Hi OnTheMend, well done for vaccuming, dishes and all that work on your new computer. Yes, I am in the eastern part of Australia, it is nearly 11am on Tuesday morning. I guess I had better get working, and not waste too much time on the interweb. Sleep well, and hope to see you again.

Hi there jendela. Its going on 7:30 PM here in Eastern Canada. Very odd day. After I got back from groceries, I started seeing things - leaves, pieces of paper - blowing upwards by my 10th storey windows. High high winds. Ds came by - ddil dropped him off on way to her gym - and he worked on my computer and the router - and he thinks he figured out the problem, which he sheepishly admitted he himself did. The other router didn't work at all. We think everything is going to work properly now. The lights dipped twice when he was here. He asked me if I needed help with anything else - so I had him help me move some large and awkward pieces of furniture (I currently have 2 coffee tables plus 4 side tables in my LR, and my area rug was still all rolled up in front of the LR window in the way - anyway we got the tables moved as I wanted and the area rug down. His plan was to walk home - but then he decided he would take a laundry basket that they had brought here for something - and had some old electronic stuff from my old house - that he decided he was going to try and sell, so he asked if I could give him a ride home with it. I did but we went through an area of no electricity, no stop lights and the main street going towards his house was closed off my police for some reason, and no lights there either, so we had to double around. He still had power at his house and I got home okay, but it would have been awful for him walking in this - especially on the dark streets. Once home I moved 4 boxes from the entrance to under the desk in the kitchen. 3 are definitely china - 1 could be or knickknacks for the spare room or LR, but my intent was to just get them out of the entrance and then deal with 1 box at a time. (I still have more to move into the DR, but I need to move stuff out first, so that will probably be done tomorrow. My supper is now ready and I'm going to go and eat. I want to start getting my dishes washed nightly, now that I can put them all away.

hi hollyhock, it sounds pretty scary to be driving in conditions like that, with no traffic lights. Glad to hear that you got home safely. I have finished washing dishes, check cat litter (no scooping required), swept, refreshed cat water bowl, recycles out. Now I am going to put dry washing away, and hang damp washing to dry. enjoy your supper.

Supper is done. The intersection with the traffic lights out - you just treat it like a 4 way stop - and you hope the other drivers know that - it was 2 4 lane streets intersecting. What was scarier was the stuff blowing around. It was garbage day near my son's today and many recycle boxes were in the street, even tarps blowing around. 1 street I drove up a large tree had snapped, and was partly on the street, but at least there were lights there. I'm assuming the area the police had closed off was either a bad accident or a tree maybe down. Once in a while they direct at the streets with lights out, but they weren't tonight. Good for you jendela for doing dishes, looking after litter, sweeping, etc. I hope everything else goes well. Off to do my own dishes.

Yes, hollyhock, you have to hope that the other drivers behave appropriately. I have been reading about the bad weather in the USA - I don't know how I would cope with weather like that, having to drive in the snow, etc. Anyway, it is good that you are at home, with shopping and dishes done, and no need to go out. Are you working tomorrow? I have rebooted the laundry - hung wet clothes to dry and a new load in the washer. I am going to try for 5 minutes of paperwork.

Dishes are done, kitchen is cleaned, garbage tossed. jendela, I am off tomorrow. I had kind of planned out of house stuff tomorrow, with planning to get my snow tires on, but once I could not book that, I did out of house stuff today instead. I will be back in the morning.

That kind of weather combined with no electricity sounds scary, hollyhock. I hope it will get fixed soon. I forgot to mention that I took a heap of recycling out yesterday on my way to a doctor. It was really needed. I did some shopping, but I am still waiting restlesly for my sick leave to end, because I am running out of few things I can not buy in the shops here. I do not have much plans for today: battle with a cold, read, listen to audiobooks... and of course wash dishes. That is about the only chore I do these days, apart from making my bed.

Good morning! There's hoar frost on the roofs for the first time, and the sun is shining. I love this kind of weather . Sorry to hear you are still battling with the cold, lucie. Could your flatmate go shopping for you, or do you need to do it yourself? I had breakfast and decided to get rid of another book. Next: shower, make bed.

Flotsam, my flatmate shops for all necessary things and I still have enough tea left to last me this week and if I run out of a jam, well, I can live without it for a few days. I would rather buy these myself, I am picky with a quality and like certain brands.
Good job getting rid of another book. Is it a fiction or a non fiction?

This book is fiction. Nice, but not so nice that I'll reread it. Ugh, still reading here. I'd better get going!

So happy to read all the great things y'all have been doing! Monday: Slept very late, today. That was very unusual! Woke up at 10:17am med to Puppy fed dogs went with DS to Target as he needed a couple things Put 5 pairs of DH's old black jeans in trunk of my car to be given away Put 1 brand new laptop carrying bag/case in my trunk to be given away Went to grocery store -- their "Fresh" turkeys were frozen... need a fresh turkey. Went to another grocery store -- much farther away... bought a fresh turkey, there. Got DS to go thru drawers in his dresser. - He went thru 3 drawers & left things out in one area to giveaway or toss. And, managed to consolidate & end up with 2 drawers that are empty. Now, my parents will have a place to put their clothes while they are visiting. Put 7 papers into recycle bag Put 5 items into trash can Put the following into Giveaway pile: 4 pairs of glasses, 4 pairs of socks, 2 headbands, 1 belt, 1 hat, etc. Put groceries away Put away hand-washed stuff from drainboard fed dogs, again Unloaded dishwasher. Removed linens from the Sofa Sleeper that DS was using. Actually, he is still using it, but decided to try it being cllosed up (just a soaf). So, I put clean sheets on it for him. These sheets are smaller (Twin Size). Folded the sheets from the Sofa Sleeper that DS was using. Put those sheets in DD's room temporarily because I plan to open that Sofa Sleeper back up and put an air mattress on top of it for extra comfort. DS does not like air mattresses, but I will put one on there for my Brother. The (Queen Size) sheets will fit both the Sofa Sleeper mattress & the air mattress. Put away load of Laundry that was already folded. I've enjoyed spending time with my DS, today! CD

on working on preparation for your guests, cando! It dawned on me that I won't be able to cook a stew on Wednesday and Thursday, and Friday will be too late. So after taking a shower, wiping down the tiles and making the bed I went to the grocery store (so nice to have an Aldi's less than 500 yards away!), got everything I needed, prepared the stew and put the other groceries away. The stew is now simmering on the stove. Next: finish dinner prep and eat! (Luckily work starts a bit later today.)

Thanks, OnTheMend. Good work on the dishes! I finished dinner prep, put 3 portions in containers for the fridge and ate one serving. Now I'm drinking while doing my daily digital decluttering (almost finished). Next: dishes, vacuum, get ready for paid work.
