Good morning!
Thanks for starting the thread lennon, and I will definitely look at the eclipse if it's visible here--it's cloudy now but will probably clear up.
I had okay sleep, up for one hour in the middle of the night but the rest was good. My sinuses/maybe allergies have been bothering me since yesterday though so I feel tired even though I just woke up...wheezy too.
Today I must get that giant cardboard box cut down because it's leaning against a plant table and I have to reach over it to water the seedlings. It would also be nice to finish the upstairs decluttering, that would leave only the kitchen downstairs.
Let's all have a productive week!

Good afternoon bree!
I discovered that Office Depot lets you print a UPS label to mail in used print cartridges for recycling if you have 20 or more--to my surprise, I counted and have just over 20. I'm going to print the label, and also print a label for an Amazon return since they both require going to the UPS store. Then it will be time for lunch.

Diane good news on the label!
I took today off to get caught up on some things (taxes !) and I am just so randomly puttering but I guess making random progress! three rounds of fetch. well mostly chase. puppy isn't as good at the drop the ball part.
also started a load of laundry did dishes paid a bill some pick up put away some recycling and shredding
feeling out of sorts because I had hoped to have some social interaction too but the person is someone who has not worked for years and they are on a very different cycle. they like stay up really late and sleep til noon or more. so kind of hard to make plans with as I am on the more popular cycle.
I just heated up some food. I thought package said 3 minutes. it was 30 seconds! house now smells very bad like burnt popcorn, although it was not popcorn.
next cat litter more pick up put away hope to hear from friend in a time consistent with my time zone!!

The upstate NYS roads are clogged with traffic. Many schools closed or are dismissing at noon.
I think I am happy I am missing most of this - though I am nervous about flying during an eclipse.
real world starts back up tomorrow

Good afternoon everypony! ohblondie flying during an eclipse is really cool!
spent the morning outside with our NASA eclipse glasses and DVD's welding helmet. clear skies. watched the partial eclipse and the coverage on the phone. DVD took some photos. Made the neighbors and passers-by look through the glasses. Most were confused until... OH! WOW! THANK YOU!
I am ready for a nap. Have a zoom call to prep for at 4:30 pm. Mostly to figure out how to broadcast everything I want to broadcast.
DONE: caffeinate.
NEXT UP: everything

Oh, dear! Good thing you didn't think it was 30 minutes!
puppy isn't as good at the drop the ball part
You know bree, after seeing many smart dogs not drop the ball, even though they have to know that they have to drop it for you to throw it again, I honestly think they are looking for the interaction on your part. They want you to get excited about not getting the ball back, and chase them, that's more fun than running after it!
TT, we all have days like that, if you can do some things today, it will be better than yesterday!
So, after figuring out the label printing I decided that instead of eating lunch, I would take my eclipse glasses and spend the next couple of hours in the yard. I made a basket with sticks in it for the bees--very rudimentary and I don't know if they'll use it, because I have heard they don't like all the sticks together. These aren't in a bundle, they are sticking into dirt but they're all together in one basket. I guess I'll see--if they don't use it at least I will have tried. While out there I saw a Red Admiral butterfly! So I went back inside and put more oranges slices on the puddler.
I also cut up some more branches, collected miscellaneous plant debris for the yard waste can, and filled up several gallon water bottles from one of the rain barrels. I dug up two pretty large plants that I think are some kind of thistle--pollinators love the flowers on thistles, but these were right in the middle of the dirt pile over the cement patch, where the handyman will be working and we'll be dumping dirt, so they wouldn't have survived. I chopped the roots off pretty badly, but I still dug little holes and put them over in a corner by the fence, I don't know if this kind of plant will send down new roots but I'm in "doesn't hurt to try mode" so I did it.
Oh, and while collecting branches I tripped on one and fell down on the sidewalk, and skinned my knee. Ouch, but it certainly could have been worse.
I stayed outside until the peak of the eclipse was over, every 5 minutes or so I would pull out my glasses and look. Pretty cool, I thought it would get darker even though I knew we wouldn't see a complete eclipse, it just looked shady like the sun was setting. Now I'm back inside and ready to eat lunch.

So, my legs are killing me right now, I don't know if it's from doing the 2 hours of yard work in a row or from the fall. I have been sitting reading since eating lunch, moving around is a chore.
I wanted to go back out to the yard for at least a little while but I don't think I can. I will try to work on something that lets me sit for a while.
