Good morning! Just wanted to jump in to the challenge a little late! To share my next goal, it is to take all of the coats off of the coat rack. Wash the ones that are washable and take the others to the cleaners. Every time I think about this winter tries to make a come back, so sure enough it is chilly here this morning. I also hang my purses there and tote bags so it is quiet the mess. It is in the kitchen entrance that everybody uses, so it is a public place that gives a bad impression for guests. That's what they get for not going the extra steps to get to the "official" front door. Oh well, can't change people so will tidy up the entrance.

I didn't mop, but I swept again, put down the throw rugs and assembled the coffee table. The glass doesn't quite fit, but it's OK for now. I took pictures of the assembly. An old coal scuttle of my parents that I had painted black a few years ago was dug out, dusted off and set under the coffee table to hold a few magazines, current bills and receipts. I'm very please with the way it looks. I also dusted the 6' bookcase and all the knicknacks yesterday. Today I will pick up a few more things in the kitchen and load up to go to dd's. She wants her childhood plastic turtle sandbox for dgd and a bicycle she stored here 3 years ago. I have a large plastic drink crate filled with other things to take and there is also a whole pork loin that I had sliced, a 10lb sack of potatoes and 5 packs of cream cheese to take that I found on sale for a really good price.
She is talking about having a yard sale and wanted to know if I had things to put in it. She lives in a huge subdivision and should get plenty of customers.

More good work being done, I see. Welcome Sandra, I know what you mean about the weather, I hate this time of year because it literally changes hourly, so I never know what to wear. Maybe you'd be safe putting away your heaviest coats, though? I did finish the other half of the blinds yesterday, so that set is done. The two sets I did previously were on the side of my sunporch, this one faces the front, and the street--and somehow they are even dirtier than the others! I could only wipe one part of one slat before having to change a place on the rag(s) because so much dirt was coming off. So this set took even longer to do. There's a big difference looking at the 3 front blinds now, the one clean one is several shades lighter than the other two. Now that I've started I feel like I should just keep cleaning rather than buy new--or maybe at least clean the sunporch blinds so they'll all look the same--I'm afraid if I buy some new they'll look obviously different. There are 7 in all on the sunporch, that means 4 more to go. This afternoon I hope to start on another box of books to see if they can be listed for sale. Diane

Everyone is working hard. Good for all of you. Relatives came to visit so I spent time with them. Making Easter food and church. I did not get much done. Laundry is in good shape. I went out to the clothesline which must have come donwn during this winter so that will need to be replaced. Cleaned out my purse. Vacation items all put away. I hope to get more done this weekend. It looks clear on the calendar but who knows what will pop up.

I finally have all of the pieces of my bedframe in my room but with having a nerve block in my right knee yesterday and the pain still being severe not much has gotten done around here the past two days. 1) get my room cleaned and organized especially all of the paperwork - I was trying to get my neat subscription updated but am having serious difficulties so no scanning got done 2) Make at least 2 food items for me each week from scratch - made granola bars and a cake 3) Go thru the rest of my items in the attic - Not started 4) Go thru my items in storage - Brought a bunch of items to where she is staying and took out 3 boxes and gave them to her grandchildren 5) work on straightening out my bills - Medical is finally situated at this point and I finally called about getting student loans forgiven and will find out tomorrow if that is going to happen. If I am able to get those forgiven then I will only have $3,500 worth of bills to get paid off which I should be able to do soon hopefully.

Good for you, cyn. I am sooooo jealous. I am still digging through shoeboxes full of last year's papers. I have an appointment on the 15th to get my taxes done. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute.

Unpacked 13 boxes from the "doom room" yesterday plus did a bunch of other sorting and discarding. It is the room right off the garage so it still held remnants of holiday wrapping, stuff from our original move where we dumped everything that wasn't immediately needed and when we did a major sort to move stuff out of the prime living areas - we moved it all in there A lot of it is things that need to be hung up - pictures, clocks, etc. - the closet is now full of "the hang up project". Moved 10 boxes from there into the library/office and hope to work on that today. My ticker is finally showing more done than left to do

Unpacked 13 boxesWow, fantastic! Yes, the hanging up part--I've had a large framed print in my apartment for all the years I've lived here, and never did get around to learning how to hang it. I hope you get around to yours sooner than that! Cyn, great work on the taxes--and it's not even the 15th yet! So over the last week or so I've managed to get rid of the 4 additional boxes that were in a corner next to my old bookcase. For some reason they really bugged me after the rest of the stuff was gone from that area, and the book case looked so nice otherwise. I've moved a little table into that corner, and it looks really good now. Out of the 4 boxes of books, I would say only one box total was okay to be listed for sale, another box is being donated, and the 2 other boxes are still here but being evaluated for trading. However, I made room for them by finding more donation books in other area, so they're no longer in the LR. My donation books are building up again, but the place I donated many bags to last year has their book sale coming up, I think it's in June--so I'll be able to get rid of them in one fell swoop. (Wow, that's a strange phrase when you actually type it out, isn't it?) I'm home this afternoon and it's sunny and bright today, so I'm going to commit to working on blinds again this afternoon, even if just for a little while. I'll aim for the top quarter of one set--the top part is the hardest. I'll come back and report what I did (or didn't do) tonight. Diane

I only remembered the blinds after I'd been home for a while and it was getting cloudy. I dragged everything out though, and washed 1/2 of 1 set. So I exceeded my goal. Have I mentioned how much I hate that job? ?? Diane

I'm still here, but I'm visiting my parents even more as my dad is in a rehab after having kidney stones and now there is a foot problem. The trees holding up part of the clothes line came down. Reattached the clothes line. Picked up litter along the road in front of the house and around the yard. Took Christmas and winter porch and mailbox decorations down and put away. "Dusted" porch bench. Porch is not dirty so it did not need sweeping. Put up spring porch decorations. Planted 2 potted bulb plants from dad who is in a rehab Many errands completed. Last Saturday slept in which was very much needed.
