it was a need to do to get started. Took my before pics and posted takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pics&action=display&thread=10996It was kind of a getting started ceremonies and I enjoyed doing it so not felling guilty and moving on. I do have pumpkin pies in the oven. Mother in Law's b-day yesterday we are baking pumpkin pies and putting 80 candles on the two pies. Next to take a few minutes to unwind I have gotten a bit keyed up getting pictures posted.

Good morning everyone. My task today is the dining room.
I did the initial clearing a few weeks ago, but as I have decluttered other rooms in the meantime, the dining room became 'clearing central' for all manner of miscellaneous things (boxes of tupperware, recycling, etc), and things have drifted in there again.
Today is the day that room gets tidied up again.
So, I'm turning on my spelunkers headlight, tying a rope around my waist, and heading in........

Things didn't go quite as well for me on Thursday as I had planned. I did get the tables cleared and dishes done. Yesterday was my sister's birthday, so we were over there all day, visiting and celebrating with her. We stayed from noon to midnight! I've seemed to pick up a stomach bug or ate too much or a combination as I feel puny today. But I need to get some stuff done. DH is out working, little girl is on couch sick with a cold, and big girl playing video games. Here's what I plan for today and tomorrow: do dishes (I think two loads worth, maybe only 1 and a half) clear kitchen and dining room table (again, this is a daily thing here as everyone just drops stuff on them.) Change bed linen and remake bed. Clear of dressers in bedroom. Clear floor in bedroom. Move tables from mudroom to the spare room. Clear off bookcase in bedroom. Vacuum the whole downstairs and stairs Sort out one drawer or cabinet the kitchen (my plan is to do one a day until Christmas, then keep it up weekly once they're sorted.) Go to grocery, if my stomach will let me. If not, we have food to eat for today and that will have to do. I'm going to try to not eat much in hopes of killing this bug. I plan to work for 15 minutes or so on a task, then post back here. Will be started at noon central time.

I`ve had a very unusual week, and haven`t done anything around the house except for a couple of loads of laundry & dishes. I do have some outside of the house work I need to go do this afternoon, but really want to at least catch up around here as much as possible. My first thing to work on is to go through the mail/papers from this week. I`ve barely glanced at it as it came in, didn`t even get the junk tossed yet. I read most of the newspapers, but haven`t collected them for recycling yet. There seems to be an awful lot of "debris" (soda cans, wrappers, things that obviously belong elsewhere and actually have a place to go) that needs picked up & dealt with. Not sure how much I`ll actually get done, but will try to check back later.
