The first wardrobe is moved completely and also the shelves from the second one. That used up just about all the energy I had.

Hi ellen, I hope you were able to work outside today. Lucie, you've done a lot of work--are you keeping these wardrobes for your parents? Or do you think you'll use them later on?
My goal this week was to get my emails down to under 700, and I managed to get to about 600. The problem is, that I mostly got rid of the easy ones to get there, that means there are at least 500 of them that will require some action or thought. So, I might continue next week to try to rid of the more time-consuming ones. I'm not sure what a reasonable number would be to shoot for, maybe 100 still being on the page at any time. It sounds kind of low to me, maybe 200 will be a more realistic goal. I think next week's goal will be to get down to 100 and then see what's left--then maybe I'll decide that 200 is the number.
There are always emails that I need a couple of days to either think about, or to make sure that I'm reminded about whatever it is I'm supposed to do about them. So I'm always going to have some messages just sitting waiting. It would just be nice to ONLY have emails that are currently pending, and I honestly don't know how many that would be because I've never been down to 100 for more than a day or so.
My water drinking goal has been fairly easy to keep up into this week, today was the only day I didn't drink 3 bottles, and that was because I was waiting for a cable guy to come all morning, so I didn't eat breakfast at the usual time so didn't drink my first bottle early.
Any ideas for next week's goals?
Diane

In the last 2 weeks I have acquired 3 new cookbooks. In the coming week I will make at least one new recipe from each book and report back.

I have moved the second wardrobe to the basement. Those will be my new wardrobes once I can get rid off those that are in my room now, Diane. They are white, not black.
I have a goal for the next week: clean the flat after my parents leave on Wednesday (and take their stuff with them). I also want to by mindfull what I eat.

I finished up my first two weeks' challenge(s). I put in 3 hours yesterday afternoon and it wore me out. I felt like someone had pulled the plug on me, but good to have that out of the way. This morning I did a little more tidying up (maintenance) of the area. That is the main thing...to keep it from getting back in that mess again.
The challenge for me this week is the Kitchen! I plan to do a side a day, plus re-arrange all the cabinets and wipe down every wall and surface. The re-arranging will take the longest.
This house has 11 rooms....if you count the walk in pantry and the two parts to the bathroom. Bathtub in one side and then another little room that has the shower and the toilet. And there is a long hall and a porch all the way across the front. I think even the hall will take a week....because the linen closet opens to the hall and it needs to be re-organized and the light fixtures need to be cleaned. Also there are three totes in there that need to be dealt with. The sun porch is huge....the size of 3 normal rooms and it is a total mess. That may take two weeks. So much stuff that needs to be dealt with.
It was my "dream" to re-do an old farmhouse. It is a nightmare in reality. But we have gone too far to stop now. This would be my dream house if it was finished. I have never had so much space in all the years I have been married....but having so much space makes it very easy to keep a lot of "stuff".

I will continue with my original goals of tidying up the coffee table and kitchen table every day, sweeping the floors every other day and mopping once a week. Currently the coffee table only needs two things removed to be tidy, the kitchen table is getting better and I will work on that today. I don't want to talk about the floors.

Lucie, I was wondering why you didn't just keep them upstairs if you were going to use them, but I didn't think about the fact that you probably had to get rid of something first. Jendela, what cookbooks did you acquire? Ellen, that's wonderful that you got rid of the junk pile! Your house sounds great, even with the problems, I love big old houses. Ima you're making progress, pretty soon cleaning the tables off will be a habit. Do you have a particular time of day that you clean them off? Would it help you remember if you try to do it after dinner or before bedtime, or something like that? I decided I didn't want to do an email goal 2 weeks in a row, although I am going to try this week to make sure I stay under 600 total by at least deleting the ones I don't need each day. I'm at 510 or something like that right now, so I should be able to do that if I pay at least a little attention to them. My goal for this week is to work on my "clutter piles". I PEEP every day and put obvious things away, but in every room there are little piles of things that I'm working on or thinking about, and they don't make a big mess, but they keep the room from looking entirely neat. That is righ, Diane, I can not fit anything new in the flat until I get rid off something - which I can not do yet. Also this flat needs a lot of recontruction, I plan to move as much stuff out as possible, then do the work and then clean and put the new stuff in.

You are all doing so well. Week 02/2016This week's goal is ... ... to create an excel sheet which is meant to help me (re)gain overview over my finances. I blew it, and next won't be a good week to try again. So just a simple goal: Week 03/2016This week's goal is ... ... to keep up with my tiny (cleaning) and medium (nurturing soul) habit.

Hello all, well done on your last weeks goals My goal this week is to make a couple of phone calls, I need to ring the drs and chase up a refund, they won't take long, but I keep putting them off. As they're quick I'll continue to try and take my supplements too, which I'm not doing too well remembering.

This week I accomplished my bookcase goal and ate lots of fruits and veggies!
There's still some misc. junk in the living room, but I got through some things that had been sitting on the floor for 8 months, so I feel good about that.
This week: clean off the stove top- the beans I cooked spilled over last week and I didn't notice- and clear out one more tub of craft supplies in the office. Either get rid of that amount or find a spot that's not in the way like it is now.

Jendela, what cookbooks did you acquire?
Hi Diane - good luck with your piles. I blush to admit, I already have an over-abundance of cook books already, but sometimes I just can't resist. I need to make sure I *use* these new books, and they don't just add to the piles around the house. ( Right now the new books are piled precariously on top of a pile on my desk. )
Simplicious by Sarah Wilson (new)
I have been dithering over this book for some weeks, and as my library doesn't have it I decided to buy it. The reason behind this purchase is to encourage my thinking about how to live more ethically, sustainably and to reduce food wastage. For example, she prefers using buckwheat to quinoa, as the recent popularity of the latter in the West has created shortages for South American populations who rely on the grain. More about quinoa later.
Saving Dinner by Leanne Ely, who is associated with Flylady - $3.00
I couldn't believe coming across this book in a goodwill shop in a small town here in Australia. How did it get there? It sparked wonder and awe. I figured that I was meant to buy it! So I did! Then I thought: uh-oh, what did I just do! Anyway I plan to make the Garlic Lime Chicken and the Buttermilk Corn muffins.
Quinoa - the Everyday Superfood by Patricia Green and Carolyn Hemming - $1.50
I went through a quinoa phase a while ago, which was more about buying quinoa than using it. After reading about the shortages in South America I am feeling even more guilt. So, I bought this book to encourage me to work through the stockpile. And if I ever get to the bottom of the pile I will make sure any future quinoa purchases are from a sustainable & local source.

Great thread. My 1st goal on this thread & goal for this week is to have block of rooms at a hotel for upcoming wedding. This will definitely help me to feel that I finally was able to get something done that has ended up being complicated, etc. I have been in a bit of a slump and need to feel that I am capable of accomplishing something. This week: clean off the stove top- the beans I cooked spilled over last week and I didn't notice- and clear out one more tub of craft supplies in the office. Either get rid of that amount or find a spot that's not in the way like it is now. Hmm, well I cleaned off the stove top right away. Then I forgot about the craft room goal. So that's my goal again. My lease will renew in 2 months, and I assume that my landlord will come take a look at the apt, so I'd like to get that room looking ship shape. The rest of the place is landlord ready. Hooray.
