I bought a helmet to wear on my bicycle. A fancy frock for the 5 year old. Another cookbook (pure impulse and not really needed) Two black skirts for R. A dress for Kiddo. A couple of dresses for my granddaughter, and an underarmor shirt for my grandson. A pair of sleep pants for another grandson (R's BF wore my grandson's sleep pants one night and ripped out the drawstring so I replaced them) I also purchased an inexpensive purse whose only saving grace is that it was cheap and DRY. I had put my purse in the back floorboard and picked it up to find water dripping down my leg....So I bought a dry one at the thrift store.

OMG, since DH's surgery we have spent money like water, though it was all for good causes. We've bought dinner for friends willing to drive us long distances, meals and gas for our kids who came to help out their Dad, clothes that DH can get into without strain--button-front shirts, sweat pants, relaxed-fit jeans, new slippers--a slew of new medications. Fortunately, he's worth every penny.

I acquired some more clothes last weekend, all free. My friend was moving and wanted to get rid of a bunch so I took them. I've sorted the ones I want and will donate the rest. This was good timing as weight loss left me with only one pair of fitting jeans and in my keep pile are three more that fit. So I didn't have to go jeans shopping, woohoo. I also decided to keep a few cute summer dresses and cute shirts.
Lately I've done good with spending. No more clothes shopping or book shopping.

garage sale season started last weekend. I bought stuff. mostly good or good enough decisions.
Im also planning my own garage sale, with a friend. I'm selecting stuff to get rid of now. It's hard to decide. I'm reminded of how my taste has changed, I now really like stuff I thought was weird and ugly 10 years ago.
I have stuff from 10 years ago I could get rid of. But for me things go in cycles. I got rid of all my books of a certain series and now another bunch of years later I would like them again.
It's not only books. so hard to decide stuff. However I'm not a hoarder like I used to be. I could get rid of all of it. I am still person who really likes treasures though. well, I'll just get rid of some stuff because I have limited space.

I bought a new two-drawer file cabinet to fit under DH's desk, since the old one was a wreck, for a bargain $35. I've also purchased a couple of $1.99 Kindle books, along with picking up several freebies, since I'm spending more time at home than usual taking care of DH, and Newton Minnow was right about TV--it's a "vast wasteland," mostly, especially during the day.

I have just ordered a new music player (like ipod, but not the brand) as my old one died on me last night and it is not worth having it repaired. I really need it for listening to audiobooks.
There is an anual book fair here this weekend and I have allowed myself to buy ONE new book.
Otherwise I just spent some money on alergy medicine and necessary garden stuff (medicine for trees) and food. I seem to spend most of my money on food.

I picked up my new music player on Saturday and it seems to work fine, although there are some differences I have to get used to.
I bought several kinds of good quality tea leaves.
I did not buy anything on a book fair, but I decided to buy the book I really want from someone - a friend of mine came across an add and she is getting a book from this seller too.

Bought DH a new alarm clock with lighted numbers, because he wanted something he could see at night from across the room. It's little, but bright, so he can put it far enough away from the bed that he has to get up to turn off the alarm.
