I got more receipts entered into Quicken. Opened mail. Paid a bill. Deposited checks.
I need to make some further progress on the estate papers and on my financial wreckage from the past. Need to really make this a focus next month.

I came across some unexpected and forgotten paper clutter when I was doing some decluttering in my pantry yesterday. It was a document box full of journal entries, written therapy exercises and heaps of drawings that I did 18 years ago when I had treatment for PTSD over the course of about two years. I had completely forgotten about it and its years since it was packed up and put there. I read through some and looked at all my drawings, I didn't find it too emotional which surprised me, mainly I just felt very grateful for how far I've come since then. So I decided that I would get rid of all of it and out it went. It no longer represents who I am, it's from my past and I don't need to hold onto my past to live in the present. So one document box of a bad past is gone

Hi Louie, thank you for sharing this. It gave me the strength to go back and review my old goals from 2005, that were written in a book, put away, and then never looked at again. And when I took the time to look at the goals I had written with fresh eyes, and in a more gentle mood, I was pleased to see that I had actually achieved a lot of these goals, although perhaps not in the way I had intended.
Louie, you are so right, that we do not need to hold on to the past in we want to live in the future. So I have removed the one page from this book that I had written on, and now have a new book to use for insights, etc during 2015.

I have quilt pieces cut out, but can barely get to my sewing machine. The floor is littered with piles of papers, file folders, boxes, etc. The piles are around 6 to 12 inches high, so not life threatening if they fall over. I'm going to make up my bed, put a sheet over the spread to keep it clean and use the space on the bed to sort. Many of these papers don't belong to me and I need to get them out of the house soon.

I have been sewing for a few minutes, then sorting for a few minutes. Papers are sorted, several things are put away. I have to find room for one more stack in the filing cabinet. There was fabric and pictures mixed in with the papers. The fabric is put away. The pictures are in a pile of their own. I will put them away later.

Today, I opened a piece of mail related to S's estate. I have to make a phone call to get more information before I fill out the form. May also need to talk to a tax person (accountant? lawyer? I don't know...)

Thanks Cando and Louie.... Reading how others do it really helps me too I just picked up a letter, opened it, read it and threw it in the bin! And some grotty paper towel laying next to it!!! At least that is 3 less pieces of paper to deal with! The letter had been on the floor for 2 days and the same with the dirty piece of paper towel.

I spent this a.m. in paperwork confronting past due info. I got one business call taken care of. I paid my insurance...found out it hadn't renewed.
Quiet at work so I cleaned out purse. This consisted of organizing paperwork. This took twenty minutes but I can find my info when I need it. I even got papers out of car and got them under control.
I created more paperwork taking class notes. But they are organized.
