Still plugging away here. Doing more general sorting, discarding, and putting away. Somethings are more difficult than others to deal with, but it's getting done. Put out another whole can of recycling. Guess I like finding coins the best - I know what to do with those, . Actually I'm collecting them all in one container in the bedroom. When I'm done, I'm spending it all on me. After playing around, I'll go back in. I'd love to see how far I can get in the Dining room today.

Wow, we are on page 4!
I'm proud of you BetsyMarie, for sorting through items even if it's difficult!!! I'd love to find money too! What a great idea to plan to use it on yourself!
I will bite the bullet as I am still not sleepy at all, and set my timer for 45 minutes and start writing the school paper. It's only my first session today, but better one session than zero! (Actually it's already "tomorrow" here, the time is 1:30 AM)

Congratulations on writing more of your essay... Glad it's going well! I've been doing more in the dining room. Slowly clearing the table top... again. The things that got put back on it were things that I hadnt know what to do with in prior sorting efforts. You know how that goes. I also finally dealt with all the tupperware that had been accumulating in there. I took the wimpy way out, . I ended up keeping all the official tupperware or rubbermaid containers, and recycling any off brands or store-bought containers. At this time I simply don't know what sorts of containers I am going to want/need later. I know I want to use some for things like nails, screws, etc in the garage, but I'm not near there yet. And who knows what else. The kitchen isn't finally sorted yet either. So I put all the lightly sorted containers into two large clear plastic bags.... and put them in the garage. So be it. I'm getting a bit tired, but I really do want to have the table top in there totally cleared by the end of the day. If that happens, I'll be very pleased. If it doesn't, I'll be pleased when it does happen.

I got the table top cleared and cleaned (except for the tv without a home). Also the floor mostly vacuumed, and all the chairs straightened around the table. I did notice the table isn't centered under the light in there, so tomorrow I'm going to do that.
The D.room is about a day away from being totally done. I've also decided I now must move the inside recycling center out of that room. There is much less 'stuff' in the house now, so it's getting more difficult to find things to get rid of anyway.
Still lots to do in the house of course, like the non public rooms, most of the closets and drawers and.... And when the inside house is done, there still is the garage... and the outside... and all the papers.....

Hi y'all. I know that y'all may be both sleeping, but read your posts. Congrats, OnTheMend -- on getting so much schoolwork done!!! BetsyMarie -- I agree... great idea with all the coins!!! I had several charitable type banks on my shelves in the den & I am gradually filling those up with coins that I find around the house. I have been doing this for over a year now... I am down to one last one, now... from 5 ! A couple, I had to get a check or cashier's check and actually had to mail it to the organization because it was from when my kids were in elementary school and the school is no longer doing those... it'd only been over 10 years!!! 2 others I had to drive and drop off... it was pretty embarrassing, but I was glad that I did it. Again, over 10 years on those! One went directly to the school (private school) another to a synagogue. After this last bank is filled, maybe I'll do what you are doing... or else I'll put it to the college funds. Sorry I wasn't able to get back on here earlier to post what all I did as I went... I may break what I did up into smaller posts rather than one huge long one. After the last round, here's what I did: *looked on computer at 2 grocery stores to see if they had turkeys CHEAP. * made quick grocery list of at leasts $20.00 worth so that I could buy a cheap turkey. * went to Grocery Store (Krogers) *Spent $70 ! Yikes! And, that wasn't even all the groceries.... Got my turkey on sale for 20 cents a pound... Almost 16 pounder for less than $5.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CD

Okay, last post on this thread until I go back to sleep & wake up, again. *Put almost all the groceries away... left 1 bag of canned stuff & toothpaste out to put up later since I needed to cook. * made sauteed zucchini & onions with shredded mozarella cheese and oregano powder & basil leaves, margarine & lots of garlic powder. Added sliced little Cherub Tomatoes after it was cooked. Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! * made Cheese Broccoli rice from a package. It was good. Knorr brand. * had DS over for dinner... & he & DH made grilled hamburgers * cleared the table of dinner stuff * put left-overs away * spoke with DS about Thanksgiving (he & Girlfriend will be there... Yay!!! ) * Went to sleep at 10:30pm!!! Yay, me! Unfortunately fully clothed with tennis shoes on & contacts. Woke up at 1:40am to take them out & change into just a t-shirt to sleep in. * went thru today's mail & papers (receipts!!!) & dealt with them. More about that if you are interesting on the daily mail/incoming papers thread... Going back to sleep in a bit. Best of luck to all of you! CD

They apparently close the ticket sale to the gym an hour before the closing time, which I didn't have known before. I was turned out from the door, but I came back home and excercised here. I feel great knowing I have been good to my body!
I'll be back a little later with a list of to dos. So far I have made bed today and collected dirty clothes and put them where they belong.

Good Morning Busy Peeps!! It was nice logging on and seeing how much you all have accomplished this morning. WTG!! I didn't do too much more last night, but did tidy the living before bed and half way did the kitchen. This morning I've emptied dishwasher and put things away, putting dirty dishes in. I have sausage on to cook. I also found some recipes to make today. The dining room and living room are good enough if someone came in I wouldn't be too embarrassed. Level .5 maybe? Kitchen 1 or 1 1/2. I'm going to carry on with my list today and will start after breakfast. do dishes clear kitchen and dining room table (again, this is a daily thing here as everyone just drops stuff on them.) Change bed linen and remake bed. Clear of dressers in bedroom. Clear floor in bedroom. Move tables from mudroom to the spare room. Clear off bookcase in bedroom. Vacuum the whole downstairs and stairs Sort out one drawer or cabinet the kitchen (my plan is to do one a day until Christmas, then keep it up weekly once they're sorted.) Go to grocery Well, thought I had posted this, but it appears I didn't click post! So, we've had breakfast and I even put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher! woo hoo! All that is left now is a cast iron skillet that has to be hand washed and oiled. I will start at noon. See you soon.

Just finished clearing and cleaning a small, double deck table along the wall in the dining room. It's something I passed daily, yet when working on it, realized I never had considered cleaning before. It was just 'there', junk and all, invisible to my eyes. It still could stand to be scrubbed, but that will wait. I think I'll use it as the water bottle re-filling station. I'm working slower today, but as long as things get done, that's just fine. Next up... the side table next to it.

Side table done... at least cleared and wiped down. It's an old table from a yard sale. Nice but not valuable, and the top needs work - it looks like $%#&. A nice paint job would do. Not sure what color however. The legs and under-carriage would remain natural dark wood. Maybe a table cloth would do for now.
Also, lunch eaten. Yum.
Not sure what to do next. All my cookbooks are in there along the other wall. Many should go. I've been dreading that task.
Or, there is another bit of shelving wiht 'stuff' I could deal with. I'm more likely to actually do that area.
