I said I would consider it acquisition if I kept anything from S's stuff so...I am keeping 3 pairs of thick, warm socks and 3 more pairs of thinner, but still warm socks. Also a pair of fingerless gloves that are practically new. Also a long-sleeved wool undershirt though I may change my mind of this one.
Also set aside a couple of his books to keep including Full Catastrophe Living, Farm City, and Bushcraft.
Used some of the yarn I had bought the other day to make a cowl. The cowl is done! Now this is how it's supposed to work! Buy the project supply when I'm ready and able to do the project!
Also, the thrift store cashmere sweater I bought last month is serving its purpose tonight as a sleeping sweater. It's a nice green, long, v-neck sweater. There are a couple holes in it in obvious enough places that I couldn't really wear it to work but it's perfect as a light-weight, warm night shirt.

Nice!... all 4 paragraphs, angela! Good stuff you got there. I loved Farm City, what a great read. Today I was in Italian mode, so when I saw the new 2015 page-a-day desk calendar of Italy, I gleefully grabbed it. Unfortunately, I didn't look closely until I was on the bus going home. It's the wrong publisher. This calendar is designed without even a smidgen of space to jot a memo. Pfft, useless. So I found one by the correct publisher on eBay and bought it. I'll have to take this one back. Well, one way or the other, I'm getting a nice new Italy calendar. Technically, it's a consumable and shouldn't count as an acquisition. But it will sit on my desk for a year, so that's good enough.

Bought six pairs of underwear instead of those that did not fit. These look a proper size and shape.

I helped my broker friend yesterday and came home with 3 packs of these new fangled, antimicrobial microfiber cloths. Woo hoo.
I asked her if she had any body lotion to spare from her sample stock and she gave me two different kinds. One of them I used last night, it is a shea butter base with frankincense and myrrh essential oils. Really nice. The other is a sea buckthorn oil lotion that I suspect I can use on my face too if I need to.

I went to a small craft fair today with a neighbor. It was a lovely day and I'm glad I played hooky. I do so rarely. So I bought a quart of fireweed honey, produced locally but a strange and delightful gentleman and his bees. I just love him. Then bought a small crocheted headband. I could make such a thing myself but I got a little carried away by the atmosphere. It's fine, I really like it, just my colors and quite practical for me. I get headaches when it's cold or the wind blows in my ears. On the other side, I sold two chickens, so that paid for my lunch. Oh and I forgot to add last week that I got 3 more goats, doelings (8 month olds) that are show quality, fine fleece, much finer than any I have in my herd. Would be $250 to anyone else but $65 to me. And free little runt doe.

I used the polishing cloth from the microfiber pack and it does as advertised: cleaned my mirrors and windows with just water. No streaks, clean as a whistle.

--- That's what I always tell my family!!!! "Oh. You're just now noticing THOSE critters? Oh, they've been there for A WHILE!" (Yesterday is "a while.") HA! 'ing here, seriously! Me: "This old thing?" said about purse/sweater/scarf/whatever anyone is asking about. Nope, it's not a new purchase by someone with a shopping addiction, nope it wasn't a great deal that couldn't be passed up, nope - hey, maybe it's just something I found in one of my bins while sorting out my hoard? Hmmm. Angela, those are adorable goats! Do you spin their fleece? Noob here, so that might be a foolish question - but I always thought it would be awesome to have enough land to have sheep. My crazy daydream was to make the wool, and get my sister to knit the sweaters, and then sell them for big money. Basically, I know *nothing* about this

About two weeks ago I bought a new loveseat. I haven't had any usable living or sitting room furniture In years, actually just put the last piece on the curb because the dog ruined it years ago. When I started this big cleanup I told myself not until the downstairs is clean and I am Mature and responsible enough to take care of one and keep, the dogs off of it. I hope I'm there!

It was cold. It was dark. It was raining. I was at the store.
I bought a cheap rose and pink mingled sweater because the colors were beautiful, and I was cold.

cleanbee that is awesome that you got yourself some nice new furniture AFTER ditching the old, soiled piece! I hope it really enhances your home and your comfort. dayeanu, sue5000, and cyn those are angora goats that grow mohair. So yes, I shear their fleece every 6 months, wash it, dye it, sell it, spin it. These goats are from a local breeder with a big, beautiful herd of these goats. She wins championships at all the big shows with her animals. These new goats make the ones I have look pretty bad. And these are the ones that aren't quite good enough for her. You should see the ones that she keeps to show. Wow.

I'm so excited, just thinking about you spinning this. What I'd love, is to pre-order some of your mohair. Or even better (since I don't know how to knit) to commission you to make me one of those beautiful cowls! Oh yeah!
