I was in a hotel for a few days so I could get to work. I got home today after the city plowed the route.
What did I learn from this?
I love being in an almost empty hotel room. No clutter, junk, trash dishes etc.
I had to laugh about a post I made the other day saying I am 5 wheelie bins away from normal! SCTRACH THAT!!
SO AS I walked into nightmare messy apartment.i went to bed to catch up with sleep. Ta da
Spent 1 Hour omg, picking up, putting away and putting in the trash. As I cleared the floor roomba vacuumed shredded papers
To do
more putting away More funding trash Stay calm.

Mini bonus, I wrote FLEX balances/usages on my claim. Boss came in & said we're off from each other. I quick added her #s. I said, that's about the amount I forfeited at the end of 2015? She said she carried it over even though I missed the use it up deadline. $68 mine, all mine. Well sorta. $ deposited yesterday will all go on credit card payment, it's Rx reimbursement, and I charge Rx
Yesterday was gruelling. Payday, so I have to guess day's hours. Then, the flex paperwork took longer than expected, that's me time not work time. BFF had surgery, another friend was there for support. Went in later than appt. 5:00, left office, banked my checks, microwave supper at home. Grocery store, card & flowers. Hospital. She's groggy & nauseated. Friend wanted to go feed hubby. I said go. Back to work 7:00. Worked to 9:00. Called attending friend. BFF had sent her home. I ran back over to hospital to see her. Sleeping soundly. What is it with hospital and lights? I pulled a curtain so the light wasn't in her face.
Hospital architects are sadistic. There's an exit to the parking lot. But alarm will ring. Also stupid. There was NO PLACE for the flowers. No shelf. No cubby. They're on the floor.

Done: Walked into town to buy a rake, more compost and some stronger hooks for voile rods Walked home again Raked up as much of yesterday's mown grass (and moss) as possible and put into compost bin
Put dehydrated compost into bag and added water to rehydrate Opened rehung curtains very, very gently so they don't fall off tracks - sadly, in light of day, very evident that cat hair is still present except now it is in small amounts all over instead of in big clumps <grr> Put junk mail in recycling when I got home
To Do: Attempt #2 at hanging voile Cover yesterday's seeds with plastic Plant some more seeds (I have a window box for my bedroom and some colourful flower seeds)

Done: Attached hooks for voile hanging Washed window while waiting for voile hooks to stick fully (have to wait an hour) but it's dirtier on the outside so it hasn't made a huge difference Washed glass of internal door
To Do: Try hanging voile (fingers crossed - it's going to be a bit fiddly because there are three net curtain rods threaded through it so it goes around the bay window, and I need to distribute the fabric evenly without dropping anything) Put various cleaning cloths I have used over the past few days in to soak Reclear living room (it has gained things like my stepladder, the vacuum cleaner, and lots of cut grass that I have trekked in)

Done: The voile is up! The voile is up! (That sounds like secret spy code for something much more exciting) - probably should have ironed it first as it has a lovely horizontal crease where it was folded, but it's not so bad that I need to take it down. So now I have a lovely voiled window... framed by two cat-hair coated dog-poo-coloured curtains. Well, the voile is up To Do: Clean cloths Reclear living room Put away previous washing up

Done: Sorted cloths - not enough of them yet to be worth a wash Recleared living room Organised plugs/cables in living room (only one double socket in the room and it's in a different corner to the phone line, so a bit of creative extension lead use going on - this is the first time I haven't had wires trailing across the floor)
General picking up and tidying in dining room Put recycling/compost bins out for collection in the morning Put up a (removable) hook and hung my doorbell chime
Did a bit of vacuuming in living room (curtain/cable sorting has thrown up new dust that I didn't get yesterday) Made a gardening bits and pieces box Emptied out my sauercarrot which should probably have moved into the fridge last week (my sauerkraut seems to last well on the worktop, but the sauercarrot really did not - shame as it was very tasty!)
Put on a whites wash, including my mattress protector - once that is dry, I can make my bed up fully for the first time in quite a while
To Do: Hang laundry once it is done Put away previous washing up Do a load of washing up

The voile is down. I repeat, the voile is down.
Not the whole thing, thankfully. Was just sitting, relaxing, thinking about going to sleep... Suddenly there was an ominous clatter that sounded suspiciously like a hook detaching from a window frame and falling onto the window ledge. Fortunately, it's just the one hook that went and it hasn't pulled the rest of the set-up down with it. I've stuck the hook back on for now and will hope for the best overnight. If it's fallen off again by morning, I have some replacement adhesive strips that I can try. If that doesn't work, there may be space for me to add one more hook for extra support.
Bah.

It fell down again. Have replaced the adhesive strip. Can't leave it for an hour to "bond" because I'm worried the extra weight will pull other hooks off. So I've just stuck a bit of tape across the hook for some extra security. Going to go to sleep now. We'll see if it survives the night!

The eagle has landed, Minerva. Sorry about the voile! I've just sort of been piddling today. Did dishes, watered the plants, refilled the vinegar squirt bottle, filled the ammonia squirt bottle (ammonia is AMAZING STUFF, if anyone's never used it for cleaning), wiped down the counter and a cabinet, hung daughter's tapestries around her bed, and did some general PEEPing. todo: laundry wash more cabinets not sure

So, new plan. Hook has been stuck on AGAIN. Net curtain rod is being held up by having pegs (clothes pins) clipping it to the ugly curtains (obviously just a very temporary solution as I can't now open the curtains to see my voile!). Hopefully the hook will be suitably bonded by the morning to take the weight. Midnight here now, so hoping not to be disturbed by any more collapsing curtains. wind, sounds like a good day of piddling!
