Sunday I went to Sam's Club with dd. I bought a 48 pack of tp for $15.00 and a box of vacuum sealer bags that I saved $35.00 on. I also bought some baby food and juice and two outfits for dgd, but that stayed at dd's house.

I bought two sweat shirts on clearance. My old ones are looking ratty. Definitely have hit the "barn cleaning" stage.

At the thrift store I found a white bowl and pitcher. I thought they were just for water, but on the bottom it says that they can be used in the oven, microwave, and put in the dishwasher. Yay! At another store, I found a beautiful (really beautiful) wreath made entirely of shells. Did I mention it's beautiful? It's really heavy, so I didn't want to hang it, in case it fell and broke. So I'm using it as my dining room table centerpiece. I put my favorite white pitcher in the middle of it. It looks great on my white tablecloth. I will do one in, one out for these new things. seashell the wreath sounds beautiful! I like to put candles in the center of a wreath on the table . I'd love to find a shell wreath!

Today took my daughter thrift store shopping and got three handbags and a wallet,a silver piggy bank shaped like a train,a book,a fold out mini couch with Elmo for baby...grand total 31 bucks. Each of the purses retails at forty five or so,wallet about 30. All the bags are leather.
Returning Bluetooth device for wireless keyboard...found mine. Got original Sailor Moon video with translations.

Sounds like some wonderful finds seashell! I support your one in, one out idea. angela, I try to do the "one in, one out" method when I bring new things into the house. It's gotten a little challenging, though, because I'm pretty much down to things I really love. But it's good for me, I think, and important not to be adding to my belongings any more than possible.

dayeanu, I found the wreath at a Home Goods store. If you have one in your area, maybe you can get one! Putting candles in the middle sounds lovely.
Oops, I just realized I'm encouraging you to buy something. Sorry about that.

I realised I have not mentioned a t-shirt I ordered some time ago and got last Saturday. It is purple with yellow letters saying: I am not weird, I am a limited edition. I am not much into t-shirts with signs on them, but I needed this one.

I was a naughty person today. I came home with 12 paint brushes and 60 containers with screw on caps. I did not need the items but the price was right - free. I do have a tote completely full of paint brushes. I use two of the screw on containers each day for my lunch.

My acquisition yesterday. 50 yards of recycled sari silk ribbon. I'm planning on a woven piece. Or...sewn in strips on some cotton voile...or sewn in strips on some silk habotai fabric I have to dye..
I also bought two strands of African shell beads, one strand in yellow, the other in soft orange. I can wear them as is.

ooooh to the African shell beads, Angela - what a find! wear them happily and in good health. have fun weaving or sewing the silk ribbon too. are you going to do your dyeing magic with it? yesterday's acquisitions: after much ado about trying to resist going to the Library book sale and resisting for most of the day, i succumbed to my own devilish acquisition tendencies and went. bought ONE book on Mexican folk art, one dvd on Day of the Dead which i will likely donate after watching, and 8 cds. for $10. stayed within my spending budget. At checkout, they couldn't believe i could leave with only one book; neither could i. although i'm disappointed that i gave into the discomfort, my kudos to myself will be to say that i fought the urge for many hours and went at the end - i did not get in line 45 minutes early and i did not go home with BOXES of books, and that is new behavior for me. i'll take it as progress. i'm going through the cds i just bought now, and so far have kept 2, and have 1 on the donation pile.

I bought a hardcover copy of Dacia Maraini's new book written in Italian about Chiara of Assisi, at her reading tonight. She inscribed it for me. Now, as for reading it... that's a whole nother thing.
