sue5000 OOoh...new black pants. I will head out to look for some. I think Walmart carries Dockers brand. You ask how I could lose my pants? ...in the black hole that is my bedroom floor! I kne washed them and I knew I put them on top of the bin that holds my underwear and socks. From there? They probably looked around the room and realized the mess they were in a committed hari kari by jumping into the fray.....

Several months ago I bought a beautiful new set of buttercream-colored damask sheets to fit my twin bed (I've been using my queen-sized sheets all this time, tucked way in). Unfortunately the twin set has only 1 pillowcase, and I have 2 pillows. So I haven't even opened the package all these months. When I bought the set, I priced a package of extra pillowcases (2)... the sale price was $30 same as I paid for the set. Ouch! Regular price was $50!!! So the package has sat on my shelf all these months while I pondered the unthinkable... to sleep with only 1 pillow. *shudder* BUT! Macy's had a huge sale over the holiday weekend. I got the pillowcases for $20, much easier to swallow that price. Plus, to inaugurate my newly clean and radiant bath tub, I bought a lovely bath mat (reg $34, sale $12). And 3 new undies (reg $33, sale $18). Me happy now.

sue5000 the owls that come down the chimney are barn owls. I've had 3 now over the years. This last one was part of a pair. They woke up DH as he slept right next to the fireplace. The female of the pair went back up the chimney and out, the male came down into the fireplace. Poor S was freaking out. It was funny, but not...the owl was puffed up and hissing and S was truly afraid it would attack him. I simply reached in and gently folded the owl's wings and lifted him out securely. The picture is of me holding him. The second picture is of him resting in my lap as I admired him. After a few minutes of visiting, I just took him outside and he flew away. Later on, S put a piece of hardware cloth over the chimney entrance so the poor owls wouldn't get confused and come down looking to nest again.

Last run into city with my friend, we shopped at Cato's. Had a hot pink sweater, loved it. Size larger than me and size smaller than me. Tried on the blue in my size, and they ordered the hot pink my size from another location. Arranged for DD to be called, she picked up.
Run into city over memorial wknd. Picked up sweater, color looks wonky, went to Joann Fabric to buy something to go with. Found, bought, and they seriously undercharged. S/H/B around $35, was $12. Acquired fabric I do NOT need!!! sigh. Kudos: Only bought one item! Not a bag full, nor any quilting tools/notions/etc/etc.
Checked the sweater against the purse I bought at the same time to go with, does NOT go with. Dilemma...return? ugh.
Same trip Memorial wknd, bought natural toothpaste and vanilla beans.
Last week online, Do not even remember why I thought I needed to quilt fabric shop. bigger sigh.
I do have wedding gift place-mats to make, and she wants blues. I had basement shopped and found some navies and creams. Anyway, online found a kit 50% off, fabric worked out to something like $3.50 yd. Kit was coordinated blues. Need to ask which color direction she wants me to go.
In the clearance section found a fat quarter, coordinated bundle. I dunno why I buy them. They fascinate me, but using them mystifies me. I do love scrappy quilts, guess I need to start cutting.
Also in clearance, bought two yardage pieces, 4 yards to back a baby quilt top already made (UFO) and 10 1/2 yds to back a queen UFO. (un finished object)
Again, need quilt fabric like a hole in the head.

Yeah, I need to stay off this online site too. And they keep sending me coupons. I will probably order some soon-ish but have been good so far. Aww mouseanne you are in a big club with the fabric. I love fabric and have to really be disciplined right now about NOT buying any. Though I am considering some for the upstairs decor projects I have going on. But first I have to set up a sewing station and make sure my machine is ready. I am committed to not buying supplies until I am reasonably ready to actually do the project.

Nice purchases papermoon. Glad you got such good sales on needed items. Does this mean your bath surround is all scrubbed down? ?

Does this mean your bath surround is all scrubbed down? ? The tub itself is good, but the surround is only about 90% there. My arms ache from scrubbing the months-old scum. I may have to cave in and buy the heavy-duty cleanser that razy recommended. The beautiful new bath mat is incentive for getting it done.

Well done papermoon. I just bought some heavy duty scrubbing Magic Erasers, Mr. Clean brand. I am really hoping they will do the job I need done in the toilet bowl. Regular brushing, spraying, etc. have not kept it clean. My daily wiping out of the sink and bathtub keep the soap scum down but not gone 100% so I am hitting those areas with these scrubbers too. They work great.

(And angela) I'm told that a solution of half and half white vinegar and Dawn dish soap, mixed in a spray bottle, spray on, let sit (maybe overnight?), rinse off, and it will clean itself. This is supposed to be good for tubs, toilets, and even cleaning ovens! Anything with serious build-up. (I have not personally tried it yet.)

I don't ever mention this, but I love fabric, I love creating things with sewing.
I have a really cool machine (hope it still works.)
I don't mention it because I'm so far from being able to set up the machine, it's terribly frustrating.
I bought a garden tillar. :/

Thank you for that cleaning tip dayeanu. Glad to have you in the fabric club. I hope for all of us with our fabric and craft stashes that we will break through and at least make a space to make things. We so deserve it. Okay, went off the rails today with recreational shopping. I had gone into town for my weekly food shopping and gassed up the van. I just didn't want to go home so I went to Goodwill, Value Village, then back to Goodwill. Found some nice but likely unnecessary things, but I had fun I guess and some novelty for my wardrobe. A perfectly fitting pair of YELLOW Dockers jeans. These actually make me really happy and will fit in great with several of my summer tops and scarves. Peachy pink short pants. I guess they are called capris but these aren't a narrow leg. Again, a nice match for some of my tops that just didn't have a matching bottom. BRAND NEW SAS brand russet brown shoes. They have a velcro strap, triple point support in the soles, small cut-outs along the foot. They look more summery than the brown shoes I've been wearing. And I think they're more supportive too. All cotton off-white pull-over sweater. I will put the white sweater that I haven't worn and didn't like well enough into the donation pile in exchange. Cream colored dress slacks. Putting another pair that are a touch too tight on the donation pile. Denim blue linen button up shirt. A pack of plastic canvas to make a second fleece washing basket. 2 skeins of green novelty yarn (seriously? ) A fulled wool blanket in a delightful, vintage seafoam aqua green color. Free. It is sitting folded on the back of my futon couch with the kitty enjoying it. The color matches the aqua ground in the new fabric I got a month or so ago for my big couch pillow. Got my copy of The Joy of Being Disorganized in the mail. Pam Young's newest book. Love her kind and practical tools to working with and celebrating the unique creative qualities that can make housework fall to the bottom of the to-do list.

I came across a great local history type book for DH at the goodwill shop, practically brand new - he is reading it at the moment, there are lots of pictures of events and people that are jogging his memory. I have also spotted some cute little liqueur glasses, but I don't really need them so I am thinking on it. However, angela - I wish that I was lucky enough to find SAS shoes, they fit my difficult feet and cost a fortune over here. Happy walking.
