Good work dayeanu. Oh, I am missing having my dishwasher already. Looks like we will be trying to repair our current model, rather than a buying a new one. Now I am wishing I hadn't decided to make poached whole chicken as I have lots of pans to wash, as well as the regular dishes First round of dishes washed.

Dish mountain conquered this morning. Had nothing to eat on and nothing to eat with! I will recommit to keeping up. I was doing good for a long time.

Going to soak the dishes when the dryer's done in a little while and wash them up before bed. I want to stick to using one mug each for all our drinks so I need to put the spares away/get rid of some.

Hiya wynken, cleanbee, shosha angela - thanks for motivating me. DW is out of action, so I have lots more dishes than usual. Luckily DH is following up with the maintenance company to try to get someone in asap. Have made a start, now need to keep going with the dishes. Hmm, I might need to scale back some of the cooking while we don't have a DW.

jendela scaling back on cooking is a bit part of the battle. One pot meals make it manageable for me.

jendela, if I'm cooking several things, I run a sink of dishwater when I start cooking and wash as I go. With a tiny kitchen, that's the only way that bowls, spoons, pots and pans aren't stacked everywhere when I finish.

Not sure I deserve the WTG, I didn't manage to get the dishes done before bed and I'm re-soaking them now. Back is quite painful, so I need to be cautious today, but hopefully I should be able to get them done in a little while, the sofa's clear and the sheet's back on it (covering up the tatty slipcover) so I can have a lie down if I need to. Going to wait until after my mum's come to help with taking rubbish out, though.
