bree poor, sweet puppy, of course I will pray for her to feel much better asap!!
catcats a darling, new DGGD!!!! So happy all is well
I had set yesterday's AC appointment because the weather was supposed to be sunny and no rain at all. But as the afternoon moved along so did the radar with severe pop-up rainstorms and hail. Right over my house with the dreaded reds and oranges when he was supposed to be here (he had called to say he was on his way). I sent up a little prayer for it to hold off so the tech could get the outside work done. Thank you, dear Lord, that is exactly what happened! A very light shower when he arrived, he could work inside, then sunny again, enough to get the outside units checked, then inside again to finish.
When he was checking the first floor AC unit in the basement it was not kicking on. I had set the temp for 65 as he asked. When he went to check the thermostat on the first floor to see why it wasn't working we saw that I still had the heat on. What a goof. I use two sets of glasses, my cheap readers and my prescription *long glasses*. One or the other is always hanging off my t-shirt. Many times I notice my eyesight is a bit off but I don't think to swap out the glasses. I swear my mind is going. I realized that I set the thermostat to 65 and thought I switched from heat to AC; really, really though that is what I was reading; I must have been using my long glasses and thought I had my readers on. Another head slap here But what a relief to know it was my simple mistake and not a problem to be fixed! The upstairs unit was fine. We have had that set on AC for maybe a week now. So all is well and DD1 and the Tabby Sisters and I will stay cool for another summer.
Today little was done. Bad headache for most of the day. I did have a nice, long conversation with DD2. And thought I had lab work tomorrow. Really, really thought I did. Checked the calendar and the appointment is next week. Third headslap..... At least I didn't fast tonight and show up there tomorrow only to find out, that yeah, another mistake.

Good morning!
My internet is really acting up--and I don't understand it because a couple of times I've reset the modem and it helps for an hour or so, a couple of other times I've reset it and it doesn't help at all. I should be calling Comcast today but now I have the handyman scheduled for Friday and Monday and would rather wait til that's over with. I wouldn't mind if it helped to reset the modem each time but sometimes that doesn't help either. My tv and phone are mostly okay although there are some glitches there too.
I was going to go to the library this morning but there is leftover rain from last night so I will wait until tomorrow--I have books to pick up but have until Friday to get them. Before I went to bed I couldn't get an internet forecast but watched some local news and they said there could still be a bad storm but wouldn't reach us until 1am. I fell asleep around 9 and slept right through until 3am--that's a record, I think, without a wake up! I got another hour or so of sleep before my clock rang at 6, and when I looked outside there was about an inch of rain in the bucket but no sign of high winds or anything, so I think the thunder must have passed us by--it always wakes me up now because there was such a problem with thunder for the dog. It's supposed to clear up this morning and reach a high of 70, so I should be able to do something in the yard.
I have many seedlings that need to be repotted today so I'll be working on that, plus I never did get back to the fridge.
Danny, good that your AC visit could be completed and that your "problem" was easily solved with the right pair of glasses! While out with the handyman on Monday I took the cover off of my outside unit even though I'm not using it yet, because it would be just like me to turn the air on the for the first time and forget to take the cover off first. Since the unit is only two years old both the AC guy and the handyman said I don't need to have it checked before turning on, so I'll take their word for it.

Shortly after my last post the rain stopped and the sun came out, so I decided to go to the library and get it done. I'm glad I did because on the way home I met my neighbor down the block, I rarely see them anymore, and I had never told them that the dog had been euthanized, so I was finally able to tell them that. We talked a long time, and by the time we finished the sky had turned very grey again--so who knows what the weather will be like today.
I'm going to rest for a little bit, then I think I need to wash out some of the larger pots that have been sitting on my back porch since last fall, I will need them for the larger seedlings. So that will be my first job--unless it's raining by the time I go outside, in which case I'll put the pots out and let the rain do some of the work.

Thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers for puppy. She is doing a lot better- yesterday was a little rough. She was just so groggy and unsettled. She would go from place to place and whimper. Today she woke me up -Bright eyed with tail wagging. She’s been really good so I did not put the cone on her. I have to go to the office shortly. Hopefully she’ll just sleep. She’s on painkillers, antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory… one concerning thing is the instructions on the painkiller bottle were different than the written ones they handed out so I called today and they made a mistake and the written ones were over dosing her. The clerk on the on the phone said oh that was a mistake then silence so I said I accept your apology for the mistake because it’s really dangerous to make mistake like that because it would’ve been over dosing my dog on the painkiller! I have to keep up with dishes. Did some laundry. I’m kind of worn out, but I’m feeling grateful that puppy is doing better. Yesterday was a tough day, today is a new one! ohblondie, I’m following your post avidly as you are a new retiree. I say wear jeans to the meeting tonight! My one meeting with the personality disorder person yesterday was so bad in terms of how difficult work will be for the next year that I was wondering if I could retire, but I really can’t with DD in college. and if I hang on, I get better retirement benefits in about two years. There is one job I saw that is fully remote that I might apply for, but I can’t really imagine anybody hiring an oldie like me

Bree, good for you for catching the mistake on the dosing for puppy. I believe medical people are taught to never admit mistakes if they can avoid it, to avoid lawsuits. Ironically, studies show that if a medical person admits fault and sincerely apologizes, people are much less likely to sue them! Assuming it's not a very serious mistake, I'm sure--like amputating the wrong limb or something...
I went out to the yard for 45 minutes, I washed out a dozen larger plant pots, and I cleaned/refilled the birdbath and the water bowl. It's still cloudy out and the temperature is rapidly dropping, but I don't think there will be more rain.
I got such a late start to the library this morning that it feels like it should earlier, but I see it's almost noon. I'm pretty sure my shopping friend will call this afternoon, but I will do a list before I eat lunch.
TO DO:
10 minutes on seedlings 10 minutes on houseplants Restock water in fridge Delete 10 hard emails

Earlier this month I washed all of my mom's summer shirts. Slowly I am ironing them with "light starch". Today I ironed 10 and dropped them off with the 5 I previously dropped off.
My mom bailed on the visit so I am visiting my dad. I brought him ice cream and we are watching Emergency, that TV show from the 70's
I washed a load of jeans for DH. While I was in the basement I started picking up the pieces of lint I just drop on the floor. I cleared up a good section of the floor and found coins and a missing sock.
Tonight I am going to a fundraiser dinner with a friend and her husband. I will probably have to curl my hair and apply makeup!!
Once I leave here and head home, I will try to do a few more 10 min chores
I did purchase a bathroom rug at the rummage sale o am helping with. I put the rug down in the bathroom and it looks great.

There was a bin with a bad odor in the Glam room. I pulled it apart and found mouse damage. I found another dead mouse in the Glam room. Good news is I have another empty bin!

I did have a very long call with my shopping friend. I was hoping to do a little more yard work today but it's very cold and windy outside right now, maybe I'll just concentrate on repotting seedlings. There is no room under the grow lights, so I will have to put plants in the windows of the enclosed front porch and hope there's enough light. And continue rotating them under the grow lights.
I'm going to repot a couple more before thinking about dinner.

I had my most productive day in a very long time
The shark vacuum had stopped picking up a few weeks ago. I didn't have time to take it apart but today was the day. It was clogged in several places and all that hair i lost.....i found it in the roller brushes!!! Dear me, Anyway, it is now running smoothly and i did the upstairs and one bedroom then emptied it along with all the other muck from it and took out the trash bag. Its really hot today 90 degrees so i am taking breaks and have fans running We had to buy a couple of yard things from Home Depot because no body has touched the yard in several years and its really bad. I have been weeding the front and still have a way to go, but the back is a whole other animal. Its going to be a long term project because DH is so limited on what he can see to do. I have a weeks worth of work coming up so i won't be around much.
We also got some food today and i put it away, and i did a double load of laundry and most of it dried in about 2 hours just hanging it up.

Hi oust, that was a productive day! It sounds way too hot where you are though, I hope you can stand the summer weather!
I did two 20 minute sessions in the yard over the last couple of hours, I picked up the remaining twigs that were near the porch where I sit to work, and swept the area, so it looks a lot neater there. I also dragged a very heavy storage bin full of dirt to the back part of the yard, I want all the odd bin-type planters to be in the back area. I filled up some water bottles and cleaned off my spade so I could bring it back inside the porch.
I repotted several seedlings upstairs but will bring them downstairs tomorrow.
Now I'll have dinner and get to bed early again.
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow!
Diane

hey everypony!
my meds aren't quite right--waiting for one to be filled--so I am anxious and not thinking clearly. dear danny15 I can relate! it seems the rate of descending to another level of brain glitches has increased. One of my relatives works in the bio-medical field, specifically on the immune system in the brain and Alzheimer's, and there will be new meds coming down the pike eventually. I had no idea it was separate from the rest of the body--he says it comes from our egg sac. The body is weird!
today is a recovery day, totally worth! turns out my cousin is also having post-viral challenges. that makes four of us. I'm thinking of starting a support group.
I realized I have too many "tickets" open, as they say in IT. (A ticket is a request for help from the IT dept.) all of these open loops have got me loopy. Hope to start closing some of them!
DONE: slept took meds body-doubling w/ LR reviewed and updated casual lists checked online balances checked email checked what I can redeem with rewards points did some appliance research talked to DVD about it
I need to eat something and try to bring my anxiety down

Called a pest control company, the famous one beginning with "O" they are coming friday morning. We were outside tonight weeding and a neighbor said they were attacked by wasps.....not good time for the experts. We did a little weeding and got some done before the neighbor asked about the wasps. $400 for them to come out...

Congratulations Catcat, so pleased everything went well xx
Bree hope your puppy is doing well now x
Has anyone started driving again after many years of not. I passed 28 years ago in a manual car and never drove after. I had a refresher years later and they said my driving was fine it was confidence. We now have an automatic car sat on the driveway not used and I'm trying to pluck up the courage to book a refresher again.
It's a gorgeous day, I was meant to go out, but have an infection from a tooth removal and it's giving me a headache/earache. Think I'm better off getting moving and start some jobs
Shower Fill bird feeders
Gather any washing upstairs Get washing on Check fridges for out of date
Walk dog Get all loose paper and start putting into categories
