I've finished my morning routine (bed/bath), went to Aldi's, worked on deadline for Wednesday (finished early ), prepared a casserole and did the dishes. Next: digital decluttering until I need to get ready for paid work.

Good morning flotsam, as usual, thank you for starting us off for the week. I need to make a trip to Aldi's myself soon, there are certain items that I always try to get there because of the good prices.
I can't believe Christmas is just a week and a half away, this season always flies by so fast. I have paid work across the day today, so will just be finishing up a little cleaning for the repair visit tomorrow, and I also have more laundry to do. Other than that I don't think too much will get done.
Have a good Monday everybody!

Good morning everyone! Thanks, flotsam! I'm puttering around in a daze, recuperating from my hectic work schedule over the weekend. It's only going to get worse, as all my co-workers book off over the holidays and I pick up their shifts. Hopefully I'll still have some free time this week (2 meetings, 1 this afternoon) and can get something done around here besides the regular maintenance. I'm so tired it's not funny. Today I've dehaired the shower stall, fed the animals, and scooped. Later I'm going to launder some dog blankets in preparation for moving their beds and attacking the open shelving/walls/corner mess. At least I've already decluttered the shelf back there, so it's just a matter of dusting and reorganizing the accumulations, with a deep clean on the walls and microwave. Whee, that sounds like fun!

True to form, I didn't do what I said I would. The shower stall was bugging me, so I decided in my sleepy stupor that dousing the floor with bleach was a good idea. Now I'm feeling sick, from the fumes. I scrubbed it, then got out my little hand-held steam cleaner. There's still stains in the plastic floor - I guess after bleaching and scouring and streaming, they're here to stay. I also discovered that not only will I need to remove and replace the caulking, I'll need to repaint the frame on the shower stall, because some of the ick is actually rust from flaked paint. Lovely. My toilet is clean, yay. That special water-deposit cleaner I have really *does* work, so long as you use it regularly. My loose socks are sorted and put away (Thanks TML!) and my dog bedding is in the dryer. I'm having to go clean the lint trap every 10 minutes, because there's so much hair in there. I can't remember when that was washed last. I have to leave in an hour, so I'm relaxing for a bit.

I am repairing a screen tonight. Actually, I am replacing the screen and all of the wood trim. I did one window last night- and tackling #2 tonight.
I hate being told I am a woman and therefore incompetent. It is good to shake things up once in awhile.
I am also doing a load of laundry. I need my good pants and good jeans for work. Though I am tempted to see how many outfits I can create from my closet WITHOUT falling back on them.

Congrats, ohblondie! Those man-task myths are fun to debunk, aren't they? I put up the window trim in our kitchen, after getting tired of hearing what a nag I was, for continually asking when that would get done, . I'm not sure who I was kidding when I said I'd already decluttered a kitchen shelf. I just pitched $50+ of expired supplements & vitamins. What a waste of money. From now on, if I can't buy a chewable version, I'm not buying it at all. I hate swallowing those sub-sized things, no matter how good they're supposed to be for me.

Hi ohblondie, you go on the screen repair!! Cyn, I hope you're having a good meeting at work.
All I did this afternoon was move furniture around to free up space around the radiators. Oh, and I'm trying to dry the rags I washed this morning on the radiators that DO work, so that they'll be dry by tonight so I can put them away. It's mild today though, so they've only heated once this afternoon. I think I'm as ready as I'll ever be for this repair appointment.
Once it's over with I have a lot of paperwork type things to catch up on, financial records, tax stuff, etc.

I hope the rad repair is a success, Diane. Good luck! My meeting was uneventful, my DH cooked dinner and I've just cleaned up. I was curious how many other expired things I might have lingering in my home, and remembered seeing a few in the bathroom vanity. Yup, liquid vit. B exp. 2012, 5-HTP exp. 2010. Both of those were going to be life altering additions. Huh, we'll never know, since we never bothered to take them with any frequency. I have a few more inches of free space in the vanity now, that's nice.

Hi Cyn, keep booting those expired products out the door. Maybe your pantry has some?
Tonight I've put a few things away, dealt with mail, sent some emails to clients--just puttering around doing miscellaneous things. The goal for tonight is just to not make any messes before tomorrow. I also got some more book orders, and I'll work on those.

Well, I wish that I could do those type of repairs... particularly the one of the screen. Mine is torn from a rosebush in front of my Dining Room window and looks terrible. I wouldn't know how to begin... Great job for all you've done, today!!!!!! I wasn't able to check in here as I went... but here's what I've done today.... copied from saffron 's December Group thread in the Private Blogs section. made my bedbagged up some dirty laundry that was on the floor next to the washing machine Met DH at Cardiologist office. DH had special kind of EKG to rule out Brugada's Syndrome (? spelling) It will also be sent to a specialist in NY. Had nice breakfast with DH afterwards Dropped off mail at post officeMade deposit for DSCame home & picked up dogs & took to Dog's Play
Picked up stuff & put away in Front Bathroom, Back Bathroom, DS's Room, Office, Kitchen & den.Earlier this morning, I took that big bag of video tape boxes out to recycle can, Also took 2 other big bags of Paper Type Recyclables to outside can
Picked up all the dog water bowls & anything that I didn't want cleaner to either get cleaner or dust in. Put them all in garage temporarily.Unloaded dishwasherPut away hand-washed stuff from drainboardGathered up all the linens and comforters from beds my parents slept in. Put them into 2 big bags.Took those 2 big bags to my car to take to Laundromat later this week. (Maybe tomorrow)
Couple phone calls with Mom this morning.I'm so relieved!!! I had a Caregiver come in today for my parents... who had the attitude of, "I don't need any body". "Why do we need some one?" etc. etc. ad nauseum. (Mom does not even remember falling twice while she was here.... even the one the night before she left & going to the doctor after that fall....)Anyway, the first time that I talked to her.. she sounded so very stressed. Opposite affect of what we were wanting. We are wanting to relieve stress & anxiety. But, she called me the minute the Caregiver left and said, "I really liked her!!! I wish that I could have her every day!..." WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had cleaning service come, again. While they were here I did the following:Emptied 4 boxes that I had moved into DD's room, temporarily, from the Office.Broke down those 4 boxes & put those 4 boxes into garage to be picked up the next recycle pick up.Put 5 small boxes into recycle bagPut some things in trash from the boxes. (Filled a trash bag)
Picked up dogs from Dogs Playfolded/hung load of laundryput that load away

Good morning world Actually it is 10:30 here. I managed to fold and put away all laundry I washed during the weekendbefore I left for work, only two pieces are left out to be ironed next weekend. Until now I have been busy at work, tidying after the busy yesterday. I also took some paper out to the recycling and more will go on Friday, if it is not taken by then (magazines). Now I am thinking about taking one or two hours off tomorrow evening - the question is: one or two hours?

Hi everyone! Good work, everybody! Cando, some screens are very easy to replace - if it has a spline holding the screen in place, you just remove that and you can insert a new piece of screening and then cut away the excess. If it's in a fixed frame, it's more difficult. I took one to a window shop to have that kind replaced, but I think it's just a matter of having the right tools, though it was fairly inexpensive to have it done for me. I'm getting there, slowly, today. I can't decide if I should do something in the kitchen - or if I should brave the doom room and break down my empty box collection. I'm leaning towards the boxes, since it's recycling day tomorrow. I've already gotten almost a full bag of trash, which was one of my goals: to get a bag prefilled before garbage pick-up - with my 2 bag limit, that still leaves me a whole bag for all the small containers around the house, and any fridge/freezer stuff.
