took a big bag of recyclables out.
the bin Is now full, I either have to wait until Wednesday to put more (I have 3 months of recycling to take out) OR buy special bags. I HAD decided never to spend money on those again when I should be able to do it for free. pesky landlords and neighbours messed things up.
11/40
I really hope eventually it wont just be real garbage and recycling anymore and maybe I can get to old papers and stuff like that. Am going at smail's pace. I've only really done 2 or 3 days (not whole days, but the otherdays I did nothing) of work but it takes me several days to carry it out.
keep at it! let's keep at it!

DAY 12- shelf in garage: Threw away cracked clay pots and ice cream maker too loud and slow and unreliable to donate, and an outdated stencil set. small discovery while I was in garage: I bought a stencil set 10 years ago at a hobby shop with the idea that I would stencil a diamond pattern on our staircase landing. Mr. Charis never liked the idea, and in the end I decided it was too much trouble. I chucked the unopened stencil set in the garage, where Mr Charis would periodically notice it over the years and tell me that I ought to get rid of it. Last month he brought it up again and I said "You are right. Just get rid of it. I don't want to donate it, I think the stencils are too bent, and it seems out of date now too". While I was cleaning off the shelf in the garage today for the bag challenge, I found the stencil set hidden behind the shelving unit

Bonus 40 for Sunday -- 40 items from bar clutter handled. Mostly paper I did put 10 books into the pile for The Recycled Reader. DD loves that place. If the want any of the books that you take to them for their stock the give you half the original value as store credit. Then when you find a book to buy in their store you can use the store credit to .75 cents a book. Not a bad deal better then paying full price.

So not a "bag" but since I read the website and said maybe a furniture item could count as 1 bag, I am counting 1 child's rocking horse as #1 today. It is in the van now ... correction, I just got a text as I am typing. Hubby actually dropped all Good Will stuff off on way to work. Yes!! My sister nicely gifted this to my son in December (right after Christmas along with a truckload of other stuff)after cleaning in her son's room.
I'm not working on the 40 day cycle but going to work at my own pace. Will have to take a break during Spring Break week too since we'll be gone 6 days.

I got some free books from the community book sharing box. But then I came home and took 1 of the books back and a stack I had been planning to try to sell at second hand bookshop. definitely a grocery bag's worth or more.
