I am at dd's, but washed up before i left home. i'm thinking this is a first in recent history. papermoon - there was a time in ancient history when I was quite anal about dishes done promptly. Distressed when they weren't done. I'm reading what you write and starting to think - maybe that would work for me too. Often the days dishes take less than 5 minutes, but maybe I'd be more likely to do another job as well after I wash up = using that water. Its something to consider. I'm thinking of some of the bench items I'm willing to give away, that could do with a wash first. Good work jendela and dayeanu. cleanbee - welcome to the new puppy, and congratulations. Keep on doing what you can, and posting here. You will catch up. btw - I hope you are getting some sleep at night. All caught up on my end wynken!!! WTG for your first

Dishes had piled up...watching baby and washing wasn't easy but did it. Have half a sink left of bowls after dinner. Will do in a.m. along with macaroni and cheese and ham.

well done lostchild, I love to hear all the things you do to support your family. Back to normal routine for me, DW is running and only a small dish backlog (not unusual). Slowly putting away all the Christmas things. house is not too bad, all things considered.

Often the days dishes take less than 5 minutes, but maybe I'd be more likely to do another job as well after I wash up = using that water. Its something to consider. . wynken, I hope you find a solution that works for you. I don't think of my dish-washing as being anal. For me, it's just "normal"... or I should say, it's my new normal. I don't have any negative words or feelings associated with washing the dishes regularly... no stress, no resentment, no too tired, no too busy, no don't wanna, no half-done. Washing twice a day is so quick. And even though we're supposed to be mindful of what we're doing, I find that I now do it on automatic, and *poof* it's done. But my old normal (before joining this thread) was burdened by all the thick heavy negatives (lay-zee, dirty, slatternly, plus a boatload of excuses), and I was dragging myself down by allowing the negs to prevail, by not washing all the dishes.

i wasn't meaning that you were anal over keeping up with dishes twice a day papermoon. Just remembering. A view of me. pov x. When I was first married some 40 years ago (in a couple of weeks) They had to be done after every meal. One time they were left as we went on an evening outing, with promises we would do them later, then later they were put off with promise to help first thing in the morning. Morning came and notsodh refused to get up and help as promised. I know I went and yelled at him, which was supposedly irrational, and I ended up in hospital sedated, and finding out how little it took to wipe me out. Maybe I was way over the top, or maybe it was just that any of my anger wasn't allowed. Here - the dw was run 3 times on christmas day. I help somewhat. Rinse what I can. Empty dishdrainer for the multitude of non dw items some of the time at least. Remembering that dgs has his job of emptying dw. imamess cleanbee Louie jendela.

Got my plates, spoons, and forks done. It's never as bad as I think it's going to be. Still, I think it's time to start bugging dh to put the new dw in.
