I tend to keep up with the washing, and the drying. but the folding and putting away and getting rid of old, ripped, stained things doesn't happen. This is where I really stumble Ally! It's the folding/hanging and putting away! I hang up all our pants and shirts. So just pj's, shorts, tanks, undergarments, etc get folded. I can rotate laundry like nobody's business! But then I find I have 4 overflowing baskets in my bedroom! My room seems to be the best place to fold and hang since I have a King size bed to spread out on. 3 out of 5 peoples clothes go in our room since son is still in there. Then the girls rooms and the linen closet are all close. So I rotate laundry and if I get sidetracked it is all out of sight and of course mind. WOOHOO on getting a new washer Ally!! We had to replace both our machines a year ago December. So knock on wood we're good for awhile!

Today I have had to focus energy in other directions (work, nap, kids, etc) and I didn't get a good jump on the laundry. I did rotate loads of bedding around twice and folded & put away a load of clean linens. Now that I fed people and got dishes done, I guess I will go access what chaos I have going on with the laundry. Need to fold and put away at least 1 basket of clean clothes.

Got a bit done tonight so I will call it good until tomorrow. Basket I folded last night got put away, many items had to be hung. Folded/Hung and put away one more load of clothes. And folded & put away a load of towels. I have a load of my daughter's bedding that will be dry in 10 minutes and then I will toss my load from washer in dryer. Those can hang out until tomorrow.

Putting away the clean stuff is my stumbling block.... tonight I am doing another load of washing and I am committing to putting away the clean stuff.
ETA - all the clean and dry things are put away and the next load is hung up to dry.

I did go, but not until 10pm, haha. At least it stays open late (til 11).
did 3 loads, and didn't fold them or put them away- fortunately I don't give a fig about wrinkles.
Doing laundry for kids as well as self while also taking care of said kids sounds very hard. good work Angie!

One chore I like doing but the putting away naaah, part of the problem is there is not enough "away".
So my piles of clean stuff become comfy kitty beds and full of fluff so back in the wash they go.
One load on the line, one in the washer done, one in the dryer done, gonna take the dry stuff off the line and empty the washer and reload now.

This morning I cleared the floor where the washing machine was. The floor is in bad shape, and the new washer is bigger than the old. I need to clear out a little more space, do a little work on the floor, then DH says he will help me move the new washer in, connect it, etc. I'm hoping that before I go to bed tonight, that I can get at least one load washed.

Made some good progress on the laundry today. I probably ran the machine 4-6 times. I didn't keep track. I had some linens to take care of as well as a rug I'm washing now.
Laundry that made it home .....
1 comforter clean, folded & put away on linen shelf Load #1 darks folded/hung & put away Load #2 darks folded/hung & put away
All laundry was gathered from all hampers, corners and general landing strips. I have 2 loads of colors clean that I intend on folding and putting away before bed. Bad night sleepwise here. I got a 2 hour nap and now hubby sleeping and laundry baskets in our room. I will do these after dinner so I don't have stuff hanging out in the bedroom. Feels good to get caught up, especially since this stuff multiplies so fast!! I only have a very small amount of colors & darks now in the laundry room. Will wait for me until tomorrow as I know they will find friends very quickly.

I did more cleaning in the laundry room. I realized I wanted a different type of connector hose than we had. DH went out to find the kind we needed, and came back with one, with the store promising him the other one by this evening. Meanwhile I pushed the machine down the hall part way through the door and hooked it up as much as possible. DH came home with the other hose and I hooked it up. I just ran a mini load. It is so much more quiet than the old one, and spins the clothes out until they are almost dry! We still have to maneuver the machine into place and hook the dryer up, but it's time for me to go to bed, so that will wait until tomorrow or Friday. Good night!

My laundry plan for today: Fold and put away load towels Fold/hang & put away load of darks Wash sheets from our bed & 7 yo's bed - these 2 are in need of a change --- looks like tomorrow will be the day. They got bumped due to 2 loads of icky bedding from #1 daughter. I really am glad I have worked on several loads a day the last few days to catch up. NOW to keep it daily maintenance where I have wanted to be .... 1 to 2 loads a day. I am going to start tracking days I do laundry. August Laundry Successes5 6 7 8
