Yesterday, I also looked into a bill that I got which I thought I'd already paid... turns out they had never sent it even though it is for November. aarrgghh! Today, Spent 20 minutes going thru file cabinet… not nearly done. -- 9 papers “to be shred”, 2014 papers pulled for Tax Box.
Although I went thru a lot of boxes & bags before guests came for the holidays, I still had to take my shredder & Tax File boxes, among tons of other boxes/bags, to the mini storage as I ran out of time to go thru things & needed to get the tons of boxes/bags & stuff out of my house before they arrived. It has been so cold and rainy that I've taken my time & not gotten them back out, yet. Plus I don't look forward to having these in my house, again. But, they need to be gone thru & organized better... and many things are just waiting to be shred. So, my plan is to get the shredder & the Tax Year Boxes that I need & am not going to get the other boxes/bags until I've gone thru more stuff that is still in my house. Then, will grab one box/bag at a time. Will be glad when I am done... but need to get on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Count me in! I just posted my "new member intro". As I worked through a whole room full of paper junk last weekend it occurred to me that I have a problem with hoarding paper and information even though I tend to be pretty lean and mean with other things. Working on strategies to put that right.

I dared to walk in amongst my papers last night while at the Landfill Party going on here. I was laughing so much, I felt less apprehensive about facing those papers and at least walked in amongst them. I threw out a plastic bag in them and the mobile phone box went. PHEW!!!!

welcome fiddlecat! its good to have you here cando, sounds like a good plan, good luck with the tax boxes and shredding yay angela for keeping on going even though you were tired! warrior kimmie that party was a blast! distraction really helps with the anxiety, good work! I finished an assignment yesterday that I've been putting off for ages, its a sort of paper clutter I guess... certainly paper procrastination, had 3 months to do it and that time is up on Monday... nothing like leaving it till the last moment! processed last nights mail, I can see some paper piles starting to grow in the bookcase so I'll tackle them this weekend. I had one overdue bill this week, things are certainly improving in that department now that i can find papers and bills so hopefully there will be no more.

I put one solid bags of dated paperwork to landfill party. I spent from 3 to 5:45 doing it. Friend is getting me a filing cabinet. All of the boxes of paper I have are going to be appropriately housed. I have half a container left of unsorted paperwork. Even my desk is cleared significantly. I still have the insides but the top is functioning somewhat. I grabbed all of my papers and just put them in a bin and sorted at work.

I started creating a paper trail (email trail, actually) as protection in case my housing situation goes wrong.

Today I was able to go thru a bunch of papers and sent 75 to be recycled and shredded another 15. I also deleted 151 emails which is a good start but I still have way too many that I need to go thru but am hoping I can get rid of between 150 and 500 emails per day until I catch up. Right now I have over 13,000 emails that I need to go thru and either delete, read or put into one of my folders.

angela I hope your estate business and decisons about it all go well xx papermoon thats good thinking to create a paper/email trail, you're in my thoughts with all that is happening xx andrea - well done on the emails and paper tossing!! lost child that is wonderful that you've cleared most of your desk and the filing cabinet will really make a difference, good work! I have been tidying up some paper clutter 'hotspots' that I noticed in the bookcase, just lots of receipts, notes, lolly wrappers and 'stuff' that we seem to dump on the nearest shelf. :

12 minutes of shredding, enough to finish filling another 5-pound bag, which I bombed down the recycle chute.
