I made a mess of the sewing room floor Tuesday trying to put the finishing touches on my income tax and trying to find the folder to put my copy in. The living room is almost there and the kitchen table has only three items out of place which will be put away in a few minutes.
The front porch is better than it has been in a while. I even wiped off a bench that the visiting two year old twins can sit on tomorrow. There is one large piece of cardboard that I saved for BMF to use if he needs it, then I will put it in the burn pile. The new wringer washing machine is still on the porch and in a few days I will have to make a place to put it in an outbuilding.
I must say that expecting small wiggly children has really made me get myself in gear.

How's everyone doing? My goal was to finish unpacking for the winter challenge and now it is the spring challenge. Well - it has been a challenge to say the least I have high hopes of unpacking everything but the garage by month end but whether everything will be put away is another story - I have a closet full just of things to hang on the walls. Are we continuing for "summer -1st phase"? Unpacked 10 boxes last night into the book shelves. Took up more room than I thought - have to change my thinking as to where I was putting some other stuff that was originally going onto these shelves! Good luck everyone!! PC

1) get my room cleaned and organized especially all of the paperwork - I was trying to get my neat subscription updated but am having serious difficulties so no scanning got done. Worked on bed frame this week but figured out I am going to need to flip my room all around to fit it properly. 2) Make at least 2 food items for me each week from scratch - wasn't able to make anything this week 3) Go thru the rest of my items in the attic - Not started 4) Go thru my items in storage - Have to wait since things got seriously messed up and wasn't able to pay 5) work on straightening out my bills - Student loans have been forgiven but in order for the company to work for me I have to pay $39/mo but I am willing to do that since I will get almost $20,000 worth of loans and interest forgiven. I was also able to get one bill lowered and now have all my bills together and will work on getting them paid off!

Just one week left! My report is the same as it was last time--I exceeded my book sorting goal, I'm failing miserably at my stretching goal (have now abandoned it completely), my blind cleaning total is now 4 out of 13 and my cleaning schedule goal--not a failure, not a success, at least not in the way I was imagining--but I've learned a lot about this particular effort and feel like I'm making some progress, so I'm not displeased about that one. I've been thinking about the next two months, what do I want to accomplish? Diane

I did get my taxes done by April 3rd, but I've fallen off the wagon for everything else. I will jump in for May and June, if you do a challenge for that time period. I'm planning to drive to WA State from CA at the end of June, so I need to have everything done. Is it ever done? Great job to those who have been persevering!

Hi Saffron--we'll definitely have a May June challenge, in fact, as long as people like and use this format I'm sure we'll have them forever because as you said, nothing is ever completely done!! Imagine having NOTHING that you had to challenge yourself to do! That won't happen in my lifetime.

Wasn't planning on it but had an unexpected day at home so unpacked the garage!! I have decided on a shipment coming from DM's next month and some of it has to be stored in the extra room off the garage. The storage room has built in cabinets etc. Right now a lot of "tools" etc. are sitting on the counter but floors are mostly clear making room for the shipment. Some of what I unpacked has to come back into the house. Not sure if I will get any more boxes done by month end. I have a lot that I'm unpacking and moving into plastic totes for more long term projects. I'm out of totes though so not sure if I will get more this week or not. My next projects will be: Finish unpacking - getting pretty close Hang all the stuff on the walls that has been accumulating Start a veggie garden when I return Hope everyone is doing well. PC

I cleaned the attic as like wanted to and I am happy with that. I managed to loose just 2 kilos. Hoped it would be more. Oh well, 5 more still to go. I want to loose at least 3 more by the end of June.

May is a new month. I'll be setting goals. -Finished the mudroom windows so the mudroom is officially spring cleaned. -Began cleaning out the car. I still have a lot to remove from it. The weather this weekend is suppose to be great so I am hoping to finish that job and vacuum it out too. -Took in outdoor nativity scene and made sure it was really dry. - Began on the driveway: cleaning up sand, leaf and twig debris. I am starting the wood pile and then will continue on the driveway. Talked to dh and told him I wanted to maintain the driveway and not go backwards. He agreed. -I need to "wash" and air out wool sweaters this weekend also.

I got rid of 2 big grocery bags full of paper. Includes boxes/paper from groceries.
In May I'll be touching up and painting a few areas.

I'm sooo ready to repaint/refinish furniture. But those things will have to wait on the (hopefully very soon-to-be) next place! I keep wanting to spacebag all my cold/cool weather stuff, but the weather has been so sporadic, I keep finding myself reaching for those items. No complaints, however! The longer the scorching heat and stifling humidity are kept at bay, the better!

My three goals were: - establish an exercise program - handle 2 financial matters - main rooms of house clean enough to let people in.
I have to admit, my exercise program completely fell by the wayside. It is important for my health that I exercise, so I am going to have to work on that.
The main rooms of the house are every bit as bad as they were at the beginning of this challenge. Maybe the living room, where I am sorting papers is even worse. It is awful. But, as many here know, once it gets so bad, there is no quick and easy route to clean.
I did make major progress on handling the two financial matters. Neither is complete, but both are underway and at a point where I am less afraid that I was when I entered this challenge.
So what is the verdict...did I meet my goals?? Well...the house and the exercise program were a total miss. But I am happy with the progress I have made in clearing up some financial matters that were causing me some major anxiety. All three of my goals need to go back on the list for the next two months. And to that list, I will have to add a 4th item...outdoor lawn and garden cleanup.
Knowing I was going to come back weekly and report my progress on this thread, motivated me...and that is a good thing.
