desposito When I need checks - I go to the bank and they print me some, up to 4 at a time. Sometimes they charge me a dollar, sometimes nothing. I belong to a credit union if that makes a difference.

Good morning everyone!
Ohblondie, my problem is getting to the bank since I don't drive--there are two branches that drivers would consider nearby to here, but someone walking would not.
Phoenixcat, it's possible I missed a link, but I so hate calling places that I've gotten pretty good at ferreting out the non-call ways of communicating. I will see if the bank responds, and I specifically told them they are hard to communicate with so if there is a secret hidden way, maybe they will tell me what it is so I don't send them any more letters!
In the meantime I'm going to write the old check today and see what happens.
The dog wanted to go out already, it's is very damp and chilly at the moment. The forecast shows highs of 55 for Thursday and Friday!
Today's priorities are getting enough of the fridge cleaned so I can complete my shopping list, and PEEPing the porch room because I left it messy last night which means I have to declutter it before bedtime or I'll break my streak of baseline days.

The downstairs looks good, upstairs looks good except for my porch room work table which I will neaten up before bedtime.
Yes, I am on a baseline streak, and that is what I attribute my productivity to during the last few days. Probably the most fascinating psychological insight I have ever had about myself is the fact that when the house is at baseline, it's like a wall lifts up in my mind that lets me move forward with other things. As soon as it gets messy I feel like I'm mired in quicksand and it takes me forever to do anything. When the mess is gone I suddenly have an interest in doing things, and some energy to do them. Not a lot of energy, I'm physically not capable of that anymore. But the difference is amazing. And I never knew this before, because my homes have always been messy, or at least, so full of things that even when the things were "organized" the effect was still that nothing looked neat and orderly. My home is still full of more than the average person would have, but it looks orderly to me when I have it decluttered, and once that feeling of guilt that I should be getting rid of the mess is gone, I am free to move forward.
I do still think there is too much to do in this house for me though, especially when I self-impose the responsibility of all the house plants and the garden. But they are not negotiable if I'm going to end up with no animals, I can't exist without living things around me. So I guess I will just do the best I can and if I never get cleaning done on a regular basis that will just be my reality.
I still don't know about shopping tomorrow, I didn't actually clean the fridge but I did look at everything in there, and found food that is good and I feel like I should use it up before buying more. However, I feel pretty good right now, the weather will be good for walking tomorrow, and I'm mostly ready to go, so I guess I'll have to see how tomorrow morning goes. The dog has been wanting to go out earlier than she has been, but if I go shopping I'll be feeding her late which should hold off her having to go out. But, since I'm feeding her late and she has a pretty good sense of when she's supposed to eat, she may get off the bed and look for her breakfast, which means it's not impossible that she'll have trouble on the slippery floor and fall and not be able to get up without my help. But, this will be true on any day, so if I feel good tomorrow I will try to go. If not, Friday is the next possible day, since tomorrow it's supposed to be rainy although I'm not sure when the rain is supposed to come.
Now I will think about what to have for dinner.

that makes sense, Diane, thank for writing that out. I think that's why I was inspired this morning.
we just got back from all but one of the errands. got lunch on the way. And did grocery shopping, without a list. The main thing was cat treats!
I've got four yes RSVPs for tomorrow night. But next is a break. Not sure if we will cook dinner as we had a decent lunch. I do have a recipe and all the ingredients.
I couldn't figure out my tax task, but I did get a number to the folks who can help. I could not figure out how to get into and/or set up an account online.

Good evening reve!
I straightened out my desk's pencil drawer while eating dinner.
I'm happy with today, which is good, because if I go shopping in the morning I know I won't get anything done for the rest of the day. Maybe I can at least do some sitting down tasks while resting my feet.
Good night all, see you tomorrow!
