I need some good stuff to bring to the party, but I just keep adding boring junk mail to this darn trash can. How much paper do we need for the bonfire, anyway??!! I KNOW nobody wants to read all this garbage! Leftover corn sound good to anyone? I'm bringing it to the party!!! Dryer lint? What can we use that for, besides adding to the bonfire? Off to sort more papers...

Adding some confetti (shredded receipts) and four bags of blank newsprint - any one have some old paints for finger painting?? FINALLY have my shredder up and running - current goal is to do what I have per day and then run it for five minutes on the old stuff. I actually got a full bag in 10 minutes - and still have a bunch to do!!

2 cans and open cat treats from the pantry that expired 5 years ago. That goes along with the gigantic bag of shredding- 15 years of old bills out of my house.
Next- the 2012 pantry years.

I cleaned the snow off my station wagon tonight, tomorrow morning I will fill the anti-freeze. It is easier to fill in daylight. I have a helper coming in tomorrow. I have at this point 10 cans mostly paint that is going to the hazardous waste site at the water department. After that is done, then there will be a box packed plus books for a group whose mission is to help people get back on their feet. It will be put in the car, so that it is set to get rid of Monday noon.

I have a dozen 4 inch paint brushes - I could give some or all to a neighbor, or I could donate some - what do I do? What is a reasonable amount to keep of 6 oz. 8 oz and 12 oz containers with screw on caps. I have at least 30 of each.

phoenixcat i have some finger paint to add to your newsprint. and fluffychild has paint brushes! (i say keep one, five to neighbor, donate the rest, thats just my suggestion. On the jars, if you have a use in the next week for any, keep exactly that many, recycle the rest. a specific use, not just in case. a little tough love, i hope rhats ok). Irisheyes dryer lint! yes!!! i will felt them into slippers for those of us who forget where we pur our shoes. i have a box of produce that got delivered last night. unfortunately they put it in the wrong place and i didnt realize it came until this afternoon. in the meantime, it sat outside all night and the temperature dropped to 2 degrees F last night. i got frozen veggies now.

hey everyone - fingerpainting at swampy's! oh Unswamping - you're so arty! i'll take a pair of those dryer lint slippers! so sorry about the frozen vegies, though. can you put them in a soup? things that are meant to be used "raw" you can put in at serving time, and just wilt them. you'll still get the vitamins that way. might want to chop them up fine first, while in frozen state though, otherwise, they could look a bit slimy/stringy. i'll donate an old ace bandage, a scratched CD, an old bottle of tea tree oil, several dried up lip balms, some old cough drops, and two old or flawed garments that i cut the zippers out of (thrifty way to get dress, jacket, or pillow zippers, which you can't buy here)

I put 5 paint brushes and the Sunday paper on my neighbor's kitchen sink. I have access to his house to let his dogs out while he is at work. By the end of the weekend, I expect to pick up 36 mason jar mugs, 18 paintbrushes, 6 dusting kits, 6 furniture polish, 3 racket tools. The jar mugs are a definite donation. I figure on keeping 2 furniture polish - one for home and one for the office. I can donate the rest. Let me clue you about paint brushes, I have at least a 10 gallon tote full of my favorite brand. I did find in the back of the car, 6 bottles of wood glue. I had already brought one into the house and gave one away. I did get rid of the paint today. I had my helper go into the basement next door and we got a chair out of the house to bring into the house I live in. The chair that I had in my house was starting to come apart. My helper got that chair out and the other chair into the house. I am hoping that by late tomorrow, to set up my station wagon with donations. I found a place, drive through, off the street, the guys willingly come out to the car to get the stuff and they willingly give the receipt. My helper was able to eliminate some boxes today. I have drapes and books set to go out of that house.

What a party last night! I hope you all enjoyed the lettuce and lemons that met their sad fate in my veggie drawer. Poor things! I always avoid the cookie aisle and buy fresh produce - but then I get home and make those easy peanut butter cookies and refuse to eat the salad, duh. Why?
I'm going to start getting ready for next week's party today - I'm taking on my back porch (aka 'what a hoard!') and there should be lots of stuff leaving.

I added some cucumbers you could wave around because your finger sticks right through them - should be a tasty addition to the salad. Also some lovely brown lettuce. Another bag of confetti - I'm about one third done with my shredding that piled up since we moved here. Messy job. PC
