Good Monday morning!
Thanks for starting the thread, lennon!
I had another night of decent sleep. Today I need to force myself to finish cleaning out the fridge so I know what I need when I go shopping. Both Tuesday and Wednesday are good temperatures with no rain, so either day will work for walking, Thursday and Friday show possible rain.
Wishing everyone a good, productive week!

My Federal tax return is in an envelope waiting for stamps. My state return needs 10-20 more minutes and it will also be ready for mailing!
Now it's time to feed the dog and have my lunch.

Diane WTG on your taxes! You do paper forms? Does that mean you do all those calculations by yourself?
It is sunny here! It might sound odd that I say it as a big deal, but I heard on the radio headed into work that our sunny cloudless Sunday (yesterday) was the first one in 50 days!!! 50!!!
I am home for lunch then did a zoom, heading back in but first I will do the litter.
while home for lunch I played with puppy, ate, listened to a zoom meeting, fed cats and dealt with trash and recycling.
I am tired, wonder if it is because I need to lose weight or just Monday tiredness. i had a good night's sleep.
getting up today I fell into a foul mood. I am in the midst of a really messy project at work and i don't want to deal with the team that is trying very hard to derail the project. frustrating in so many ways. then at work i told a male colleague about it and I don't mean to be sexist but he began giving me solutions and telling me what to do. i was just venting and I don't need his solutions...I know he was trying to be helpful but sometimes I just want to vent; was not seeking out his expertise, I know how to handle..My bad as I started it!
no mail today. for some reason I love to get the mail, a little thrill! even though it is bills or flyers or requests for money from non-profits or lately --lots of hearing center ads! guess I am officially old.
OK litter, then head back to work!

Good afternoon bree!
Yes, I still send in paper forms for my taxes, I know I'm way behind the times. There aren't a lot of calculations when you have a very simple return, like mine. It was more complicated when I was self-employed, that required several attachments to the 1040 form. The main thing is to read every single line to make sure I'm not missing something I'm supposed to fill in.
After lunch I got an ocular migraine again, and I'm not under stress today so I can't blame this one on stress.
I will try to finish my taxes now!
Next:
10 minutes on taxes Inventory upstairs groceries Write out a get well card Write a friend letter

So, I had the state tax form prepared and went to write a check for what I owe, and it occurred to me that my checks were from a bank that I was using in 2019 that was taken over by a different bank, and then last year that bank was taken over by yet another bank. I remember at some point the bank's info said that I could still use the checks from the first bank for a certain amount of time, but I don't remember how long that was. I rarely use checks anymore, although I did use one in September and it went through. But this is to the state department of revenue, so I really don't want it to be refused.
So, I went to the bank website to see if they had an email or chat option to ask questions. No, you have to call. So I called, and I had to input all of my personal information--account number, date of birth, SS# zip code. After that it gives me 4 options, none of which was asking a general question or a question about a checking account. They were things like "help with the website or mobile app", "help with making an automated payment", "location of branches". I tried pressing zero and saying "operator" and replaying the menu and pressing one of the options, but nothing worked.
So, I had to write a LETTER to the bank to ask my question. And, while I was in "annoyed letter writing mode", I decided to keep going and to write the letter to the company that makes the hand soap that I like and can't find anymore, even though I used their "contact us" link on their website at least three times and never got a reply.
Then my shopping friend called again although this call was only 15 minutes. And, I fed the dog and she wanted to go out at 4:30, which is another awkward time to go out when we go again at 8.
I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and write the check to the state, I'll be able to see if it's cashed and if not I guess they'll just have to let me know. I just don't the process to take so long that they'll charge me interest if I don't get a replacement payment in on time. This is why it's so good to be doing this early! I'll have to figure out the check situation before I need another check, though. Luckily I don't need one for the Federal return, and I no longer need them for my real estate taxes because if I pay them early enough the bank sends a check by mail.
I was having a really productive day, too.
Now I have to make veggies for dinner.

Almost time to get ready for bed. I definitely am not ready for my grocery shopping tomorrow, I looked around in the fridge but still need to figure out what I need to buy. I will have to plan for Wednesday.
It's very quiet here today for a Monday!
I looked at my bank website to see how much checks cost, they sent me to an outside company which would not show the price of anything until I put in my bank account number and routing number. Of course, that irritated me so I looked online at other check suppliers, and I see that Vistaprint will print orders of as few as 25 checks for $4, which of course doesn't include the $6 shipping fee, but I honestly don't need 100 or 150 checks which the other places want to print. I think I'll just go ahead and send the old check this time and figure out what to do about new checks after I hear from the bank--assuming they reply to my letter.
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow!

hey everypony!
I did some deep organizing today. started last night. I'm tired! But satisfied. Now, of course, the longstanding office clutter shows up more clearly. But I guess that's a good thing. I basically got a big category put away.
to wit: I got a 14x14 square tall cabinet at an estate sale last summer. It has five deep drawers and two shelves. It now holds:
- beads & tools
- liquids (glue and paint)
- scrapbook materials
- stamps and ink pads
- arts & crafts
- and seven 12x12 bins with paper, kits, finished pages, etc.
I have pulled empty containers and all the sewing related stuff. its all on a big table, and I will work on sorting that out tomorrow.
I defrosted some leftovers. DVD was out all day. He came home to discover the cat had sprayed on his tool chest of drawers, so has been cleaning that up for an hour. it got everywhere.
I've also got an almost dry load which will get done right when I want to eat. its just pajamas. Did the dishes from yesterday this morning, but will have more tonight.

Long day. Did dailies. Returned package. Filled up the gas tank. Attached replacement flag to mailbox. Cancelled an appointment. Mailed a Birthday card and texted HBD to my friend. Did kitchen prep work while fixing supper. Started DW. Started washer earlier. Took trash outside. Texted for a hairdresser appointment. Talked with my BFF in CT. Thank you, lennon, for starting this thread. My best to all. catcats

desposito Diane - does your bank have an email address or a message center? The link is usually REALLY HARD TO FIND but I've found that banks will reply quickly - within 48 hours if you send an online message in some way. I've found the message center under my personal profile link, in a weird icon near the profile link, in drop down menus, sometimes in drop down menus from other drop down menus, sometimes an email is in their "contact us" link, sometimes you ask a question either about contacting them or your check question in their search function. I will say that if the option exists - it is almost always found on the home page once you've signed in and buried somewhere in the top 1/4 to 1/3 of the screen or across the bottom of the page. Good luck - I've had that "contact bank" challenge myself and typically I don't remember how I did from one time to the next.
